VFRocker......very cool factualities.....although I'm kind of glad I was brought into this existence in the 1960's and not the 1060's...lol.....it must have sucked not having certain luxuries but then again, they did'nt know any better. What was the life expectancy back then? 30?

That reminds me....if anyone is feeling a bit morbid today...go here......it's a nice reality check....lol !

962-Simon.......very nice axe...I've always loved the white Jem. Why do you want to part with such a beautiful guitar?

Michelle....congrats on the new car.....I've been considering a new car for my girlfriend so she can get around after our baby is born. I had to laugh at the new Kia commercial on the radio....."Two Kia's for the price of one"......it's like buying hamburger buns....lol !! How about naming your car "Cactus Satch"? lol ;)

962.....you are right about the vai-clone thing...although none of my friends would ever figure out I was playing a signature guitar....they just don't get out enough..lol. Anyhow...you are making an excellent choice as far as a replacement...Strats are tone machines. I just picked up a Mex-Strat with a flame maple top for almost half of what it costs right out of the factory. I am having some issues with tuning at the moment though. I'll be all tuned up nice and suddenly the B or the high E string will be severely sharp....so I'll tune it back down and the next thing you know it's way flat....I'm thinking that the tuning keys are crap or it's binding somewhere....it's frustrating because I'm running out of ideas on how to cure it. Hope you get a fair price for your Jem...I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I had the $$$.

Michelle......"Baby-Bean" is due to arrive on or around March 5th :)

SupaaDave is the big 3-5 today....Boooyaa !!! As usual it fell on a weekday, so I can't go out and get (as the British like to say) "pissed out of me brains"....lol....I know for sure I'm going to get a few slugs of Jack Daniels courtesy of my girlfriend's dad. Hey...I can catch a little buzz and still get up for work :P

Have a nice day everyone !

Here's a good one....a friend of mine got to watch my G3/Denver DVD...and he had never seen Dr.Vai at work....we're still trying to find his jaw...lol !

Rest in peace Rick James.....the "SuperFreak" has left the building.......

Our band is playing at the St. Louis County Fair tonight from 8 to 11pm....we also played there this past Thursday evening. Fair-goers are a tough crowd...the only way we'll get an audience is if it starts raining and they shut down the rides..lol. But then I remember....hey....I'm getting $250 to play for a two-night total of 5 hours. To pay me such a generous sum for having so much fun is beyond reason....lol !

Enjoy the rest of the weekend Satchland !!

As far as Jimi Hendrix....I believe that the accidental death theory is pretty solid. A few years ago I read a chilling account of what most likely happened...and it said that the sleeping pills were his girlfriend's and that he took too many, not knowing the proper dosage. And that, combined with the bottle of wine they shared, left him nearly paralyzed (which was temporary)..and when he needed to roll over to clear his airway...he could'nt without assistance. So either his girlfriend should have known that (which she understandably did not)...or the ambulance attendant should have cleared his airway for him....and he should have because that is what they are trained to do. So I say the attendant was definately at fault.

962....I guess we'll just have to ask Jimi ourselves, whichever one of us gets there first....lol. Then again...Jimi better be somewhere else besides heaven because they're not going to let me in :P

Clarky.....thanks for the "Tip of the day" in regards to the screw on the underside of the tremolo arm housing on the Lo-TRS bridge.....it solved my problem.

But yet another problem has arose.....I noticed between songs at our gig last weekend that the reverb on my Fender started popping in and out of usefulness. The amp is due for some new tubes but I don't think it's related to the problem.

Also...I need new brakes...a new windshield..a new water pump...tires...hmmm....what else can I think of....lol !

Quote of the day : Mo' Money !!

Congrats to all you guys who contributed to the T2J CD......you should be proud of yourselves.

Joe....I'm sure I'm speaking for these guys by saying it would be cool to hear your opinion of each song or the entire CD as a whole. Later....Dave

962...yeah that would have been a shame to see that guitar get re-sprayed. I honestly don't think that guy had any idea what he had. It looked like an original Donnie Hunt....but it did'nt say if it was or not. I thought those "Donnies" were going for close to $10,000 if you could even find one. Then again it might have been a Herc Fede custom paint job. Later, Dave

Do The Stu....yeah... I realized that after my last post. It's still funny how much the guy (and apparently everyone else there) absolutely hated the paint job....I think the DH artwork is cool.

I could'nt access Herc's website but I think he'll do a "Donnie" reproduction for around $600.....if anyone happens to have that to piss away.

Michelle....glad to see you had a nice B-Day ! L'ed MAO reading about your daughter going ass-over-teakettle...lol ! Yes...one candle for each decade is acceptable I suppose...or like my family did on my 35th...just put a "3" and a "5" candle on the cake. It's still cheating though ;P

Yoda...I have to disagree....last nights (cold) barbecue chicken is tasting pretty darn good right now....but pizza is a very close 2nd place.

Anybody ever heard of a band called "Tornado Alley"? A bass player friend and I are starting a new band and are trying to solve the name issue.....Considering we probably won't hit it big or anything, I think it's a good name...and I've never heard of any other band by that name.

Zachary....nice to see you are still lurking....thanks again for the "TremBolt"....

Delfino Pie.....you don't want to play with guys like that anyways....it sounds like there is too much ego in that band. And here is what my response would have been :

Guy 1: So how long have you been playing?

SupaaDave: Oh about two years or so....

Guy 1: (laughs) come see us when you know how to play.

SupaaDave: Oh yeah...well tell your mother to get over it and stop calling my number and hanging up....we're through, and I've found someone else !

OK you British folk...I'm doing a crossword puzzle and one of the questions is "14 pounds, in London". It's a five letter word and the 4th letter is an "N"........any takers?

VFRrocker.....thanks mate....that was the kicker that helped me finish the damn thing....lol !

No one had any negative comments about "Tornado Alley" being a good band name...or positive ones for that matter. I don't think I heard a single response to the question at all...lol. Anyhow.....like Austin once said..."It depends on what kind of music we are playing"....and I think it fits quite nicely myself. Tornado Alley lives !!

Way to go Jazzy......I wish I could have gone to that show, but driving 500 miles round trip on a work night just would not have been wise.

If Joe comes back this way on his "Evening With" tour (HINT-HINT)...I'll make sure to get the next day off so my girl and I can chill in a hotel room after the show. Please come back"Joe"...Lela needs to see you play live ;)

Ovation.....cool...thanks for the thumbs up on the band name. I thought of it years ago but had never seemed to be in the right situation to use it. The other two guys like it so it's official. Yes, we are a "Power Trio"....something I've always dreamed of doing, but would actually prefer to have a guitarist/keyboard player....similar to Eric Caudieux's role in Joe's previous band. Ahh...I can dream can't I ? lol.....Eric Caudieux is a mountain of talent...I miss him in the band.

Zenfish....have you heard ZZ Top's album "Tejas" ? Smokin' album..check it out ! My favorite song on that album is "El Diablo"......way too cool......
