I totally agree with you Michelle about the phone call to Trutina (Bil McKim)... Does anyone know his phone number? anyone? and regarding the long distance charge. In Canada I know it doesn't cost any more if you were calling from the next city or to Florida, the cost would be the same... even better if you have a long distance plan in place on your phone bill, it doesn't cost anything if you pay for a service such as that...

Well in Canada anyway... home of SARS, MAD COWS, WEST NILE, Lousey National Security...

man it's been a bad year for Canadians.... Bring on 2004

Alexandre buddy!!

yeah I know man...

it's been a tough year...

probably for everyone...

Half of BC mountains nearly burnt up, as well as Portugal, as well as California...

and to beleive there's even worse things going on right now, especially in Iran...

Let's look at 2004 as a good year and a fresh start and hope for the best..

Gawd Joe what a Life...

Record producing and snowboarding... Sounds like a tough job to do...

Think I'll stay at the backbreaking painful job I do everyday... of course snowboarding can be backbreaking, painful work too... Take care with that at least Joe... Don't be doing any extreme stuff like riding an avalanche... that's my only advice... Only do that if you have delusions of grandure thinking you're Franky Avalon like Back To The Beach... or something... It's the Big Kahuna...

As for the record producing... Go Nuts...

Peace... and happy new year!

Hey Kirk... yeah, I was messin around one day through the charts on soundclick and stumbled on your soundclick site a few days ago... I didn't have a chance to listen though, but I'll make the time...

Ovation... just my luck eh? hehe... IUMA has been down for maintainance a long time, and when I decide to go to another independant music site, they decide to do the exact same thing... hehe

I would state in all fairness to Alex Lifeson. I feel the excessive use of force used by the Naples Police on his son Justin, was probably not necessary... As a father it was probably very upsetting for him to see his son shocked by a taser gun. And all Alex was trying to do was come to his son's aid.

And the whole thing quite simply got blown out of proportion...

The whole thing Sux, FUCK I HATE COPS!

if you had a hotmail email address, I could add it to my MSN Messenger... and you could download the Blues Jam directly from me... here's mine if you have a problem with leaving it here for everyone to see...

Yeah Michelle...

Alex is a big guy... and Geddy is the same height as him.

But have you ever seen pictures of Neil Peart standing with them?? Now that dude is really, really tall... He's got to be 6' 5".. he'd be standing eye to eye with Hulk Hogan, that's how tall...

hehe of course when Neil is sitting at his drum set, it's hard to believe but he towers over Geddy & Alex...

he he... They're a band of Canadian misfits that absolutely rock!!! LOL

yeah, BTW Joe...

What's this new record going to be like?

Is it all out rock like SBM, The Extremist, & Crystal Planet were or is it a combination of Electronic and Live...

that would be cool, to mix what you did in EOC and mix it with stuff you did in SBM style stuff... kinda like an Incubus thing...

Hey Joe! I read the article in the news section at Peavey.com and things sound pretty good with that JSX... I was just kinda curious... the article also said something about the amp being very affordable to the public as well... any idea how much that would be in US dollars? just a ball park figure?

Silly me... the article said $1499.00... that would be probably 1700 here in Canada.

Hey Joe... The new JS1200 looks cool... the PAF Joe pickup, what is the difference from that and the PAF Pro? sound and tone wise?

Is that Red Chameleon paint on there??

Ethn...

check out Line 6 dude... their amps sound like everything... tons of different distortions to go along with it... The Spider I I in particular has stacks at very affordable prices... and they have every effect built in that you'd ever want...

here's a look see at what I'm talking about...

Man... all this talk about amps is killin me...

As much as I hate to break it to y'all...

Tone Is In The Fingers... I don't know how many times Joe has said it, but I learned that within the 1st 5 years of playing... and all I ever had was a RockTek Mini amp to spare... the only tone I ever needed was the adjustments on the guitar and very little adjustment on the amp. I was so broke as a teen that when I was learning how to play, the amp's reverb would actually make it squeal & feedback with avengence until I figured out a way to wrap it with a bath towel to stop the feedback... that little amp rocked for all I could afford... it was cheap, a pain in the ass to fix all the time, but I still have that amp for sentimental reasons... simply because it was a reminder on how things used to be... it also let me realize that I could be a far better player if I just worked on accuracy and not masking the tone with crazy effects like my buddies did...

The only way I see controlling tone, volume, and distortion are the controls on the guitar itself. leave the pedals and gadgets alone... I mean yeah ok, I have a Line 6 Spider 212 which is loaded with effects but half the time I have it on the Twang, Blues, & Crunch settings and the rest is controlled on the guitar, the reverb is usually set to 25%, Delay is barely noticable, and Distortion is all controlled on my guitar...

Everyone's different I realize, but as fun as effects are... don't let it control or mask the true tone out of your playing ability! Don't let it rule your lives either...

Just a bit of advice. take it to heart or take it with a grain of salt...

Trutina buddy...

glad your back...

I've had people listen to Joe's music and I flat out told them that he's an instrumental guitarist and they still ask me where the words are... So it might not be because they want to hear words, it might be that fact that they don't understand too much of any thing about music in general... Kinda like the Grammy's and the voters involved... you know how it is...

Happy Birthday Alex...

Wow Trutina...

Cool man... I personally don't believe in the marriage thing but anyone who's up for it is ok in my books... All the power to them...

This must be a big confidence boost dude... especially for your health issues weighing heavy on your mind at times... this will help put those aside for the time being, I'm sure!!!
