Howdy Satchland....
The "Operation Rudolph" gig went well....us and about 80 members of various northern Minnesota motorcycle clubs had a blast. The only problem, was that someone had to hand me a small glass of whiskey at the start of the night...and I sipped on it (and beer)...with constant refills all night. So needless to say, my give-a-shit-o-meter was bottomed out towards the end of the night...I was blitzed ! We had a blast and raised almost $10,000....booyaa !!

Hey Joe....I was just flipping through TV channels and I happened to stop at "Problem Child 2" starring the late John Ritter. Next thing you know they're in a restaurant and a food fight starts to the sounds of "Satch Boogie"....lol....!!! Cool !

Great news about Steve Vai's new CD and tour dates. It's also nice to hear that he's willing to swing over to St Paul, MN and do a show for us...unlike some other musical acts I know.

SteveeT......That's almost exactly what happened to me. I was a diehard SRV fan when he left us... I just kind of lost hope for a while...and listeniing to Joe again brought me back to my senses.
By the way....really cool tunes at your site, but it almost sounds like you're holding back.....let it rip Bro' !!

PFields.....I was trying to create a link to a picture of myself at a recent "gig" so everyone here could finally have a face to go with the big mouth ;) Unfortunately, it also meant that everyone would also have access to personal pictures that I don't want them to see. Stevee T......I managed to have a more concentrated listen to your tunes today and I may have underestimated you. "Letting it all hang out" was'nt exactly a mental image I need to see..lol....but you do in fact tear it up on Amex. And "Paris Blue" is super cool !

Happy Sunday Satchland !!
Well...I had a first at our gig last night. I broke two strings almost simultaneously....my D went and then the B followed a split second later ! I was playing Gilmour's ending solo on "Comfortably Numb"......actually the very end of it...so it was'nt too embarassing....lol. We decided a while back to make our band a power trio and it's worked out wonderfully. Theres so much less stress and so much more freedom of expression for me personally......I'm finally at a "happy place" with my life in music :)

Zinc......I'm just yanking your chain buddy....you've found and pasted some funny shit here. I have co-workers who are still laughing at some of the stuff you have brought to our attention. It was'nt too long ago that this place was somewhat dismal and people were bickering constantly over trivial issues. It's nice to have the camaraderie (did I spell that right?) and humor here again ;)
I know I don't talk to everyone here but I do listen quite a bit...and I just want to wish every last person here a safe and happy holiday. All of you are inspiring to me and some of you are just plain f@@@ing genius.....I for the life of me can't figure out why you don't have record contracts ;)
Me personally.....I've been a hack guitar player for 20+ years....I'm not hot in the theory department but I know my shit and I would drop whatever I'm doing and jam with any of you anytime. The "Satch" Brother / Sisterhood is for me, something I need in my life, to remind me who I am and what I can be. Peace, love and all that happiness crap...lol......SD

Rest in Peace Reggie White....the "Minister of Defense"......the NFL and all of it's fans will miss you. Reggie passed away of a heart attack at his home early this morning.....I believe he was 43

virtuososean....I'm pretty sure Joe does'nt use a Fernandes Sustainer. But at one time or another he has used a "FatFinger"...which is clamped to the headstock for added weight and the resulting extra sustain. As far as the Les Paul goes....I would'nt touch it...that thing should sustain indefinately just looking at it 8)
