Young Richard Haier. Time was recorded in 1988, and that version has a really cool guitar intro [the clean part played in the heavy prhygian part repeated 4 times] with some sort of steven hawking babble in the background. I dont know why this intro was not kept for the CP release. Joe can you extend your long arm of knowledge and type the answer for us unenlightened?

And Joe, while you're there check out my audition demos for your rhythm guitarist spot, please. Remember your hat is on the line here.

that is all.

mick87 - go and grab falling into infinity by dream theater. easiest cd of theres to get into, some really nice songs. then try awake.

young richard haier, lol, i will look around for it, i used to have it but as matt says it is pretty much the same as the CP release. i just really like the intro.

matt king . thanks for the mention in your interview. time was recorded back in the 80s but wasnt released till CP, why i dont know! i think the only difference was that joe got stu hamm to do the bass track, i think i heard that in an interview somewhere. would have been interesting to hear a 1998 CP re-record of time though. i also would like to get my hands on the 1995 Japanese bonus track of 'Up in the Sky'.

JOE. why did you cut the intro of time? why did you wait ten years to release it? are you growing your hair under those sailor hats? can i be in your band WHEN you play down here in australia?

sunmote .. you need to think about the bigger picture. has australia even had a G3 tour? how many other places has Satch and the G3 tour never reached? How many loyal Satch/Vai fans have gone without ever seeing them play? Think about these fans who live in those places before you express your utter disgust.

master yoda - thanks for the kind words. come dream with me is a song where i have tried to unveil my new soloing technique, an amalgamation of satch, eric johnson and john petruccis styles.

its slowly starting to sound good and fluid, for example at parts like 4:00 4:09 and 4:20 in the fade out solo.

thanks again! maybe you can send me one of your tunes some day?

matt - tuning of the guitars wasnt 100% . thats what is throwing the harmony.

js clone - nobody? i will take that as a compliment =)

chris and mike thanks again. your words are too kind! i will have a newer mix of game over up soon. without the extra bass! and i am trying to play around with the 7/8 solo section to make it more dirty and have more impact.

thanks again!

matt > the chorus theme is in octaves and then follows thirds loosely. i say loosely because the second guitar doesnt entirely follow the first guitars theme in thirds, as it sounded too stale so it ends on a perfect 4th. there are no 5ths.

thankyou all. i get a real kick when other people dig my tunes. i mean i write them for myself, and it makes me really happy when other people like them as well!

and also, to anyone that cares, i actually wrote the song on the way to the city on a train. the chords made sense in my head so i jotted them down on the back of my notes i was trying to study.

mike - i would love to tear it up on a universe, especially the first series in the black w/ green pickups.

invigor - i would love to play G3! but there are two problems, one, like JS Clone said, i am but a nobody. and two that would mean G3 would have to come to australia, which i dont see happening anytime soon.

thanks again

mick87. i love funk, i often jam along with the Frank Gambale / Shawn Lane duel "Centrifugal Funk" .

It sure is a shame that we have lost Shawn. I am sure he is jamming with Hendrix as we speak!

michelle, you just keep getting sweeter and sweeter! i think you should deserve the backstage passes!

stu. clarky is right, some of the voicings are definitely more instense than that last solo. the solo is just repeated patterns up and down the neck, i learnt it once so i could teach a student who is an avid petrucci fan.

clarky ... yes. i think thats what erotomania must mean. the alt picking is a cool thing to have under your belt, but i find his chord work more usable in band situations.

aliensynergy > http://peterm.iuma.com

and sorry mate, i havent played around woollongong.

thanks mick. one day i will get some more studio time and get some acoustic drums down.

JOE --> after looking at the flying in a blue dream cover i need to ask, are you related to David Copperfield. If so, will you ever do a tour with him?

Alexandre > i did see that comment. thank you very much, it means a lot coming from such a great player.

UF Dean > Well at least two thirds of your playlist would have been GOOD music.

Prog X > As i listened to your tunes i had flashbacks of the music of my sega mega drive games! really entertaining music man, it seems you have improved with your songwriting as well as technique. Thsanks for the link.

As far as IUMA is concerned, i think they have a huge database of artists and alot of problems, hopefully they wont go belly up.

Thanks for all your wishes to get the card to me. Maybe it will come today? I will check the mail soon...

Man, if joe signed that card i am going to break down and cry.

i think mike said tony macalpine signed the cards as well, if so i am going to break down and cry twice.

please dont let me know if anyone else signed that card ok! i dont think i can break down many more times

and michelle, dont bother buying the evanescence CD. the best two tracks are the first two singles. IMO anyway.
