mu·sic Pronunciation Key (my-oo-zk)n.

The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. Vocal or instrumental sounds possessing a degree of melody, harmony, or rhythm.

[Middle English, from Old French musique, from Latin msica, from Greek mousik (tekhn), (art) of the Muses, feminine of mousikos, of the Muses, from Mousa, Muse. See men-1 in Indo-European Roots.]

I hole-heartedly agree Neil!

Ok gang... I just confirmed with JS Clone about the little voice at the end of Clouds Race Across The Sky... And yes... I had turn it up real loud to hear it, of course I'm really deaf too.... That's what you get when you work with loud woodworking machines all day long and then come home and make loud ear piercing noises on your guitar after work... murder to the ears...

Hey Gang... I just finished recording a little melody.... It's a bit of a tribute to Eddie... once you hear it, you'll know why (at least, I hope so) ... it's my favourite Van Halen tone that he produces...

give it a try...entitled "Ode To Edward"... http://barriepoole.iuma.com Oh and feel free to download any of my other tunes... please.

Hope I don't disappoint you diehard shredders out there...

Peace!

31 years ago today....Jim Morrison died in his bathtub of a cardiac arrest! (He literally burnt himself out for all of the abuse that he put himself through)

Unbleivable, how many talented people died back in the 70s...

Yep, I agree with Gruskada JS Clone 1...... It could simply be a part of the rhythm section for the techno driven beat... Some sounds that I get out of this Keyboard of mine can kind of sound like what you are discribing... Of course Joe can pay the big bucks for a real cool keyboard and Pro Tools program for Midi that can access all of the sounds that a synthesizer can produce...... and alot of them, these days have a voicing or whisper type setting on there somewhere... even this cheap Casio of mine... Hey.... Joe used a Casio....Isn't that right Joe? It was used in the original recording of The Crush Of Love...

Richard... I beleive Death Cube is refering to your extra long fingers... You do have pretty big hands for a small dude... Nothing wrong with that... the bigger the hands the better... Jimi Hendrix, and especially Stevie Ray Vaughn had monsterous hands... Now Joe isn't the biggest guy in the world.......although his hands aren't the biggest out there, they are pretty big for a guy his size...

Richard... I shook hands with ya man... your hands are just as big as mine... and I know mine are pretty big... not long but thick & wide... anyways... it doesn't matter...

Saw Journey the other night Live in concert... those guys are amazing, except there was this real old guy there, cheering to the guys on stage as if he was watching a World Series Baseball game or something... He kept repeating over and over again "Those guys are something else, they are absolutely amazing....AMAZING" through the whole night. It was at a Casino (I don't know, maybe he just struck it rich or something) Peace.... AMAZING!!!!

Satch3d, JS Clone 1, Neal "The Nut", this is what people love to come here and read up on... It's mainly a website about Joe, but it's much more than that as well... It's a place that people can join together to.... make friends, trade ideas, ask questions etc. (whatever else floats your boat)

Another neat thing, thanks to the Internet and www.satriani.com , MegaBoyd and myself are trying to collaborate on a tune together... I created this Midi drum track that's pretty cool and upbeat in tempo, sent it off to Boyd and then he's going to mess around with it, add a Bass line to it... send it back and then I'll do some guitar work... If it wasn't for all of you guys that make this great community possible here, things like this would never happen... 2 guys (thosands, and thosands of miles away from each other are able to record a tune together) An online band if you will...

That's one thing I'd like to work on with a few people that visit here all the time, Matt King, Richard ... we've jammed online before, but I think it would be so cool to record a tune together with a whole bunch of players! I'm moving in just over a month and I'll be setting up a music studio for myself, So I can't wait for that... things will be a little more organized then and bigger and better tunes will hopefully be recorded soon enough...

Thanks for your time gang!!

Peace....Plum Loco Rides Again http://barriepoole.iuma.com

You know.....it would really be nice if Joe visited his own website once and awhile and posted some messages... (joke)

I know, I know, He's busy and on tour at the moment, but that never stopped him before. I mean, since the new website went online, he's only posted once and that was almost a month ago. So either his laptop that he had is on the fritz and didn't take it out on the road with him or he's just waiting until the 1st part of the tour this summer is over and is waiting until he's home to catch up. Anyways Joe..... HAPPY B-DAY TOMMOROW.... You're only as old as you feel dude...

Ya Yo... the only thing I can think of for The Double JS is that one is tuned differently and possibly could be wired different for a slightly different tone...

Possible 3peat...

Glad you had a blast Joe!! You've got to get more photos of your new axes in the guitar gallery... those new guitars you're sporting are sharp looking!!!

And about wearing your guitar a little higher... I do that to, but I always find my hand falls asleep on me because of the fact that I have to lift my hand higher to get under the guitar a bit because of the adjustment... So I take the good with the bad. I play better if it's higher or closer to me, but run the risk of my hand falling asleep and screwing up royally or I wear it a little lower so that my hand stays awake, and I have to pay more attention of what I'm doing with my left hand.

I actually think it all depends on the song you're playing Joe... If your going to be doing a song that has more chording work, then you might want to hang it a little lower, if you're playing a song where your playing nothing but lead, then you might want to wear it higher than usual...

Zakk Wylde.... now there's a guitar player that hangs it low! Rik Emmett...... now there's guitar player that hangs it high!

Yep Joe! but that's the thing... You must have one of the coolest jobs around... you can take holidays and vacations anytime you want... And while you're on tour, you get to travel to new and exciting places all the time... Playing on stage with a bunch of bands, it's not like you're risking an injury before you get back to work or anything... well, ok maybe one thing... DEAFNESS...

On another note..... Anyone else having a problem with IUMA?? you can't upload any tracks right now...

And he wonders why he has so many stomach problems.... Jeez.... lets put it this way.... If it's Black, don't drink it everyday, can't be good for the kidneys after long steady exposure... Later... And Cheers!! hee hee

Hey Gang... for those of you who are interested, I just uploaded a whole bunch of tunes to my IUMA site... I've been busy... perhaps it's because I'm about to move and all, and it's hard to say how much time I'll have to spend recording after it's all said and done... anyways... Some new tracks enititled "Cry Of Desperation", "Slick New Hair Do", "Ode To Edward", and finally a cover of Joe's tune "Until We Say Goodbye".

You can download them at http://barriepoole.iuma.com

Thanks for your time!

Peace....Barrie

Hey Joe, I finally bought SBM! And I must say that whoever ripped you off and posted it on the net, did a lousy job of converting it to mp3 and posting it... Because the sound quality is far superior to what I heard before!

I truely believe this is your best all around rock record to date!

Of course I think that every time I hear new music from you!

It must be hard to top what you've already done Joe, I really don't know how you do it, all the new fresh ideas to explore...man! can't wait to see some of this new stuff live! See ya August 31st!
