I have a question...

When does partly cloudy turn into party sunny, and vice-versa?

guitarnut, if we stopped talking about everything EXCEPT Joe Satriani or the guitar, this site would be extremely lame. Don't get me wrong, I love Joe a llllllllllot, but if that was all we ever talked about in here it would get very boring. We talk about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING on this site, and that's the way JOE LIKES IT! We are like a family here, and if a family only ever talked about how great the meatloaf was, pretty soon everyone would get sick of the meatloaf. lol!

I think I just compared Joe to meatloaf?!? lmao!!

As for all the halftime "antics" tainting the Pat's victory - how? It was a fantastic game. Both teams played their butts off, and with 4 seconds on the clock, the Pat's won. Whatever happened during halftime had NOTHING to do with the players and their hard work and dedication to football! Jackson & Timberlake will take the publicity for the boob stunt (ha! was that a stunt boob?), as well as Kid Rock for wearing the flag, Nelly for his bad gold toof, & Ditty for his big head. They had absolutely nothing to do with the game, therefore, there is no way they could 'taint' the victory of the winning team. Pushing blame THAT far is a bit much. Again, the ONLY thing to taint the Pat's victory are the people of BOSTON and the way they behaved afterwards! Why is Jackson's friggin tit getting MORE news coverage and punishment than the violence and destruction of the city after the game? THAT, my friend, pisses me off!!!

Julie, I always seem to get stuck behind somebody (swear to God) who feels the need to put their brakes on going UP HILL!!! Not only going up hill, but going up hill under 30 mph, which the speed limit on that road is a whopping 35 mph. There's no curves, just 2 small hills like camel humps, double yellow line, 2-way traffic. Nothing fancy, just a simple straight road between cities. It's like they think they're being monitored by the State Police with a monitor directly attached to their speedometer. As for the turn signals, it amuses me to see someone with a signal on for a while. What gets me is when they DON'T use them at all! I used to get upset when I'd get behind someone going to slow, but now I figure maybe they're slowing me down for a reason, so I take a deep breath and try to take a different look at the situation.

Thanks TomSr! How's the weather over there? We had mostly rain yesterday, so this morning the pavements are pretty icy. Haven't been out driving yet, but the streets look o.k.

Stacy, c'mon girl! Clarky's (s)not for G3. He snot being voted for G3 this week because he has a cold. It snot fair, I know, but that's the way things run around here :~)

Hi eta, nice to meet you. Yes, I've been here for a while. What I really want to know is - if I'm the mother figure here, who's the father figure? lol! And why do we have so many kids???

TomSr, I hate polkas too! LOL!!!

Stacy, I have the cure for being grumpy - sing the 'I'm a little tea pot' nursery rhyme, but change the words to fit your boss, or the next customer, or your cat. If you want to look busy, rewrite the words to one of your favorite tunes. Make up your own version of the song. As for turning 40 in August - guess who else is turning 40 in August missy!!! I AM! lol! August 15th I'll no longer be 'thirtysomething'. It's kinda cool actually. 40...holy shit! lmao!!

thanks Graham!

Clarky, the more I hear about your wife, the more I like her. lol!

Frenchy, nice joke! lol!

jazzer, sorry to hear about your ankles & knees. Your young right? Man, stuff like that shouldn't happen until we're old and worn. At least you'll be good to go after your surgeries. I hope your cartilage regenerates and you feel like a million bucks (the money kind, not the animal kind :)

ev, how old are you now? How's life in Beantown compared to 'home'.

guitarnut, I agree. Those things are way to over-commercialized!

eta, I'm in eastern Pennsylvania, USA

So guys, no ideas to share with Trutina on his wedding proposal? Guess he'll just have to club her over the head, and when she wakes up she'll have a beautiful ring on her finger...

Bil, have you come up with any plans yet? Are you aiming for Valentine's Day? So many romantic things you could do. ..or just club her over the head...

Paul, ROTFLMAO!!! I think his wife and kids should sue HIM because he's such a load! How can anyone eat TWO foot long subs, then wonder why they get sick. It wasn't Janet's boob, it was his stomach screaming for mercy! He's the boob! lmao!!! I think it's funny how his kids were laughing at him. They were probably poking him with sticks too. If his wife morphed into Michael Jackson, she wouldn't want to have sex with him anyway. He's to old. "I demand compensation because CBS, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake went absolutely out of their way to make me look like a fool" My question is - how do you make a fool look like a fool? And as for "At this point manhood totally stopped working" - I doubt it ever started. LOL!!! I bet this guy ate paste when he was a kid. In all seriousness, people like this are a dime a dozen. I bet there are thousands of suits just like this one, from every money hungry cock-a-roach out there. I bet ppl. are sueing that didn't even watch the half-time show! It's a damn shame ppl. can even waist the courts time with stuff like this.

Mikey, who's gonna watch the kids? lmao!! Oh wait, we'd be the kids! lol! We'd all have some serious fun, wouldn't we. lol! We'd probably get kicked out of every place for laughing to loud.

Ev, guess your not an old man yet. lol! Glad you like it in Boston. Home is where you make it :)

String G, thanks :)

edit: Clarky, this post is # 53123. um-hmm, yeah, you know it. I got two threes AND a one!

EEK! An anthrax scare at the Winsor Hotel in Philly. White powder found in a room on the 9th floor. We'll know in about an hour if it REALLY is anthrax or not.

eta, as for the member total and the way it rises - there are a lot of new members. There are also old members who forget their passwords and names, so they make up new ones to come back & visit. Then there are the multiple personality people who have a few accounts and post under different names. The total number of members has to be off by a few hundred IMO.

UGH! My nice family room downstairs (the basement) had almost 2 inches of water in it! Thank God the floor is uneven! It stayed away from the edges of three sides of the room, which is where most of the furniture & stuff is. I had to grab my husbands guitars, but I couldn't budge his Mesa-Boogie amp. The bottom of it got wet, but I think it'll be o.k. The little feet on it had it up off the ground a bit. My first floor looks like we just moved it with all the clutter. Nothing got ruined (as far as we know...yet) but the carpeting might have to be replaced. The damn drain at the curb froze up and got blocked, which in turn backed up the rain spouts, which in turn backed the water into the side of the house. Aww man, my husband just told me that he can see water still coming in at the bottom of the basement steps. SHIT!! Of course, we pay thousands of dollars for homeowners insurance, but they NEVER cover anything we need! We don't have flood ins. (there's no streams or lakes or anything nearby), and our ins. will not cover "ground water". Fuckerzzz!!! My husband moved the rain spouts away from the house, put the remaining furniture up on wood blocks (but only on one side of the room - can't lift the rest of it), and shop-vac'ed what water was left after myself, my son, & my nephew scooped out most of the water. My husband had to borrow the shop vac from work, so until he got it, I had to get the water out somehow? lol! I emptied over a dozen buckets of water from us scooping it! Now it's coming back in. I'm tired. I have a headache. It's still raining.

where's my whiskey!

mick87, yeah, I know how much water a water heater can throw out. It happened to us at our last house. It got a LOT of stuff wet, but only one or two things were lost to the damage. At least it was a cement floor and the water could be swept across the room into the drain. That happened around 11:00 p.m. one night. I just wanted to cry. My husband laughed his ass off. Something about seeing the water blub up over the top of the water heater and cascade to the floor hit his funny bone. He's lucky I didn't hit his funny bone with a flat edge shovel! lol! ~~The water is still seeping in at one spot. It's supposed to rain until tomorrow, then the temps will go up to a tropical 43 degrees! Whoa kids, get out yer speedos! Seems the guy across the street is having the exact same problem. He's got a blow torch out there trying to melt the ice around the drain at the curb where everything is backed up/frozen solid. There's so much ice on our side we can't even find our drain! lol!

Sammy, does Goody Powders really work> I've seen it at the store, but never bought any. I think we'll have to replace the carpeting too. We have a dehumidifier going on high speed down there. Maybe that will help save the carpet? We shall see.

I should start a relief fund - Help Save The Carpet! hmmm, maybe that should change to Help Waterproof Michelle's Basement Wall! hmmm, Maybe that should change to Help Buy The Frazzled Lady Some Good Whiskey So She Doesn't Have To Worry About Her Carpet Or Her Wall!

yeah, that's a good one :)

Sammy, the ice built up because the plows didn't come close enough to the curbs. They left about a foot between where they plowed and the curb. That snow got packed down, then we had freezing rain, and more freezing rain, and then some plain old regular generic rain. Now the ice is as high as the curb. It finally stopped raining here too. I live in eastern PA. Where do you live?

farting gnome, they have steve lukather and larry carlton- no substitutions in DVD form?! I didn't know that. I have the cd, and I would love to see the live show. Cool!

Mikey, I'll send you a picture. lol! We have the fireplace going and the dehumidifier running, but the middle of the floor still makes my hand wet when I touch it. It could have been a LOT worse, so we're upset, but not ready to hunt down the previous owners and kill them. Yet anyways. lol! Ahhh, the joys of a new house :-}

Dragonchild, that would have been a great idea. I could have charged the neighborhood kids a small fee for using the ice and put it towards my relief fund. LOL!!

Wow, the Power Rangers Movie is on. I haven't seen this in years. Woo-hoo! lmao!!! What a cheesy movie. lol!

jazzer, if it was the big sewer drain, the city would be here no problem, but they won't come to individual properties for just a small drain. My husband and I chopped the hell out of the ice in the gutter today in the street. We had to chop away what we could, and just make a groove in the ice that was to thick to give the water a direction to flow. I couldn't grip the chopper with my gloves on, so I took them off. Baaaad mistake. lol!

edit: 2 of my neighbors also had flooding in their basements. Same problem as us.

StringG, I don't think Seabiscuit was ever on my "must see" list. lol! Pure cheese, huh? lol!

SupaaDave, Comcast? Isn't cable great!

Narface, an indoor pool for ppl. who like freezing cold water. lol! Even my cats were like WTF? lol!

Eva, now I have to worry about ice goblins!! LMAO!!

Austin, thanks. I feel much better now. LOL!

Climber, are we building a mote? lmao!!

Julie, lmao!!! Funny how that works, isn't it! I think it also depends on what you're drinking too. Hope your feeling better soon.

I'm listening to Dream Theater 6DOIT. I haven't heard it in a while. Great stuff!
