Stu Clone, I haven't seen Rent, and unfortunately after buying all these tickets I won't be able to afford to see it myself. The tickets I'm buying are a gift for my mum & stepdad. They've never been to a "Broadway" play before - even though it's not in NYC it's still going to be a great show. My friend seen Rent in NY with her daughter and still talks about it as being a fantastic show. Her daughter took off for college and took the soundtrack cd with her. I was forced to listen to it on a shopping trip with them once, and let me tell you, if you haven't seen the play...well lets just say it wasn't to cool having both of them singing in my ear the whole trip. LOL!!

If Tommy came this way, I'd HAVE to see it fer sure!

Climber, nobody will argue with you there. Ticketmaster sucks the doggies danglies!

Mike, if I'm not mistaken, I think the old wolf had his fav song listed as Big Baboon, which happens to be one of Joe's best songs. lmao!! A given for the "Essential" album. lol!

Anybody watching the Eagles game? Man, I was a fan for at least the first 5 minutes during the opening "For Those About To Rock" song and the fireworks and laser show. That was kickin'. It was all downhill on skis after that. LOL!! I'll stick with the Niners ;-) LOL! I try to support my husband when the Eagles play, but it's damn near impossible sometimes. lol!

Christie, go for Live In San Francisco because it has everything - as does Time Machine, but LISF is a more updated version with newer songs. My favs are "Joe Satriani" and "The Extremist". Can't go wrong with anything from Joe's discography really. He's the shit no matter how you look at it :)

Best opening song? Hmmm, it would have to be a tie between Cool #9 and Time. Cool #9 reels you in nice & slow before it blows you away, and time kicks my butt every time, so it's hard to choose.

R.I.P. Warren Zevon

On a sad note, today is the second anniversary of the passing of my nieces husband, Bryan. I'll take this moment as an opportunity to once again to say don't drink and drive.

I think it'a also 2 years since Joe broke his toe(s). Hope it healed up nicely and you have no problems with it Joe.

And now, more famous words from George Carlin:

"As you swim the river of life, do the breast stroke. It helps to clear the turds from your path."

:-)

Man, I just watched a show on VH1 about the making of Warren Zevon's last album. If you have the chance, watch it. God Bless him for letting the public get a glimpse of his last year, and living/dying with lung cancer. I was never a big Zevon fan, but I knew his more popular songs. The most disturbing parts were - he said some of his fans thought he was a hero for refusing treatment. He said that it's just wrong to think that way. He refused treatment so he wouldn't be to sick from the chemo to make one last album. The second thing was towards the end of the show they showed him smoking a cigarette. He's dying of lung cancer. His thoughts were "at this point, what does it matter." I guess at that stage of the game you can damn well do what you please. The outcome will be the same anyway...

Paul, thanks for the back-up. It's appreciated.

Mike, straight to the heart. Thanks.

p.s. - I'm sure GUTTERbOY has all the words to that song if you'd like the sing more than one line. LOL!!

Ahh yes, I Believe (in Ice Cream). lmao!!

I've been out walking, for hours, I've got something on my thighs. How did it get there, and where's it going? Why are my pants sooo tight?

I don't remember the words anymore, but it was something like that. I don't remember the last line. I agree, it was one of my finer moments and I like it WAY better than Big Baboon. LOL!

Anybody have the lyrics to that one??

ha! Thanks Austin. I forgot more lyrics than I remembered!

I just took a visit back to that page, not realizing "thee" page it was on. I would have never found it myself. Wow man, so much emotion. That year went from one of the very best days in my life (the G3 aftershow at the Beacon) to two of the worst days (Sept. 9th & 11th). Funny I should revisit it exactly 2 years to the day. I haven't read all that stuff since then. In a way I'm glad I read it tonight. All the love shown by fellow Satchers, and Satch himself, when I was as down as down gets really fills my heart. We're all still healing from that week in one way or another. I'm glad most of us are still here on the forum as a Satch Family. This is the best site on the 'net. God Bless you all.

*group hug* lol!

"I don't like it when I'm in an audience and the emcee tells us to give someone a welcome specific to that city: "Let's all get together and give this little lady a nice Toledo welcome." I've often thought if I were from Toledo it would be fun now and then to give someone a Baltimore welcome, just to break the emcee's balls. Or maybe slip into an exotic Budapest welcome when no one is expecting it. One thing I would never do is give someone a Dallas welcome. That's what JFK got. Dallas welcomes don't last to long."

To steal a line from Seinfeld - This is the summer of George! lol!

DCK, glad to hear your nephew is getting better.

Bil, "eat, drink, and be Mary." That one always cracks me up!

Yayo, Nick Menza...now there's a fine specimen. Hello! Oh, and he drums well too! lol!

Templar, I'm hangin' in there. Thanks for asking :) How you doin'?

I just read this one from good ol' George and I can't stop laughing - " I think there ought to be a feminine hygiene spray called "Sprunt."

And with that, I shall skip away ~~~

PhryDom, Happy 1000!

Sixstringmaster, my friends call him Joe Sandioni or Chris Saterbee - I kid you not. LOL!! I call him Joe SAT-TREE-AHHH-KNEE :)

HEY JOE, we'll see you at the Keswick!

TheBob, guess it's better than Scratch-my-pony? lol! How bout SAT-TREE-ANNIE? I think Steve says it like that? lol! ha! I like Saterini better than that one, although it does remind me of a New Yorker saying they'd like a cup of cough-ee (coffee). LOL! Can we tawk hea?

Templar, enjoy your trip and good luck with your guitar.

Dragonchild, so sorry to hear about your Foreign Minister. What a senseless tragedy. I hope they find the guy who did it.

I already said my prayers this morning. I hope the families of the 9/11 victims can find strength in whatever God they believe in to get through these hard times.

a moment of silence...

Now go hug somebody :)

Sharon, congrats & good luck with the new puppy.

TomSr, this will be our first time at the Keswick. My husband and I will be 5th row center. Cool to have T2J peeps so close together :) I missed the birthday post. Post it again. That way Jon can catch it if he missed it too.

Bil, I'm not allowed to do anything?? Hmmm, that doesn't sound like such a bad idea. lol!

Hi Anibur!!

Aarren, I cried my eyes out too. Most I cried all day was watching that clip. I had to turn the sound off, then I just had to stop the whole thing. To sad man, just to friggin' sad. It's been a hard day. I can't even begin to imagine those who were "closer" to the tragedy. It sucks hard.

Plum Loco, do you feel like I do? lmao!! Little Frampton humor there...

My afternoon was spent cleaning glass out of my car. My drivers side window was smashed sometime between 10:00 last night & lunchtime today. Looks like some little f*er with a BB gun went shooting at it. Stereo & everything in the car was untouched. I hope they piss in bed for the rest of their lives. It should be about $200. out of pocket. That sucks!

On the other hand, I heard from an old friend. His son returned home from Iraq recently. If that's not a reason to be happy, I don't know what is. WELCOME HOME PAUL!!!

R.I.P. Johnny Cash & John Ritter.

Dave & Brandon, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I'd sing for you but I haven't even had my coffee yet.

Stu Clone, my husband went to the Rite of Strings show when it came around a few years ago. He came home glowing. Said it was one of the best shows he's ever seen. I gotta find that cd around here and give it a run. Three of his favorite guys on one stage. Can't beat it with a stick.

I WANT TO LISTEN TO THE T2J CD TOO!!! Maybe we'll have the friggin' thing by Christmas...2005.

edit: I should really be AWAKE before I post. lol!

*Hear me And if close my mind in fear, Please pry it open, See me, And if my face becomes sincere, Beware, Hold me, And when I start to come undone, Stitch me together, Save me, And when you see me strut remind me of what left this OUTLAW TORN*

Not the best album, but a damn good song.

Yayo, do you remember the merchandise section in the old site? You could look, but you couldn'y buy. LOL!! I should be fair and say that maybe it was possible to buy stuff before I discovered satriani.com? Did anyone here ever successfully buy anything from there? You went under a few different names, didn't you? It's hard to keep track of who was here at the beginning because of the nick changes. I've only ever had one name, but I've been confused with a few Shell's...and somebody's mutha. LOL!

PhryDom, sorry about your job. F the F'in F'ers and get a better one. Stay positive bro.

SupaaDave, have a couple of beers and laugh at your ex's people. You're there for your kids, and that means a lot. Having YOU in a few photos on their birthdays will mean so much when they (and you) look back on these days. Happy b-day to your kiddies!

I heard Johnny Cash singing Ring Of Fire on a commercial, and now I can't get it out of my head. lol!

Everybody:

I fell in to a burning ring of fire...

lol!

Just searched on TM to see how ticket sales are going for the Keswick. They're back to row X, which is the third to last row. G3 should have no problem selling out by showtime. Glad I got mine early :)

I'm not complaining, but does anyone else think tickets for this show are expensive? I don't think I ever paid this much to see Joe before - G3 or solo. See folks, this is why a Satch Fund comes in handy. lol!

Ovation, Isabel is supposed to hit my town Friday morning. God Bless those who are closer to the shoreline. These things are wicked. Today is supposed to be great. Sunny & 80 with low humidity (finally). Funny how Mother Nature works, isn't it?

SupaaDave, at least you didn't have to give up G3 for Peter Frampton. lol! Sorry, I just had to go there. lol!
