Samy Andrews-Yeah, I have that amp.You have it going through the Effects loops, right? You have to mess with the trim levels.I think I have my trim levels set really low, so no problems with it.I use the Ibanez Delay, which is basically the same thing, and I'm having no problems using the fx loops. One chord going from send, one going to return, and I plug the guitar, wah, and distortion through the normal amp input.
Austin/Michelle- I remember the Time Machine background.Man, I wish I could find my old posts from those days, I don't even remember what I posted under.I know it was only a few times, I used to go to an internet cafe.Jeez, that was like, my last few years in high school, lol.

JOE-Could you set the record straight as far as overdubs on the new G3 DVD?Im pretty positive I can't spot any on your set, but there is some debate on other boards about Vai and Malmsteen's sets. Thanks for reading, I am kinda tired of the cursed internet speculation
Matt Martinez-I'm glad.I will never understand the DLR praise.Hate that guy.
Sammy Andrews-Isn't it a great amp?I love mine.

Austin-The synch seems of to me, but I only notice it on Vai and YJM's sets, Joe's is fine(aside from the flat bends in Mystical, but I'm sure that was because of monitor problems.)
The main part I noticed on Vai's set was when he was by himself "Improvising"(you know, like, the exact same notes he did at every show from that tour) the sweeping fit at the end is not synched up too well, methinks, so I suspected overdubs.
I have read some posts by others more informed about YJM than me, but according to them(bare in mind that they were actually YJM fans, unlike me) Yngwie has always done massive overdubs on live stuff.I noticed it only a little, mainly like when you can hear a divebomb, and his hands arent on the trem bar, or you hear a high note, when he is playing a low one.I honestly didn't pay much attention to YJM's set on the DVD or CD, because I think he blows.
Anyways, it would be funny to find out that all this stuff is just imaginations running wild, and there weren't overdubs.People claim that Vai did overdubs on the first G3 DVD, and I sure don't notice them, so whatever.

Austin-The Vai overdub I'm talking about is when It's just Vai on stage, so if his keyboardist was playing then, I think he would have even more explaining to do, lol.
I dunno what it is, I just hate it when people sit there and assume things(like I am doing now, lol), I would rather find out for sure, hence my asking Joe.
A lot of internet arguments make me ill, like the "Petrucci sweep vs. Alternate Picking the arpeggios in Glass Prison" or whatever arguments. But hey, that's the internet for ya.
Michelle-I'm intrigued by this "Tent".It would sure save me $$ on rent.

Some guy asked what the Ethn in my screenname means means, smartass.
Went to Bruce Lee's grave today. Its wayyyy fucking hard to find a grave in a cemetary.Took me, like an hour!I finally caved in and went to the office, where they had maps, and the only thing marked on the map was bruce's grave, lol!
there were several other people standing around it, so I felt a little silly. It's pretty intense walking through a cemetary.Saw graves that were from the mid 1800s.
Oddly enough, about 75% of the graves I saw were asians.Weird how that works.Never seen so many Lees in one place before :D

Austin-There is a book on the market that talks about the possiblity that Abraham's motives for the emancipation proclamation may not have been as noble as believed.
I don't remember that blurb on the back of the book, but if you can find it its kinda wild. The author mentioned that there is evidence to suggest that Lincoln was very racist.
I don't believe it, but it would be an interesting read.
When I worked at borders I saw all sorts of weird books. The Self help section is just FILLED with utter nonsense."Chicken soup for baby-rapists soul", shit like that.

Austin-I never liked DLR, but I always liked EVH.When Hagar came along is when I became a really big VH fan.I like showmanship, but I need some substance.DLR is the Jean Claude Van Damme of the music world.Hagar is an ACTUAL musician.
Scalloping a fretboard does not affect speed at all.Yngwie is full of it on that one.It makes it really easy to have a wide vibrato though.

Ya-Yo-Think what you like, but Sammy is actually a very decent rock guitarist.DLR is responsible for a lot of crap that came out of VH, like the Linda Rondstadt cover, Diver down being half covers, etc.
Everyone I have met that has seen the DLR-ERA VH in concert said that DLR was awful, he just talked the whole show, and didn't even sing half the lyrics, it was all schtick.Ever wonder why there was never a DLR-ERA live album?
I do agree that Sammy-ERA had a lot of Pop stuff in it, but that is all Ed.Sammy is a metal head, his favorite band is Tool, after all.
If DLR was back in VH, I don't see them putting out anything half listenable. It would just be cashing in on the nostalgia, and I think that it would just be sad.At least Sammy is looking forward, not back.
And know this-When VH was doing the club circuit with DLR back in the mid 70's with DLR, they covered Hagar songs.Like it or not, DLR is influenced by Sammy, and definately not hte other way around.Maybe Dave wouldn't admit it, but hey, when has he ever said anything coherent anyways?
Yes, that is exactly what I was saying, and my name is Ethn.No "A".Thanks.

Jazzy-Vai hooked them up.Joe actually played a Kramer on Surfing and Not of this earth. In an old interview Joe said that the kramer has made it onto every album since then.Dunno if that holds true for the last 3 albums.

Jazzy-I Hate those songs.I hate most happy stuff that Joe has done though, no offense Joe, you are still my #1.
I haven't listened to either of those songs all the way through in years.I think Boyd was commenting on how funny HE would find it if we saw Joe and he did a surprise setlist consisting of every Satch song I dont like:
Speed of Light
Ceremony
Seven String
Crazy
Lights of Heaven
Train of Angels
Crush of Love
Motorcycle Driver
Summer song
Mindstorm
One Big Rush
Back to Shalla Bal
Psycho Monkey
Ride
The Phone Call
Mighty Turtle Head
Flavor Crystal 7
New Last Jam
Belly Dancer
Crushing Day
Chords of life
I suppose it is possible, but man, that would just ruin my day.It would be a great headline though, just for the irony.
NINJA COMMITS SEPPUKU AT SATRIANI CONCERT BECAUSE OF WAY TOO HAPPY SETLIST.CONVENTIONAL LOGIC DEFEATED ONCE AGAIN.

Duno if I get what you meant, but I agree, all songs do have an audience. But of course, I only listen for myself. What do I care what anyone else likes?Doesn't make me feel any different about wanting to club a baby seal everytime I have to sit through Summer song.
Joe does everything though, so I commend that, even when it doesnt work for me.I know I cant write a song with the same vibe as say, Motorcycle Driver. It just doesnt do anything for me, and I dont really like the way it makes me feel.Plus I hate the drums in the happy stuff.
I also acknowledge that the happy stuff is the money maker for him.Just look at the song contests, with a beautiful, thought provoking song like Echo loses out, but Summer song goes on.Echo obviously is not the big money maker for Joe, so Id say it is ultimately a good thing that those songs exist. The better Joe does, the more great music I will get to hear, I figure.
I would also say, my dream setlist would probably bore most fans.
