McDave, as for nicnames, I've had only one ~ MICHELLE :) I wish I remembered what year I started coming to Satriani.com. The site had the Time Machine background, and there wasn't many members back then. It also had this little merchandise store, a few t-shirts I think, but you couldn't really buy anything from it. LOL! It was just there? Anybody remember that?

Ovation, thanks for the tree-hunrit fireworks! woohoo!

I think we should add to our Davefest and make a Mikefest too!!

Mikefest 2002 ~ Mike (Ovation), Mike (Portnoy), Mike (Mangini), Mike (MANNING), Mike (Keneally), Mike (my X bf - RIP), Mike (my nephew), Mike (the thousands we all know around town), Mike (Luce~Drowning Pool)...next!!

Ya Yo, congrats on quitting. Know anybody you'd like to add to the Mikefest? lmao!

Michael Constantine - he lives around here somewhere? Michael Hutchence, Michael Jackson (Miss Jackson if your nasty~ sorry, couldn't resist), Michael Bolten (is that his name?), Mike D. (is that one of the Beastie Boys?)

Thanks Narface :)

Does anybody know where I can find a big picture of Steve Vai's cover of The Elusive Light & Sound Vol. 1?? I want to use it as wallpaper. It's one of the coolest pics I've ever seen. Email me at Shelly@retardsrule.com ~~

Guitarrpsycho, yes I have a scanner, but it's not hooked up right now. I have the cd, but the scanning idea won't work for me right now. All the pics I found of it on the web are pretty small. My monitor is only 15 inches, so I don't need it BIG big, but bigger that the little pics I'm finding. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough? lol! I shouldn't do these things when I'm tired.

Ovation, I'll have to check out Mike Stern. Been busy with the whole Christmas tree thang today. Climbing a snow-filled mountain to find just the right tree today was so much fun. I look forward to it every year. I love getting out the Christmas ornaments that my kids made in school with gold spray-painted noodles made into a frame around their picture. lol! I also had to shed some tears when I got out the gold ornaments with my cats names on them. All 3 cats have passed now, Lumpy being the last on Aug. 31 at the age of 17, and the other two back in the early 90's. My boys. We still have our 8 yr. old cat who gives us joy by eating the Christmas tree, then spewing it up all over the house. Ahhh, the joys of Christmas! lol!

Congrats Nick Lee!

Has anyone seen Robin Williams ~ Live On Broadway? We rented the dvd and watched it today. OMG, I laughed so hard I cryed!! He's one of the funniest guys on earth! Long live Robin Williams! If your in a down mood, watch it. It will have you in stitches in no time. If your in a good mood, this will make it better. Funny, FUNNY stuff.

Welcome back GUTTERbOY!

Ovation, my kitties are up there with Grandma and they're all having a great time, I'm sure :) I've asked my husbands Grandma to take care of them after each one passed. That's the one thing that makes me smile. She loved cats :) As for our other cat...well, it's time to get out the spray bottle and zap him with a shot of water every time we catch him chewing on the tree. He's a stinker! When my kids were very little, we actually put the tree in the playpen so they wouldn't get at it and pull it down on themselves or something. It worked great. I got that tip from a parenting magazine. It would have been a bit mean to shoot them with water every time they went near it. lmao!! I'm kidding, I'm kidding, settle down people! Anyhoo , glad you got your tree. It sounds beautiful.

T.O.E. ~ let the games continue! I don't vote on every one, but I still think about it. I like to see what you come up with. Keep it going. How about Joe with hair or without? I thought he looked cool with hair, but he looks cooler without it.

Avarice, that was beautiful. It almost brought a tear to my eye. A statement like that should be carved in the front of a building...possibly in Washington D.C....for all to see. LOL!

I haven't listened to SBM in a week or two, and for some reason I can't get Belly Dancer out of my head. Time to crank it!

Stanley Clarke ~ 3 thumbs up!

Only 15 more days till CHRISTMAS!!

McDave, did you sign a lease? Does it say anything about no kids? What a heartless ass (I have a few more words, but I'l censor myself). It doesn't matter if you live in a VW bug, you still have room for your kids. He must have forgotten what it's like to be compassionate. Can a landlord actually tell you WHO is allowed in your apartment? Is that legal ~ especially when they're your children. I guess if it's in the lease, then he got you by the sack, but if not, you might be able to fight it. Sorry man, that situation sucks. He IS lucky you didn't take a swing!

Drafter37, yes, I have a few Satch tribute thingys. lol! One of my favorites is a framed "collage" type thing with 7 pictures, my aftershow pass, & picks from Joe & Dave LaRue in it from G3 2001. I also have the words I Believe above an angel tattoo on my arm, and a picture of Jeff and I that I treasure. I have a few other pictures in frames around the house and a few signed cd inserts. I keep the inserts in the cases so they don't fade. Great memories.

Speaking of Joe, I was driving around yesterday trying to get some Christmas shopping done, and I was playing a tape I made ~ the EOC tour setlist. Traffic was going so slow and it was jammed up everywhere. I was having my own private concert, smiling and jammin' away, and everyone else was all uptight because of the traffic. I HIGHLY recommend listening to Satch while trying to get from point A to point B during the busy holiday season. SATCH THERAPY! It makes things so much easier to deal with. lol!

McDave, I will never understand ppl. like your landlord. That crusty ol' clueless fart must have a black heart. By putting your kids first, it shows that you are truely a good dad. Go forth and conquer bro!!

Stu Clone, it sounds like your both having a great time during your lessons. lol! Tell Stu he should bring his purple self back here to T2J and say hi to all of us :)

PeanutLover, that's a fantastic video, isn't it? It gives us a glimpse of what it takes to get a song on a record. LFG is also one of my favorite songs, and Joe's self-titled cd is my favorite Satch cd. Good stuff!!

McDave, Optional Fuzz would be a good name for a band! lol!

Dave G., call the stores and see what the time frame would be. Like I said, it's sooo worth having...even if it's a bit late. I got Mike Portnoy's dvd on a backorder after Christmas as a gift from my husband. It's such a bitchin' dvd, I didn't even care that it was late. Just knowing that it was coming was good enough! Hopefully your friend will feel the same way. Maybe you could give a card or a small present with a note that says it's on it's way. Keep us posted on how your doing.

Hi Joe. I wanted to share this story with you and everyone here on T2J. We received a Christmas present early this year. It might not sound like much of a present, but believe me, it was. On Friday morning my husband Dave was at work. He's an electrician. Himself and three co-workers were instructed to do a job outside on a generator. They took on the chores of that day just like any other. It started out as a routine job. Dan is usually the first one to get started on any job, so he was the one to get down in the cabinet and start working. Dave and the other two guys were standing around checking other things and talking, and then it happened. Dan started to shake. At first the guys thought he was kidding, but unfortunately, he wasn't. Dan was shocked with 480 volts of electricity and fell to the ground. The guys reacted quickly and pulled him away from the cabinet, my husband grabbing his boot with one hand, and the other worker grabbing his belt with one hand. The third guy ran for help and within a minute the house staff was there to help. The electricity went in Dan's head and out his foot. It was a horror for the three guys to have to witness their friend get electrocuted. They ran tests all morning, and eventually that afternoon they got a normal rhythm back to his heart. He was asking what happened and talking in the ER, which was a good sign. They said all his tests came back showing there was no major damage to his heart or brain. He was released from the hospital yesterday morning, and his wife was there to take him home. You guys might be thinking WHY is this a Christmas present ~ it's a gift if you open your eyes and see it as one. Dan is alive to celebrate Christmas with his wife. Dan is alive to joke about the big guy with bad breath who would have been the one to give him mouth to mouth. It was also a wake-up to the company to use the safety precautions that have gotten lax over the years. Last, but not least, it made all of us appreciate each other more, and not take life for granted...ya know, that cold slap in the face that puts everyones priorities in order.

Anyways, I hope you all have a great holiday. God Bless and love each other.

McDave, your son is right, Santa does rule, but Mother Nature needs a good kick in her pearly whites! Big snowstorm here yesterday. Trees & power lines down. We had no electricity from 1:30 yesterday till a little more than an hour ago. Mac & Cheese for the kids for xmas dinner. Roads were to bad to travel to Grandma's for dinner. We finally have heat again. woohoo! We had a great Christmas eve & xmas morning, but from then on, it was all downhill. LOL! I did get some good video of how stupid everyone can get when their bored out of their skulls.....
