Hey webmaster - very cool new look indeed my man, but I have 1 suggestion...

With the old site, I used to be able to rapidly scroll down until I caught a flash of blue from Joe and would then stop to read his post and the posts around it.....

Would it be possible to include some facilty to list (and go to) Joe's and the bands posts, so that we can still do this.

Roll on the 25th!!!

Hey!

Webmaster fella! Thanks for putting the 'Joe Messages' button up after my suggestion - talk about speedy serviice!

KB1 my friend- everytime WITHOUT FAIL that I have heard one of Joe's albums, I never fully appreciate it as I always remember Joe's last album and compare it to that. What you need to realise is that every album he has released is stylistically different to the last and is FRESH. He would get bored out of his mind (as I'm sure many of us would) if he released more of the same each time. I'm sure he could do it. I'm sure when he's practicing, he wails away like a loony playing things that sound like straight rock tunes that would still blow us all away. The fact is, he is growing, he's in a different space when he creates each album and he's sharing his journey with us, as honestly as he can.

Unfortunately for him, it's then out of his hands whether or not you like what he's released. He is, in my mind, one of the only artists around who tries to move on, innovate and re-invent himself regularly to provide real music that is from his heart, and not written to make easy sales for people stuck in the late eighties and early nineties!

You are entitled to your opinion my man, and all power to you for it. But I go along with the other posters who suggest putting CP or Surfing in your CD player if that's what you want to hear!

SBM took me 2 listens to get into it (I heard it for the first time yesterday and can't wait to buy it on the 25th!) - and my opinion is that the title really does sum it up. It's not Rock. It's not Techno...

...It really is STRANGE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!

Peace to all. The sun is shining in London!

Happy rehearsing Joe and the boys.... Sukh

Alien 32 / JS Clone 1:

Regarding JS10ths - I have one and play the hell out of it - including gigging at least once a month and weekly rehearsals and it's fine!!

If you put some clear static-cling on it around the area where your arm rests and under the strings to prevent pick scratches, you should have no problems. I've been using mine in this way for over a year and it's in as good a shape as the day I got it.

The tone, whilst different to a standard JS1000 (I have one also), is a monster - plenty of growl and definitely great bottom end. If you get the chance to plug one of these babies in, go for it - they are far too pretty looking and great sounding to not be played!

peace. Toady

2 Days to the Bush! Can't wait!

JS Clone1: Re the JS 10th Chromeboy - yeah, very expensive list price, but I got mine for £700.... perfect condition! As for the sound, it's all in the setup. I play live with the Js1000 and the Chromeboy and people always ask how I get such a thick sound with both guitars and ALWAYS are mesmerised by the chrome! Betweeen guitar changes, I tweak the treble slightly to cater for the slightly brighter sounding Chromeboy and it sounds just great.

Don't get me wrong, the wood of the Js1000 sounds better to my ears, but the 10th should not be dismissed - it really does sound pretty flipping wild!

I've recorded a demo with it if you (or anyone for that matter!) wants to hear it. Someone will need to help me out though - I have it as a 28mb WAV file on my PC and have absoultely NOOOO idea how to upload!

peace 2 all.... Toady..

Hey! The Gig at the Bush last night was absolutely awwesome! You guys in Birmingham are in for a real treat tonight - the supporting act, brief though it was, was also fairly mindblowing.

A good day out, also met a nice dude - Chromeboy 1999 (hey Mark!) and got Mr. Campitelli's drum-stick! Chromeboy 1999 - when I get the chance, I'll send you some photo's from the gig and also that mp3 of the JS10th song I was telling u about (once I've figured out how to convert it!). Nice meeting you mate!

take it easy all, Toady

Hey Chromeboy_1999! Great to meet you too - certainly made the 4 hours wait outside pass quicker! 'Wheres my drumstick..' what are you like?!

Thanks for the link to the backing tracks - I'll check them out later today. I have some pretty cool photo's, which I'll send to you sometime this weekend. I also need to do a little investigation to convert that wav to mp3 so I can send you/put up the Js10 demo..

Wife is out shopping, the sun is shining and I have the house to myself to make a bunch of noise!

catch u soon mate - my email is sukh_ryatt@totalise.co.uk

p.s. Js1000 is in the post to you (uh-huh!)

So many cool reviews of the gigs - which I think proves this is one of the best tours Joe has given us! Just a real pity that we're gonna have to wait for him to come back again... oh well, at least we have the dvd to fill in the time!

JS Clone1,.... I go on hols for 1 week this Thursday... my mission it to try and figure out how to convert my 26mb JS10th demo into a smaller mp3 and then how to upload it somewhere... it's all rocket science to me!

Have a wicked day all... catch u later.

Toady.

Hey! Chromeboy_1999 and JS Clone1....

I've managed to convert my demo (recorded with a JS10th) to mp3 and, in the interest of speed, am trying to mail it to you both right now....

if anyone else wants to hear it, it may be smarter to figure out how to upload it somewhere... let me know!

My wife is watching a crazy indian movie... it's driving me nuts!

hope you're all well, catch u later...

Hey! It's monday (groan!).

JS Clone1, Chromeboy_1999 - sorry the JS10th mp3 demo didn't get through. I was having some trouble mailing from home, but I guess that it won't get through to you JS as it's 3.5mb in size...

Chromeboy, I've just resent to you and it seems to have gone through ok this time. Let me know if u get it!

Death Cube K - hey, thanks for the interest (would you like me to mail it to you?) - but I really don't know how to put the mp3 'out there' on the web and am about to go on holidays this week for 1 week, so unless someone wants to help out in putting the demo up for me somewhere, I'll have to wait til I'm back to figure it out!

Death Cube K - thanks man, I tried the links but IUMA seems to be down for now and (cos pesky work gets in the way!) I don't have time right now to figure out mp3.com to upload the JS10th demo. BTW - good luck with the cast mate! Sounded nasty...

JS Clone1 - I'm resending the demo to you at the address you mailed to me... let me know if u get it.

Chromeboy_1999 - At last! You got the demo! Thanks for your kind words - I'd be interested to hear your opinion of how you think the JS10 sounds (considering that was originally the reason all this started!)

Dear all, Chromeboy_1999 (a very nice guy indeed!) has offered, time depending, to try and upload my little JS10th demo somewhere for those who are interested to hear it. The reason for this whole thing, for those who haven't been following, is to show that the JS10th is one hell of a cool sounding guitar, even if it isn't made of wood!

If you're interested, please let me know, I can either mail it to you (I go on hols in a couple of days) or it may be uploaded somewhere soon either by me or Chromeboy_1999 (thanks a ton for the feedback dude!).

2 days to holiday - woohoo!!

Chromeboy_1999.. thank you so very much for putting up my JS10th demo on the web - You are truly a diamond geezer!

Everyone, I just only met chromeboy_1999 in the queue for the Shepherds Bush gig and he's gone out of his way to help me do this. Just goes to show what a cool community there is here on satriani.com and what a cool bunch of people there are using it! I owe you a beer mate!

For those who are interested and do have a listen, I'd really appreciate any suggestion on a name for the track - for the life of me I can't think of one.

I know they are expensive, and I know that you have to be more careful with them than other guitars, but if anyone is considering getting a JS10th and has the opportunity to do so, I hope the demo puts to rest some concerns people have that it doesn't sound so hot because it ain't made of wood!

Hope you're all enjoying your days... 1 more day until my holiday! Woohoo!

peace 2 all.

Toady.

Hi,

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've read that Joe uses XL120's (9-42's) as well... doesn't really matter I guess - the man plays like a wild thing regardless!

I use 9-42's and go crazy with my whammy without any stability problems at all.

Almost holiday time!! Toady

Joe - u da man!

Thanks for a truly amazing show at Shepherds Bush. If you speak to Mr. Campitelli, please say a HUGE thank you for throwing his drumstick at me, which now takes pride of place next to the pick you threw at me on the extremist tour!

And to the people who went for the stick at the same time and missed... nya nya nya-nya nya!

Ahem.

Today.

So nice to see blue again... but seems real strange that after only being here less than a week ago, Joe's on the other side of the world again!

Death Cube K - thanks man - I appreciate you checking out my little demo and glad you liked it! I'm working on another one during the rest of this week before I go back to work next week (boooo!).

Chromeboy_1999 - did u get the photo's mate? Let me know, otherwise I can send you a CD with all the pics I took at the Bush..

System of A Down spinning in my CD player right now - Chop Suey is a mad song!

And finally.... I was just on Channel 4 television (in the UK!) My 2 two minutes of fame! Man, I got to lose some weight...

Safe evening all! Toady.

Hello!

Phryigian Dominant and Chromeboy_1999 - there's a series on Channel 4 called 'A Place in France' about 2 guys from the uk going to france to buy an old ruin and turn it into a nice house. I know both of the guys and was at one of their houses with my wife last year when they were filming. They asked me to bring my guitar along and we had a bit of a party while trying out drinks they had brought back from their trip. Anyways, long story short, they showed about a 1 minute sequence of us in their house trying these drinks - my wife (if anyone saw it) was the one who tried the drink, screwed up her face and went 'Eughh! I don't like it!'. I was the dude in the grey t-shirt (no speaking part!).

Unfortunately, they didn't show any playing, but my amp appeared briefly in the background. 5 seconds of fame! Better not give up the day job just yet though..!

Michelle - really glad you're ok - I'm amazed at the amount of a**hole drivers I seee out there every day.

Chromeboy - Glad you got the pics mate - feel free to use them as you wish! Hope you're well - your drumstick is alive and kicking!

Last day of holiday. Booooooooooo! Have fun all. Toady.

Joe - oh man, just heard about Pearly - I am SO gutted for you..

TO THE PERSON WHO TOOK THIS GUITAR... From everyone on T2J - PLEASE return this guitar to Joe - you may have thought that this was just one of a hundred guitars he owns, so he wouldn't miss it. I'm sure you if you knew how much this guitar meant to him and the sentimental value he places on it, you wouldn't have done it.

SO PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING AND RETURN IT!!

Man, I'm still so upset for you Joe - I really wish there was something I could do to help. Tell ya what - I'm willing to donate my JS10th to you - I'll give it to ya - it's yours man!

Sure, I'll miss it, but I know it'll be in good hands. Just promise to play the hell out of it for me and send me the occasional postcard!

I'll go change the strings for you - just wait there man!
