Michelle....glad to hear that your niece's son is doing good....I remember that day very well.....it sounds like he's going to be a well adjusted kid....best of luck to him and your niece.

Joeman9.....yeah, I was referring to our lord and protector of guitar players everywhere ;) And no it's not an ad for a date..lol...it's just a couple of the alias' I've had since I joined here a few years ago, I thought the people who remembered those "nicks" would find it a little humorous. Peace, D@ve

On the issue of posting too much.....I've been here about 2 years, maybe 3...and I've only posted 652 times. Some people have only been here a few months and are passing me up already.....just my two cents.

Clarky.....no, I have'nt heard that yet....link me up Bro' ! We (as in the band) recently added "Time" and "Comfortably Numb" to our setlist.....of all the songs we do, I get the most pleasure out of soloing those two tunes.

And I must add that David Gilmour has been a major influence to my playing style over the years...I love the guy !

TASTEY...my GF and I live in a two bedroom apartment (top floor of a house)...very spacious and remodeled nicely for $400 a month plus electric. My brother gets disgusted every time I tell him how much I pay, because out in the Boston area you would pay $1200 for the same place. But on the other hand, the economy sucks up here right now so the rent is just right for our situation.

Clarky.....you are extremely talented...why are'nt you living on an estate, filty rich, shaking uncontrollably from ragged drug abuse Ozzy-style? LOL

I'm assuming everyone is familiar with Mick & Dave's Satriani backing track website? Anyways, I tried to download the backing track for "Cryin" but now I can't find it anywhere on my GF's computer !! I have it on my own PC, but that is sitting in a closet collecting dust. Why can't I find it? Any PC geeks out there that could help me locate the file?

962......I totally agree....I get a kick out of these people or organizations....take Osama Bin Laden for example...for a guy who believes so strongly in what he's doing, he murders innocent people and then goes and hides. Why does'nt he at least have the nuts to go on TV on say "Hey, I did it" ? I'd love to get in front of a room full of his followers and tell them what a "Chickenshit" their leader is. OK, enough venting from me..........

Trutina....we love ya man !!!!

Miranda.....that's great to hear that he's coming around a bit.....excellent news !

My opinion of the G3 DVD so far..........Steve Vai...Steve Vai...Steve f***in Vai !!!! I've been watching his set over and over again.....I can't get enough....did someone mention a Live at the Astoria DVD? I'll be needing to get my hands on that....man oh man can he rip on the fiddle.

Has anyone heard from JS Clone 1 ? He has'nt made an appearance here in quite a while.....just curious.

Trutina....bless your heart....very pleased to see your words being read here.....and a sense of humor to top it all off..lol....you made my day Bro'......keep swingin' !!!

Joeman9....I'm sure Joe is older than Steve....(sorry Joe, just guessing :P )

962-Simon.....I went down to my favorite music store today and ordered the Vai DVD...should be here on Wednesday......I just can't get over how good he is...very confident....and certainly NOT pretentious (did I spell that right?)...like someone posted earlier, I smelled a bit of envy there...lol....anyhow I'm looking forward to watching that. Peace, D@ve

Joeman9.....he did'nt mean literally...it's just an expression of how frustrating guitar playing (on a learning level) can be. Take myself for example.....I've spent hours upon hours trying to improve my playing abilities and I've made incredible strides in the last year alone. And sometimes it only takes a few minutes of watching Joe or Steve to put me back in my place. Sometimes watching makes me want to throw my guitar in the trash can, but a majority of the time it pumps me up to keep playing...nuff said.

Shame on you Paul Reed Smith.....you should know better. I wonder why Gibson has'nt gone after Carvin Guitars...they make a single cutaway LP style guitar too. Now that I think of it, I've seen many variations of the LP style. But I would imagine it would be impossible to go after every single company that copies. It never occured to me that Gibson would have a trademark on that body style considering how many copies I see in music stores.

A Floyd on a LP? Wow I'd love to try that out once.....I had an early 60's SG with a Floyd Rose in it, but I felt that it killed the sound quality of the guitar body. I took it on a trade when I was 16 and did'nt know shit from shinola. Cube...what does the kill switch do for you besides the obvious? lol

The updated website looks really cool...thanks Jon !!

Someone should tell Ibanez that they are advertising the JS 1200 with a DiMarzio PAF Pro and not the PAF "Joe".....

Jazzy Boy....I don't know what the specs are for the "Joe" pick-up such as, the number of coil windings or its specific output, I just know it was designed to be better suited to the DiMarzio "Fred".....you can really hear it good on the G3 '03 DVD....then again that raw sound he's getting now could be the pick-up AND the Peavey JSX combined. Either way it sounds Smokin' !!!!

Whoa.....check out my number of posts !!! I better get my ass to church...lol....NOT !!!

Trutina......"I felt about as smart as a can of corn"......Bah ha ha ha ha....good one Bro' !

Artanis...I agree with you on the "Crush of Love" song playing in the LISF menu....kind of irritating (but only a little).

J.J. Jackson......Rest in Peace.....does anyone know the cause of death? He was an MTV pioneer.....way, way before it was ruined by rap music. Does anyone remember when MTV had the "Closet Classic's" ? They would put on Hendrix and the Doors and a whole bunch of other bands from the 60's...it was cool.

SOTD......."Lenny"....by Stevie Ray Vaughan !

Happy saturday everyone !!

Trutina.....I thought the same thing your wife did about Steve's triple-neck guitar. It definately seemed like overkill until I watched him make use of all three for the song he did. It totally blew me away.....I'm still waiting for my Live at The Astoria DVD to get here......can't wait !

Why does it seem like I always see the weirdest or funniest things when I'm playing a gig somewhere? Two weeks ago, a couple got into an argument while we were playing and ended up on the dance floor, with her swinging wildly (and connecting quite a few times) at her husband. Next thing you know they get tangled up, and "Off came her sweatshirt". So here is this 200+ lb woman in just a bra (which was so big you could measure 1st downs with it)....beating the snot out of her old man.....not a pretty sight. And then last night at a gig, a woman totally drunk off her arse, somehow lost her footing while dancing and skidded across the dance floor on her face and broke her nose. Yes there was blood EVERYWHERE !!! Then the police show up to find out what he heck happened.....never a dull moment in show buisness...lol !

MXC is hilarious.....what'll they think of next? LOL

Does anybody need a guitar player? I'm sick of playing top 40....nobody around here has the gumption to write their own material and test it out at a club. Hmmm...maybe I'll have to do something about that. Peace, D@ve
