hey everyone!!! the new site looks awesome!! -- Jon, i was wondering if there was any chance of putting up wallpapers and that kinda stuff on the site; also, I think it's a neat idea having the T2J work like a message board forum cos that's definitely more interactive!! Hooded JS jumpers are a must! PhrygianDominant -- don't mean to be a pain, but remember the video of satch and vai jamming i asked you about? did you put it up for D/L yet? -- Looking forward to getting the new album, joe!! it sounds fantastic!!

All this talk about time signatures makes me feel silly; I can't figure out time signatures easily... I think the album cover shows Joe holding the new Champagne Gold JS2000; it looks awesome eh? --- Any of you know if any changes will be made to the bulletin board or will that become defunct? -- PhrygianDominant: thanks for all your help! Hope to see the vid soon and I really appreciate it cos i love the jam that Joe and Steve did; I even tried playing something like the second 'song' when jamming with my friends... still awaiting the 25th to arrive and it's killing me! here's to music, strange, beautiful or otherwise!! Satch rules!! hahaha....

Higain + guitararded boy --- I don't really have a stand on downloading tracks (whether it's right or wrong) but i find it frustrating that i can't even buy the Additional Creations CD even if i wanted to. I guess maybe someday Joe might release it on another CD like Time Machine with all sorts of other "unreleased" tracks but waiting for such a possibility is such a drag. As Satch fans, I'm sure all of you can empathize.

Webmaster --- Any thoughts about the wallpaper thing i suggested? I think many would appreciate it since the new design seems pretty cool. Also, are you planning to develop T2J into a message forum with different thread? that seems to be what the bulletin board is for but that seems defunct....

Vetteguy43 --- It takes time to develop calluses on your right hand fingers so initally, the notes you tap might not ring out as loud as fretted notes. After a while, you get used to it, so keep on practising!!

the watcher --- any other comics you recommend? i'm a fan of JMS....

hmmm.. i'm totally against the 4 hour limit. I never really saw the point to it; which maniac is just going to keep on posting nonsense again and again? I mean, everyone should have enough sense and if it's just one guy pouring out crap, the webmaster can do something about it no?

Also, it's frustrating cos you have to wait to post something which could answer someone else's question or something. I always thought it was out of point if we didn't post Satch stuff but the ppl here know each other well and they actually communicate through T2J. Bottom line, the 4 hour limit is just that: limiting. What you guys think?

Gruskada --- sollid reply!! great answer, i agree with Satch 3D!!

Ibztone & death cube K --- is the burnt transparent blue JS1000 inavailable in the US? I'm from S.E. Asia and the BTB and WH JS1000 are both available here but not the Black Pearl JS1000!!! Somehow, I did manage to get my hands on a JS1000BP from the dealer but i think it was a fluke... is the BTB rare for you guys and is there a lot of demand for it? i had no idea...

Isn't SBM a rock album? What else is it? easy-listening? I think not!! Rock on Joe!!!

phrydom --- thanks for putting up so much cool stuff!!! unfortunately, i can't seem to access them, i clicked on the link you posted but there was nothing there; am i doing something wrong??

I definitely would put SBM under rock as it doesn't seem to fit elsewhere. But such categorisations are for convenience's sake and doesn't necessarily dictate how good the songs are; if it's good music, it's good music, no matter what. Everyone should realise that nobody would want to put out the same album 10 times in a row or whatever. I wouldn't say i love the SBM songs as much as i love others but it still sounds great to me!

Plum Loco --- yeah i did get a major "Led" vibe from New Last Jam (sorry, i've sinned against the Satch by downloading )!! in fact, i get that and a Hendrix vibe quite abit from this album and that's a good thing!! i also feel that it brings together many elements from all his previous albums...! rock on Joe!!

PhryDom --- thank you so very much!! you rock..!!

Fenrir --- As evident from my posts, i support the threaded message board thing. Jon (webmaster) informed me that Joe prefers the T2J this way. But i guess that's a bit of a pity, cos the guys here all seem to know each other well and could talk about many other Satch-related or music-related topics. I'd hate to post off-topic on T2J.

tekoi --- i'm from Singapore and i blast my Live in San Fran DVD quite often but i never get no Satch fans introducing themselves to me!!! hahahahaha!!! Anyway, it's cool to see that there are fans of Joe's music all around the world.. I'm hoping that SBM will have arrived in stores here by tomorrow..i'll keep my fingers crossed!! How about all you guys? any special SBM celebration??

it is Stu not Boo (Austin) --- thanks for all the reviews of the SBM songs; keep them coming!!!

I think that Oriental Melody is a kicka$$ tune and it's definitely one of my favourite tunes on the new album!! The intro is solid stuff and i love the tone on it; I wonder what effects and amp he's using on that?

Belly Dancer : great tune as well!! uplifting stuff with an exotic twist! The solos are fresh and exciting! towards the end, he's playing a solo that's using a lot of alternate picking which is rare for him right? ( ok, i admit it, i'm a guitar player)

Mindstorm is my favourite cos currently i'm in a mood for heavy riffage and i play it every morning... hhahahah!!!

I was lucky enough to get a copy of SBM at HMV on the 25th... unfortunately, i'm not lucky enough to see Joe perform in person....keep it real guys!!

Drafter37 --- no problem!! Feel free to post anytime you want!! Satch fans are found far and wide; fans like me on the other side of the world look forward to posts anytime!!

Oddly enough, Chords of Life isn't my favourite song... but i'm glad so many ppl like it. I was afraid that all the comparisons to "all along the watchtower" would get in the way.

Flavour Crystal 7 is an awesome song with a killer groove!! i really like it... and Turkey man as well. I have absolutely no problem with EOC and never understood why some ppl (and SAtch fans as well) don't like it...!

alien32 --- That's really odd! the first time that came to mind when i heard that barre chord segment in "chords of life" i immediately thought of "all along the watchtower!" well, not that that detracts from the song cos it's still a great song and i actually liked the fact that there was a little Jimi in it!!

As for KWS, perhaps you should listen to his more recent stuff? i know his first album sounds very much like another SRV clone but the "The trouble is..." album was really good and had more of a rock vibe. I have to say that KWS isn't that much of a clone of SRV except for the gear he uses. ONce you hear that SRV tone, you might just dismiss KWS as playing the same kinda stuff that SRV plays but that's not true. Many songs dont' sound like SRV e.g. trouble is, was, in 2 deep, slow ride, blue on black...

sweep_pick --- i think Ibanez will stick to the tilted output jack; I believe Joe has some control over his signature model but so does Ibanez. Get used to it, cos my JS1000 has the tiltet output jack but i also prefer the normal one.

Mak --- it's definitely ok to say negative things about EOC but since many ppl here who initally disliked it now love the album, you ought to try it again!

Hey ppl! with the release of SBM, i know Joe has been featured in Guitar World magazine for this months. However, i would like to know if he has been featured in any other magazines. Any of you could help? there's no longer a Press section on this site...

selphm --- i'm sorry but i don't really understand your question; whatever it is, you shouldn't play in any position that's uncomfortable. When playing the modes in a 3 note per string way, you shouldn't have your thumb over the neck and try to have a one finger per fret kinda rule... hope i make sense.

Austin --- I really dig EOC as well but the funny thing is i never really thought of it as something so completely different and odd that it wouldn't be well-accepted. Every album of Joe's is different and that's what I like about his music!!! So when I first heard EOC i just thought of it as another cool disc from Satch.

Ice9mike --- if i'm not wrong the Chemical Brothers don't use Samples all that much; they are one of those electronic bands that actually don't employ that many samples. A friend of mine was really impressed cos they make up a lot of their sounds when playing live (using computers i think)

Master Yoda --- I have a few friends who feel that Dream Theater's keyboard solos sound cheesy and that guitar synth patch sounds awful! Personally, i always thought it sounded fine; also, whenever i play DT music for friends who aren't that into music/or musicians, they think DT sounds like circus music!!

Hi all!!

have you guys checked out the new photos in the "road' section? I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the new BOSS pedals are in joe's setup which seems to have added stuff! All i could figure out was a BOSS octave pedal and a 2nd BOSS distortion pedal; does joe need that much distortion?? let me know if you guys have answers~

Austin (stu not boo) --- i believe it's pronounced poo-kait or something like that. I've been there before... it's a tourist spot!

Ibztone --- thanks for your help!! I was wondering whether the purple pedal was a Flanger or a Phaser...

Prog X --- I think I have to disagree with you about the keyboard/guitar thing; lots of people pay extra money for collectible items e.g. watches, cars, shoes, books etc so the JS10 Chromeboy is more expensive cos there's a limited production run ( 999 made? correct me if i'm wrong). Also, it takes a lot of work to "chrome" a guitar so there's definitely more effort put in to create the JS10 hence the high price. Ibanez isn't just out to make money (i hope). Most people like the guitar to be suited to their tastes in all aspects, including the design/finish, so playing a guitar they think looks great helps (much like driving a fancy car) them to play better!! I play a JS1000 and I love it...

JSClone 1 --- I myself have tried a PGM several times and I find they are really easy to play. Very minimalistic but its great!

Master Yoda --- A 7 string guitar can be tuned A,B,C,D,E,F,G...

Satch3D --- I've heard your music on IUMA and i used to visit your Satriani website regularly and I have to tell you that you're an amazing guitar player!! you give people aspiring guitarists like me inspiration and hope ! hahaha.... good luck at Berklee! just thought i'd let you know...

Sweep_pick --- Thanks for your help! However, I stillhave one question : what is a Super Shifter?? I have never heard of such a BOSS Pedal; what does it do?

Austin (stu not boo) --- I think you are quite right; the JS10 Chromeboys sold to the public are actually made of lucite ( a kind of plastic) and not wood. I think that's kinda sad isn't it?

orezeno --- i think that Ibanez you saw in the Hard Rock Cafe goes by the name of Black Dog, and was donated by Joe himself!!
