trutina, that's a great quote..lol...I'm sure Joe could easily smoke the both of them if he really wanted to.....honestly though I have'nt even heard any of Vai's stuff yet, and I'm certain that it is'nt Joe's style to show anyone up.

tapper5, that Mick and Dave's site is still corrupted. I've been waiting for it to be fixed so I can get the "Rubina" backing track. I know there is another version that was done with the Guitar Pro software, but I don't remember the link. And besides, the Guitar Pro versions sound like old video games from the 80's...lousy.
Joe, you are my expiration.....LMAO.....(only joking)

JBlaze for guitar guard !!
In my opinion, you would have to BE Joe to sound like Joe. I was jamming with my friends the other night, and we went into a fast blues shuffle. I'll tell you what, I have'nt had that much fun playing guitar in a long time. It finally occured to me that the blues is where I belong, and that as much as I would love to play like Joe, I don't think I would be totally happy doing that. I've given up on trying to emulate him and I'm just going to enjoy myself. I can't play like the man, but he sure inspires me to keep playing.........Peace, D@ve

Long live John "Bonzo" Bonham......no one has ever pounded the piss out of a drum kit as he......
I read years ago that shortly before he passed, he drank four quadruple vodka's.....four !!! Exactly how many shots is that? You could try it and find out, but you'd probably die of a stroke.
Edit: I was told that it's sixteen shots....all within 10 or 15 minutes. I mean absolutely no disrespect to JB, just thought you all might like to know exactly why he perished...

Hello all......I picked up "Crystal Planet" at the music store yesterday for $12.99....I thought that was a good price !
OK, I'm finally going to buy my 1st Vai CD, I know I've asked before, but what should my 1st one be? "Passion and Warfare" or "Alien Love Secrets"? Or how about I just get both...lol.....Peace, D@ve

Leanna, my favorite Pink Floyd song(s) would have to be "Fearless", "Goodbye Blue Sky", "Is There Anybody Out There"...I could go on and on...lol..."Echoes" is another good one...
Michelle, that is really sick.....maybe those guys in the band should kill themselves too so we don't have to deal with them anymore....
ToneCapone, sorry about your loss.

Fretslayer, "Home" is my fav off of that CD too, with "Luminous Flesh Giants" coming in a very close 2nd...
Michelle, your "It's better to be pissed off" saying is so very very true...LOL
We had a gig Sat. night in town here. We played Jimi's "The Wind Cries Mary" for the 1st time in front of a crowd. It went extremely well (because I did'nt screw up).....lol....but I did mess up on the 1st guitar solo in "Comfortably Numb"....(just a little) :P
Peace...D@ve
Edit: I know its important to play what comes from your heart, but Pink Floyd is just one of those bands that requires you play it the way they did, otherwise it sounds (not right)

49 safe stabs....lol....good link Austin. My son thought that was a riot.....
Whooaa....the big 5-0-0.......another milestone.
Joe, does your fingering hand still get tired or stiff when you're playing, or is that a thing of the past? I find that the 1st set of just about every gig is a tough one, after that it loosens up.
What are y'all using to keep your fretboard clean? Any particular brand or home remedy? My guitar is accumulating quite a bit of "peanut butter" around the frets...any suggestions? I used to use lemon oil but was told I'd be burned at the stake if I used it again. Peace, D@ve
