Lord of Karma6, I was wondering about that guitar myself. He played that JS-100 for a couple of tunes when I saw him in Medina, MN. The paint job is hard to even describe...

Well hey, I could not for the life of me, look at one of Joe's tour pictures, and know exactly what show it was, and also be able to see the "Made in Japan" stamp on the Tremolo. Damn, I'm slacking off, I better get my "Know Joe" mojo back on track ;)

I hope everyone had a safe holiday.......

JS Clone, my last post was supposed to be funny, but I think it may have not come out that way. Anyhow, thanks for the info....

JBlaze for "Guitar Guard".........

Joe, It's amazing ! I can actually read notes on a staff. My teacher told me that it is nice to have a student who can basically already play. He does'nt have to show me how to hold the guitar or the pick.....lol

Well, it's Tuesday and I'm off to my music lesson in a little while. I think I'll try and brush up on what I know before I head out there.........Hi Joe

JSC 1, no you are right, I AM a dumb-ass. I need to be reminded of that every once in a while.

Hello all !! Just a quick note on how my lesson went. My teacher told me to bring in any music books that I have been perusing, so I brought in Joe Satriani Guitar Secrets. He looked at the contents, then looked at me and shook his head in dis-belief as if to say "What were you thinking?" lol

Still waiting on my RG......

chron, my teacher has to be in his 50's because he received his Masters Degree in music way back in 1974. I'm assuming he's around that age anyhow.

Ampblaster.....I grew up in Framingham, MA and moved to Minnesota in 92. Where abouts are you in MA?

Hey Jimbo, sorry Bro' I've been kind of busy. I still have the same MSN address, davemccarthy869@msn.com. I'm pretty sure you are still on my online contact list, but I never see you online for some reason. Yeah, I tried an RGT42 when I was out in the Boston area. It played and felt right for some reason and is a little less costly than the JS....sorry Joe....anyhow, I'm expecting it any time now. I also picked up a Fulltone Ultimate Octave, and that should arrive about the same time as the RG.......it's better than Christmas I tell ya....

trutina, very cool site.....I wish I had some recording gear. Maybe I will in time for the holiday CD, if you decide to do it. There are so many different kinds of recording software to choose from, I don't know which one is best.

"Joe Mamma".........lol

Ahhhhh.......friday at last !

We are having a benefit and a jam session Saturday at one of our local establishments.......unfortunately, the benefit is for a friend of mine Greg. I say that because he was given two months to live by his doctor. He is only 38 years old and he spent half of his life smoking dope and cigarettes, now he has lung cancer. I have a real problem because I'm not sure what I'm going to say to him when I see him tomorrow.

Anyhow, hey JSC 1, can you post a link to your "shred" clip? I have a friend who wants to check it out, if thats OK with you.

Good joke Artanis.....heh heh. I think I would scream too !

Yeah, I try not to think of the reasons that he is sick. The irony of it is the fact that he told me last July that he was having problems, and that was when (the reason) I quit smoking cig's. It's hard to believe that it's been almost 10 months since I quit. Anyhow, I can guarantee he is going to have one of the best days ever tomorrow.

LOL Michelle......"G3 Joe" (in)action figure...

Joe, I was curious to know if you have an extensive Jimi Hendrix album collection. I have quite a few that I bought almost 20 years ago that you just can't find anymore. A couple are imports that, according to his bio, were the subject of lawsuits. Obviously, Jimi loved to be in the studio as opposed to touring, and occasionally he would drop in on other famous people of the time and jam with them. Jimi would (as only Jimi would do), give permission to record the session, only to find out later that it was made into an album and marketed. OK I'll stop blabbering, I was just wondering if you have some of those obscure albums that popped up shortly after his death. I find those to be very interesting to listen to. Dave

Happy Sunday to all !! I'm slightly hung-over, but I'll survive. The benefit for Greg went better than expected. Everybody who is anybody was there to cheer him up and chip in to help with his medical expenses. I had'nt seen him in a while and he looked pretty rough, but he was in good spirits. I played bass most of the night, but was able to play guitar on SRV's "Cold Shot", "Pride and Joy", "Riviera Paradise" and a few others that were mostly made up jam sessions. We had a blast !!!!

It is'nt very often you see a JS 90th neck all by itself like that on E Bay. I wonder if it was stolen from the factory or why the heck the guitar was taken apart.....seems stupid to me.

"SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS"

Jimbo, I could'nt possibly name all the good amps out there. If you 're looking for a nice, warm sound just make sure it has tubes in it...lol. More expensive but definately worth it !

Darn it, you beat me Michelle ;)

Hey mick87, when you mentioned Canada, it reminded me of one time when I was travelling through Winnipeg, Manitoba and I saw a Kenny Rogers Chicken restaurant. I decided to make up a parody song of "The Gambler". And it went like this......."You got to know when to roast em'....know when to broast em'......know when to call your bluff, when the chicken is'nt done"..........LMAO......I've tried to finish it but I keep cracking up....lol.

Joe, I was browsing through E Bay and saw that a seller is having a JS studio sale. The store is called Real Guitars in San Francisco. I was just wondering if you were aware of it..............Later, Dave

Hi Joe and everyone ! My Fulltone Ultimate Octave came today, WOW what a sound !! There was a little sticker on the inside of the box that read : "This pedal has true bypass and there may be a slight popping sound for the first few times you engage the pedal. After this has cleared up, immediately play the guitar solo on "Crystal Planet" off of LISF, otherwise promptly return to the manufacturer." LMAO....

Have a great day one and all !!!

trutina, I could only find four album titles that I liked...I hope my vote still counts. I'm looking forward to buying and listening to the CD...

Man, when you turn up the Fuzz on this Octave pedal, you get this Explosive Space-Age Splat. It reminds me of "Purple Haze"......great unit, worth every penny.

Serak, they are kind of expensive..about $200 new. I picked this one up on E Bay from a guy who bought it a month or so ago, and decided he did'nt like it. The pedal is in mint condition and he shipped it in the original box w/papers and a copy of the reciept when he bought it new. I got it for $150 shipping included. It would have been well over $200 if I had bought it from the factory so I figured "What the hey"

Artanis, that did not compute !!! Say that again?

Edit: Serak, it came with a cool bumper sticker too !!! ;)

Artanis, I figured it was Aussie slang of some sort, I guess I should have read between the lines.....lol. Yes, it is a very versatile pedal. So far I've found that the fuzz switch works well as a boost for leads. And the icing on the cake is of course the octave-up. The octave-up works extremely well when I'm using the neck pick-up.

Joe, on your Fulltone, do you leave the tone knob at zero? I think there is way too much "hissing" when you turn it past "noon". On zero, I still get the right sound with out the noise.......cool pedal !!

Ovation, cool...thanks. It looks like it's an older model, but I'm sure the knobs are set the same. I'm sure his pedals settings need to be tweaked to different spots depending on the acoustics of the venue. You would think anyways....

Artanis, actually I got two stickers. One with the pedal, and one with the power supply I had to buy from Fulltone. BONUS !!!

GuitarGoose, yes unfortunately, Stevie was killed in a helicoper crash in Wisconsin in 1990 or '91. That was a very hard day for me personally. Wisconsin is'nt even a safe state to drive through....too many deer....lol

I guess if there had'nt been two helicopters there that day, Eric Clapton would also have been a victim of that crash. That would have been almost too much to handle....

Michelle, on the way to pick up my kids, Stevie's song "Tightrope" came on the radio. I got a chill up my spine.....God I miss him....it's such a tragedy.

I'm taking out "Riviera Paradise" and listening to it right now !!!
