Ovation 1!! Hey man... thanks for liking clouds... there was the odd problem with it... but hey, I ain't Joe... The way I see it is that it's a masterpiece, that I've yet to master... hehe

Yeah it's a cool truck... heavy on the payments, but it's worth it in the end...

Rush is an amazing band and I live very close to their neck of the woods... he he... An old childhood buddy of mine, met them through his father! his father's friend was an old drinking buddy of Geddy's and Alex's... they used to get together and jam and stuff... he he...

Matthew Martinez!!! Thanks man... that means alot... I wish I could write songs as beautiful as that... I find it hard to find the patience...

It's one thing to learn & play a tune of someone else's but to write something as equal in beauty... that's the real trick now isn't it??

Ovation1: Yeah Geddy, Alex, & Neal's Studio I'm pretty sure was in a small place called Aurora, Ontario... I used to play quite a bit of hockey there and it seems to me there's alot of wooded areas there... and yes, I'm imagining it was the Tom Sawyer vid that you were refering to with the snow in the background... Aurora is about 20km from Toronto... They were all from Toronto more or less... but that's what most Canadian bands say... cause it seems that Toronto is the most known Canadian City... But the Province of Ontario is a huge chunk of land... it's about the size of 1.5 Texas states slapped together... Quebec is the biggest Province though... Probably the size of 2 Texas states... Oh and as I said before... thanks for liking Clouds... but I'm not Joe, but I take comfort that I can at least sort of sound like him from time to time... The 1st time I heard Joe play was in the song Echo... I had just got dumped by my ex-girlfriend and her older brother was playing this stuff on the tape player while he drove me home... It brought tears to my eyes, but believe me it was the music, not the actual dumping process, that came later...

Alexandre... Thanks... Glad you liked it... I just wish one day that I have the ability to write something so beautiful... Another guy that writes great instrumental pieces, mostly Jazz and Classical is a guitar player by the name of "Rik Emmett"... I've seen this man twice in concert and it's really amazing to see him play guitar, but on top of that, he's got to be one of the most amazing singers with the guitar too... Rik was the ex-lead guitar/ lead singer of the band called "Triumph" a band that was actually bigger once than AC-DC... I know this because AC DC opened up for Triumph even though both bands had started up around the same time and hit it off big around the same time too... if you want... download a couple of tunes from them... they are called "Magic Power", "Lay It On The Line", & "Hold On" all featuring Rik on Vocals & Guitar... this stuff is old but respectable!

Thanks again guys for listening to Clouds... your opinions mean alot to me... I just wish I could find people in my general area to jam with & create some stuff such as this type of music... I'm working on one guy who's a Jazz drummer... but he's 10 years younger than me and bizzy with college and air cadets and stuff...

My dream is to create music that mixes styles such as Joe's, Santana's, David Gilmour's, Rik Emmett's, and Mark Knopler's or Lindsey Buckingham's... combining fingerstyle as well...the last 3 just do that for the most part...

What-ever the case maybe about Joe, taking a Hiatus from the T2J community... it's probably because he's taking a break from the music scene and his fans for awhile because he deserves and also that he's probably recharging the batteries for a big thing that's going on late this year and next... Relax gang... Joe will have something to say one day in the near future...

I'm tired... Bed Time...

Trutina... When are we going to see a "mug shot" of you dude?? One where you are at least holding that Les Paul?? he he...

Easier said then done... Not everyone has a digital camera to do just that... but, if you know anyone with a scanner, they can actually do a respectable job in some cases... I was kind of hoping to see a Mug Shot of everyone on the T2J CD so I could relate to who the person is and how they play the guitar. and just trying to place a face with a name... you know how it is...

Peace... Barrie!

r6rocker... Canada Rocks eh? And that's why we spell C-a-n-a-d-a the way it is spelt... C eh? N eh? D eh?

You forgot about another important word in Canada and that is Hoser...

Here's an example... Take off eh? You Hoser Eh?

You know eh? we Canadians drink straight from the Keg eh? oh and to let you know, our strongest beer doesn't get any lower than 7.5% alcohol per bottle, you know eh? Oh and It's "About" not "A Boot" but we may from time to time say it as "A Boot" eh?

Looks redickerous on paper on how Canadians talk but to hear us Bable away for hours, is enough to get any American or Englishman a busted gutt....

Peace eh?? hehe

Zakk Wylde would be cool for G3...

Nuno Bettencourt would be cool as well for G3...

Jeff Beck is a little dated but he'd be a classic choice to G3...

How about David Gilmour, a real tasty player in my opinion and I think his melodic soft style is a great contrast to Joe and Steve...

Mark Knopfler too...

Paul Gilbert great player...

Edward, in my dreams for these guys to dual it out with the likes of Mr. Van Halen... WOW... is all I can say about that...

Yngwie on the other hand, to see him melt in his shoes to come up with Ideas to outshine Joe & Steve... well... that's the Icing on the cake... In his eyes his music is based on Classical music in the true sense of the word... Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, etc... There's no way Yngwie is even remotely in league with these composers... I'll say it once... Yngwie is fast but does he have the writing skills to even write a beautiful song, to make you want to wheep like a new born baby... NO WAY! To me his style is not true musicianship... To me he's just running up & down the fretboard like a 1st grade guitar student...

It's all a fine line... EGOS & ICONS... Which Is Joe? Which is Steve? Which is Yngwie?

DCK!! I meant no disrespect to Mr. Jeff Beck...

I'll admit I've never heard his new material, But I do love his old stuff... Blow by Blow is awsome... definetly one of my favs... and I did say he would still be a good choice although I used the word Classic... it still meant a good choice... I've heard Joe in interviews speak of Mr. Beck, and it's very likely Joe would pick Jeff over alot of the previously mentioned players... that I welcome... the guitar players I mentioned before other than Yngwie would all be great choices in my opinion... my Favs would be Jeff, David Gilmour, and/or Mark Knopfler!!

Peace....Barrie!

Clarky...

How about leaving a PAF Pro in the neck position and replace the bridge PAF Pro for your EVO. I love the PAF Pro's sound in the neck position... major fat tone and that might dull the brightness of the EVO when the need arises!!!

Kind of like the PAF Pro & FRED... "They go together like peas & carrots".... They make a great match because you've got a great fat tone in the neck and the brightness of the FRED can't be much different in comparison to EVO or a Blaze... just a different change in tone really...

I think in my next guitar project I'll get another PAF Pro but then I think I'll Try a Super Distortion strictly for the Halibut...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE!! You old fart you...

I pretty much don't have a choice to wear my guitar high on my chest... I wear a size 52 dress shirt, my chest is 52" most guitar straps don't truely accomodate a larger person... my back alone from shoulder to shoulder is 45"... Damn all that Luggin & Liftin... hehe...

Ever since I got into the woodworking it's added a whole pile of muscle onto my upper back because of all the straining, leaning & lunging over the table saws... and when you use hardwoods all day long ripping 8 to 10foot boards on your own... your body will adapt to meet the needs of the movement that you are constantly performing...

Clarky LOL!!

I got a strap off my dad, he's a real big guy too about 270 pounds and when he played guitar alot he managed to find this one strap that was really long, but that was way back in 1966, he got it with his Harmony guitar... he needed it because the guitar was a hollow body electric, about the size of an acoustic and was probably 4" deep so to accomodate he needed an extra long strap and this one was just long enough when adjusted all the way out... it's the one I still use to this day...

My guitar with the old vintage strap

I try to take real good care of it... it's got a leather backing which helps, the fabric is pretty funky... I like it because you can't find anything like it, and I like old vintage stuff... My Pop used to have one of those curly cords too... wish I still had that... LOL!!

CURLY CORDS FOR G3!!!

greg m: yep...

Also... keep that wide strap... the wider the better... you don't want your guitar digging into your shoulder because of a narrower strap regardless of padding or not... it'll cause bruising or worse... it can cause your playing hand to fall asleep and ruin a perfectly good set... it sucks when you are just jamming away and suddenly your left hand just up and kicks the bucket on you... this used to happen to me quite often, I had one narrow one with iguanas all over it embroidered... and all it did was give me aches and pain the whole time I was playing it...

Alexandre... Hey Man... Sorry I've been a little busy around the house and stuff... I'm back at work full throttle again too...

about PRS... yes they're a cool company... I always liked the looks of their guitars other than the quite dull hardware equiped with them...

I decided to buy a kit guitar that resembled the same idea but with way more features...

Imagine a guitar that has all the hot looks of a PRS and all the hot features of an Ibanez JEM or a JS1000 or even a Peavy Wolfgang with AAA Birdseye Maple Neck and there you have it... I have the PAF Pro & FRED wired the same way Joe's guitars are wired, with all the coil taps in place as well!!

1) High Pass Filter

2)The Single Coil to Humbucker switch as well...

I think it's one of the coolest guitars around... My Axe

:)

Peace!!

Barrie!
