Wow....so many posts so little time...lol !

Joe.....I was going to save this question for your Monday night MSN chat, but what the hey.......How did you come up with the title of your new CD? Was it from the fan suggestion poll that you did with SBM or were there other influences?

I know you're going to get bashed with questions on monday so I figured I'd have a better chance in here ;)

And NO MegaBoyd....you can't ask him this one, you don't have my permission...LMAO !! just kidding Bro' :P

Was Joe in the chatroom again? What time was that? Darn it I'm always somewhere else. Hey wait a minute, I was at a club getting paid to play. $200 for two nights, I guess I won't complain. I heard there were some people power questioning Joe.....would'nt it be nice if you just asked him ONE question and let everyone else have a shot too. Just a thought.

Hey MegaBoyd......I'm assuming you are going to the Hendrix tribute at the Warfield. Is the Backstage Bandit on the loose again? lol !

Humor of the day......

When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home parked on a Seattle street, he got much more than he had bargained for. Police arrived to find a violently ill thief curled up retching next to the motor home, surrounded by spilled sewage. Apparently he plugged his hose into the motor home's sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges, saying that it was the best laugh he ever had. heh heh....Can you say "One sandwich short of a picnic"?

PhryDom...those are great ideas. I found that putting the guitar down for a week works great for clearing my mind up. I also like to pound on an acoustic once and a while to remind myself how calloused my fingers "are'nt".

Hendrix Tribute Album for 2004 or 2005 !!!

Jazzy Boy...Django was incredible, especially when you consider how many fingers he did'nt have.

Joe......what inspired you to call your new album "Is There Love in Space" ?

ToneCapone......I totally agree with you about Janie Hendrix. I think the only positive thing she's done for Jimi is to make him more popular than ever. About Jimi having children? I do not doubt that it's possible that he sired a couple in his short life. The only claim I ever heard of was a couple of years ago. A fellow from the UK claimed that he was Jimi's son, and I did'nt believe it until I saw his picture....he is a mirror image of JH....amazing....I never did hear anymore about his claim so it must have been false. Anyways....yes....how does a step-sister gain control of such a vast empire?

Joe.......did you get a chance to read my question? ;)

On a happier note...I finally got my Honda Accord in the shop... (I got shmucked by a deer last November).....I found out my insurance covered a rental car....they gave me a 2001 Chevy Impala....the rental is nicer than my own car !! LOL...I should just keep the Chevy and let them keep my car ;)

SOTD....."Don't Pawn Your Guitar".......not really a song but a good title I think.

Edit: Whats with the weird double-half post? Did I do that?

Shogun Vai.....I'll be able to un-pawn it by next monday only because I'm playing two gigs this weekend. And yes, I still have a 1973 Fender Strat that plays like a dream. I would'nt take that guitar within a mile of a pawn shop...lol !

Now that I think of it...I sure am glad I learned to play guitar....it has gotten me through some really tough times as far as money and mental well-being is concerned.

962...funny that you say that...the guy I bought it from fell on hard times a few years ago and pawned it at the same store (he ended up buying it back a month later).....needless to say he did'nt get anything near what the guitar is worth, probably enough to pay a bill and buy some groceries. Fortunately he was able to get it back for what he sold it for. It might have cost him $20 for the loan (so to speak)......yes it does play like a dream...it's not in mint condition cosmetically, but it plays like bread and butter.

Question....what effect is Joe using on "Trumdrumbalind" ? I'm guessing one of his Fulltone units? A Univibe maybe?

JS JS....I noticed that the Ibanez website has the PAF Pro as part of the JS 1200.....it's supposed the be the PAF "Joe" is'nt it? OK somebody fire that guy...lol !

Joe.....are you using a Rotovibe on "Trumdrumbalind" ? Or maybe a Fulltone Deja-vibe?

Trutina.....sounds like you have a wonderful and devoted woman and I hope you get well very soon...hang in there Bro'.

The JS 1200 is identical to the JS 1000 with the exception of the new PAF "Joe" pick-up.

Most listened to JS album this month : Crystal Planet.......I don't have a least listened to album....they all get equal attention...lol !

Nobody can guess what effect Joe is using on "Trumdrumbalind" ? Hmmmm...I guess I'll figure it out myself.

MegaBoyd....you are so right about the way "Devil's Slide" comes in.....my 9 year old son loves that tune.

Master Yoda & PhryDom...thanks, I knew I'd get a rise out of someone ;)

eta.....I've spent a great deal of time trying to get that pinch harmonic trick down without much success. A well intonated guitar is a good way to begin, about all I can do is quote from Joe's guitar secrets book. So here goes nothin'...."You need to be familiar with the technique of creating harmonics with the right-hand thumb. This is accomplished by allowing a bit of your right-hand thumb to touch the string or strings as they are picked. Start with a broad downstroke across strings 4, 3 and 2 about four inches from the bridge. Use the right-hand thumb technique to create two or three harmonics. Simultaneously, reach over with your left hand, grab the bar, and swiftly but smoothly bringing it down, then up as far as you can. Hold it for a brief moment, then quickly bring it down until the strings fret out. This should take about 4 seconds." wow...I think that is the longest post ever from me...lol....I hope you have better luck with it than I have.

Master Yoda...you are entirely right about "Cryin"....I was able to pick up that tune fairly easy because it's not overly technical....but to really grab it I need to pour my heart into it every time. And most of the time it's still not enough...lol ! It's such a beautiful song I can't help but play it....

Woo hoo !!! My tax return will be here today, that means I can get my Ibanez out of the pawn shop ! Some higher power must have sensed my suffering and sent down a miracle. Or maybe it was just fast processing by the IRS...lol ! Did anyone else (in the US) get duped by that advanced child credit thing this year. If I had known that the $300 was a loan I would have sent it back. Or maybe not...I used it to buy my RG..lol...oh well....what goes around, comes around.

Live in Denver DVD should have came to my local music store today...can't wait to get my hands on it.

The G3 DVD is awesome !!! Man what a raw sound he's getting now. Joe.....that JSX sounds incredible....definately a noticable difference in your sound !

I hate to say it but Steve Vai stole the show.....in-fu****ing-credible !! "I know You're Here" is simply amazing.

I can understand people not liking Yngwie because he has a cocky personality, but c'mon...he's smokin'..a little repetative maybe but he's still a lunatic on the guitar. He's a great entertainer...give em' a break...lol !

I have to agree with Clarky..."Wish You Were Here" is tops.....I think "Have a Cigar" is one of my favorite Floyd songs ever......many, many hits of acid were ingested listening to those guys.....amazing I survived with a few cells left in my melon.
