Caved in and Bought the G3 CD and DVD today.
14.99 for the DVD....24.99 for the CD?!I really wish I hadn't bought the CD, I will never listen to it again in all likelyhood.
I like the DVD.Vai sounds awesome, better than I expected, being that his performance at the shows I saw was dissapointing to me.Joe sounded awesome, however the setlist was not a high point.I'm just weary of not seeing some different tunes, thats all.Still loving it though, dont get me wrong.Juice was really close to dead on, surprised me to all hell!
The bad:
WHY A LIGHTING DIAGRAM?!It doesn't register with my head. They couldn't fit something cool on there, like a commentary track, or some more tunes, like Power Cosmic?
or Why, which sounded SICK at the show?
How about the YNG-O-METER, which counts picks thrown and guitars spun behind the back, or trips to the mini-bar next to his guitar tech? That would be a Ninja-worthy bonus feature!(I counted 3 spins first track on the DVD)
Or maybe some clips of guests, like Schon, Petrucci, Gilbert, Gibbons, Eric johnson, you know, from this tour and tours past?I'm damn sure there is some footage available of some of these things I'm mentioning.
I dunno, I'd give it a 7 out of 10.better than the Astoria DVD, even with the lst G3 DVD...well, a little better if you omit Malmsteen.Joe once again dominated the jams with both his taste on some parts, and his limitless lick vocabulary on others.he was the only guy who surprised me at all during the jams, as he always does.
WHY NO PETRUCCI DVD?That year was far better, for me.
Dont take me serious, I'm just venting, lol.It was a hell of a show to see
THANKS JOE!
Concentrating on the good-Highlights-Mystical, Starry night jam, Vai's set, and Joe's playing on the jams.Easily worth the money for the DVD.

Man, I dont really like drinking much anymore.I tried to order my old favorite, Jack and Coke tonight, I only finished like a third of it.Made me nautious(huh?thats not a word..oh, I meant NAUSEOUS, nevermind....wrong usage of it too).Margaritas I still like, for some reason, but not as much as before.
C'MON JOE, HOW WAS THE SHOW?:D

Michelle-Thanks....really ruined my month, and cost me a lot of time with my dad, and money. Most importantly, it reuined the last day I had with my dad.I won't see him again for months and months.
Jazzy-Ill give you the exact order of albums I listen to the most-
Most.1Engines 2.Surfing 3.Crystal 4.Flying 5.Joe Satriani 6.Time Machine 7.Dreaming#11 8.Not Of this Earth 9.The Extremist 10.SBM 11.Live in SF(least)
I didn't mention things like The beautiful guitar, or Imports, because whatever
American Tae Kwon Do is the Zima of Martial arts.
A decent boxer with some ground fighting knowledge will stomp most martial artists asses, as far as I have seen.Too much dry land swimming in a lot of martial arts. ;d
Eugene's Trick Bag-Its just basic Arpeggios, and the last part is a variation on Paganini's 5th Caprice. Also, it's all alternate picking, no Sweeping!

JOE!Check out Ron Thal yet?
www.bumblefoot.com
:D
Man, a million posts.Once again, EUGENES TRICK BAG HAS NO SWEEPING.Thankyougoodnight.
BTW, Sweeping is not strumming. You must finger each note individually while dragging the pick from string to string, and you have to make sure your muting is together.
I really wish people would realize how many cool things you can do with Sweeping besides the typical Major and minor shapes.Im SO FUCKING SICK of those. For the major and minor stuff I prefer hybrid picking, with sweeping you don't get much control over each note, they just kinda blur together.

Jazz-I dunno man, I hear Joe fine for the Jams. The first G3 DVD is like that.Depending how you have your system set up, you either cannot hear Eric or Vai at all.I even had that problem with the G3 VHS!

Oh yeah,
BABY SNAKES-FRANK ZAPPA
Bad Ass DVD.Must see for anyone who wants to see Zappa in concert.I swear, he was the best guitarist of the era in the early 70's late 60's, aside from Mclaughlin and Holdsworth.
I really wish he was still alive. Its just wrong that he is gone.

Sigh-Always fun to come home to this...
962-If you will actually practice them, I will make a powertab for you of different arpeggios you can work on.I say it this way, because I have often made things for people that they never use, and it just wastes my time.If you are really interested, just let me know, leave yuor email and Ill mail you something in a few days.
Yes, Vai uses no Sweeping in Butlers bag, and they arent sweeping shapes anyways. You can do it with sweeping, but the attack sounds all wrong if you do.Its all alt-picking.

I always assumed Joe had no middle name
Animals is my favorite Pink Floyd album.I'm pretty fed up with all the most popular ones.So over played, for my tastes.
Roxy and Elsewhere is a badass album.Zappa was the man!
