Matt King!!!

I was visiting the Course Of Evolution site and realized the tremol-no thing... I can't beleive this guy that made it isn't selling it to the general public... he would make a killing! do you have one installed on any of your guitars yet?

from what I'm getting at by the looks of it, it looks like it would fit inside the spring cavity? and freely moves until you tighten the 2 knobs?

Anyways, it looks very cool, and it's a great design! many people have been designing Tremolo locks over the years, I have the trembolt by Zach which is ok, but I've got 5 different Guitars I can strap on if I busted a string, but this Tremol-no thing I would love to try!

Someone thought Dream Theater is British?

Their based somewhere in New York! The Lead singer in Canadian, he comes from a place called Penetang Ontario! about 40km to 50km east of where I live in Orillia, Ontario!

The Darkness... are very obviously a 70s 80s rock n roll style band... Jet reminds me of several bands from even the 80s punk scene...

Pardonez Moi... I must Poop now...

Tell us Joe... I know you're touring with Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy and you are hitting Toronto for that as well...

You also mentioned that you were doing "An Evening With Joe Satriani as well" is this more of a showcase around Christmas time or something? and would you be making your way to Toronto for that too?

You know, its funny Joe...

Before I even started listening & learning how to play your stuff... it seems we have the same musical interests... I've seen in several articles and interviews how Hendrix, Page, Clapton & Beck were your main influences... I definetly listened and learned how to play some of their stuff, not so much Jeff Beck or Jimi Hendrix stuff, because I had other musical tastes as well,

Me being Canadian, there were other musicians, my tastes were obviously focused on as well... There was Alex Lifeson, Randy Bachman, Rik Emmett, Jeff Heally, Kim Mitchell, Colin James, David Gogo... all incredible musicians and all of those musicians I just mentioned above, I don't know how to play a single tune of... yet I'm a faithful fan of...

But Clapton & Page, will probably go down with alot of people the most influential... I learned to play and probably forgot tonnes of Clapton & Page material... But Jeff Beck & Jimi Hendrix I found to be way more complex in their musical message... I don't know why, but for me it's almost Taboo to learn their stuff... if you can't play it right... don't do it... so to speak... affraid to learn it almost... Why is that??

wow Joe, I just listened to your live off the radio performance of "If I Could Fly"...

That is one beautiful, soaring, heart melting tune...

It's like Summer Song and Love Thing all wrapped into one!!

when you guys were talking about signature Satch tunes.. being either Summer Song, or Always... I think there's another one other than Satch Boogie for me...

IF I COULD FLY!!

Hi Joe, great to hear from ya man!

"If I Could Fly" is a great tune...

It's funny I just bought the album maybe 4 weeks ago, and for the 1st week I never really had time to sit down and listen to it... I was very busy with my band at the time, gearing up to open for a Pink Floyd tribute band. And at the same time I just started a new job, so I was like "BAND" & "JOB" crazy at the time and nothing else was sinking in until I got to "If I Could Fly" on the CD... ever since then, that song has been on the brain... and I'll tell ya, for me that song gets me through the tough days!

Excellent radio version by the way... I can't wait to hear that Live in Toronto...

Peace... Barrie

About the T2J CD!!

How many copies are in circulation?

I don't know if this is too big of me & I'm stepping out of bounds or not, but can I have one? lol

I've been out of the loop with all of this for quite sometime, I'm so darn busy with my own band and all the details of that, plus just recently starting a new job, is that I simply have no time to read all the posts...

I figured for the longest time that the T2J CD was a dead project, and nothing was ever gonna happen and then suddenly Joe's got a copy, and now Yamboy...

I was just curious really if anyone else had copies!!

I'm not ranting about it or anything but I was just curious...

Peace... Barrie

Hey Bil...

Yeah that was my same reaction to Alex's stuff too... he's very modest...

See with me, I consider myself more of a "bluesy rock player" but not a "blues player" there's a difference and I'm definetly not a shredder in comparison to some other playerz here on the T2J community... But I hear Alex's stuff and his style if I was capable to sound like that, that's the way I'd want to sound!

Heavy & Rich... Awsome rock tone!!

Alexandre!!! U FA KING ROC!!!

Just bought a cheap ass guitar... only $169.00 US off of Music123 dot com... A Washburn TB200 Tabu guitar... it comes stock with a Wilkinson Tremolo, and Grover 18:1 tuners and Alnico 5 humbucks!! and solid maple body & neck!!

sweet tone for the price!

Trutina man!!!

Yeah man, The Band is cool... we're just trying out a lead singer for the band, don't get me wrong we can all sing and that, but this guy is much better than us, which is cool...

He's got a Chad Kroeger(Nickelback) & Brad Arnold (3 Doors Down) thing, but he likes to rock it up alot too... which is cool... He sang in a Country Band as well so our sound will be very diverse if he's the right man for the job... Big Bugger too... Construction Framer by trade... looks like he could bend a steel pipe behind his head and turn it into a neckless...

Jeez Joe, it always seems to be a news critic or some Journalist that almost takes offence from your music, when musicians take it totally different.

I'd like to know why some people like certain types of music and are totally biased when it comes to other forms...

To me your music is the purist form of music out there. all you have to do is listen and you know what's being done, you can relate in it's mood and message... Your soul can groove with the emotion being brought out on the guitar... from intense to moody to sorrow, making the guitar wheep and scream and cry, pound, laugh...

Now, I'm obviously a real big fan of your stuff but that doesn't stop me from listening to stuff on the radio, TV etc. I'm influenced by tons of music, mostly guitar based stuff but that hasn't stopped from listening to classical or new age, country, New Metal, Hard Rock, Classic Rock, 80s hair rock...etc...

Not to bad mouth anyone, but it's kinda like speaking about Darwin's theory to a person who is set on religion and they can't be shown another possibility...

Obviously I'm not very relgious, but any person with an open mind can't be done any harm now can they? or are they just being led down a dark path?

Welp gang, Not sure what I'm going to do now...

Remember that new Job that I was all crazy over at 1st.. things have suddenly taken a nose dive for the worst... my boss hasn't payed me in three weeks and he won't return my calls... it's as if he skipped town on me... he's affraid to talk to me... This guy was supposed to teach me the ropes and the whole ten yards and he keeps coming up with excuses... and everything is a cluster fuck now... 3 weeks pay that he owes me, and all this week I've been fighting to try to work and all I keep getting his answering machine this week... I feel I've been patient enough through this whole thing, but the wife is turning to me to pay the mortgage now and that's not a reality at the moment... I had the balls to visit the boss on a job site today and confronted him and it's like he was surprised to see me cause it was so far away from town, but it's obviously weighing on his mind now, and now I think that's it... I'm looking for another job pronto... he was affraid to look at me in the eye and all that wonderful stuff... he's affraid to talk to me, and he won't come clean... therefore I find another job

I'll work when this guy really needs me, but as soon as a better job is available and I've been hired... I'll pull a disappearing act on him like I did to my last employer...

Neil, Alex... I can relate to your problems,

About 12 years ago Not with a radiator, but with a blown tire at 3:00am with a bunch of drunkin fools...

Please understand that I had just been dumped by this girl that I was seeing, She decided to go back to her ex and all... fine and dandy...

Me and my buddies decided to leave after 2nd last call at this awswome night club with tons of fish in the sea... and we started to make our way to my parents Passenger Van, when these 2 grubby guys came up to us with about 100 bucks on them saying they needed a ride desperately to get home... fine and dandy... I wasn't worried about being mugged or anything, not with the guys I was hangin out with then... so they promissed us the 100 bucks and a full tank of fuel for our troubles... and so the journey began... we had started to make our way to dropping them off in the next town and suddenly as I was merging onto the highway I blew a tire on black ice and proceded to fish tail and swerve into the embankment just off of the ramp... I smashed into a street sign and finally came to a fluffy stop in a snow bank down below... Well the 1st thing we had to figure out was how we were going to get out of 4 feet of snow with a blown tire... since there was only 5 of us... we sat for about 5 mins getting our barings.... And then suddenly to our amazement 15 guys all drunk as a skunk in the middle of the coldest day of the year, (about minus 40 degrees Celcius) showed up and offered to give us a push out of the rough stuff, we said yeah sure that'd be great...

So they started pushing us to the next ramp over since we were closer to the other one at this stage, so we were pushing pretty good with the help of me behind the wheel since (I was the only sober one there), and the crazy buggers nearly pushed me right in front of oncoming traffic... I immediately slammed on my breaks and one of the nice drunk guys slipped and burnt his head on the tail pipe that was pretty darn hot at this stage, he rolls his head in the snow and soothed it as best he could so he was sidelined now, but that was ok, pleanty of other guys to help out... hehe

Anyways, we finally got it out of that great big ditch without causing anymore incidents and proceded to wave someone down with a Cell phone to call a tow.. and then an arguement came about on how to change a flat tire, the question was if it was easier to loosen the lug nuts before you jacked the vehicle up, I agreed that it was easier to loosen it before you jacked it but the 2 clowns that we picked up disagreed, so that went on for about 15 minutes with no progress at all and then finally a tow truck showed up... me and my buddies called the guy over and talked to the guy about how to go about it, he said like what we said, loosen 1st then Jack it up after, well he gave us a hand with that, got the Donut out, put that on and then the guys that we picked up were nice enough to pay for that when the tow truck dude said he'd do it for nothing since it was so cold out and could tell we really needed to get home... but the drunks decided to pay him anyway, well then we finally got these guys home and low and behold this guy drove a fuel transport and was nice enough to fill us up for nothing..

This was cool... Before I was pretty much empty, I just got dumped and then a bunch of drunk dudes came along to help us out of a big jam... A very memorable story I'll tell ya... Let's just say my Bar days were over right then and there... But it was very entertaining to say the least... I gues you had to be there...lol

Peace Barrie

Brother al...

Just look at it this way, when I was in High School & College, any test that I had was pretty much (True & False) & Multiple Choice...

I don't ever having to remember writing out anything for a test... the only time an Essay was used was for oral presentations, as long as you had written and studied what it was about... it was pretty straight forward after that... that way the teacher knew you weren't bullshipping... therefore you always got a good grade... but a written test where you're writing out your answers... forget it... if you can pull that kind of dictation off, you're no doubt a smarter lad than I was... hehe

Hey Joe... I'm finally gettin around to hangin up my old posters of ya and some T-shirts I bought at some of your shows... it's a small room too... just my office... fa king thing looks like a Shrine....lol

Break out the candles....

Welp Joe...

I watched the G3 DVD and all I can really say is that Yngwie was a HOG through the whole concert... Which makes me think... Did Yngwie think it was "Yngwie J. Malmsteen & G2"?

Not to take anything away from Yngwie's ability as a guitar player but for lack of a better phrase; Yngwie deliberately went out of his way to steal the show... Not that he succeeded or anything but hey..

And for arguement sake, I don't think that's the whole point of G3 now is it?

I think It's really all about trading licks and drawing the other guy beside you into pulling out all the stops into a pressure cooker of song...

To solo through every entire song is not always appealing to some listeners in fact I think it's not in a guitar player's best interest into solo everything anyway. Not once did I see Yngwie even remotely strum a chord... when Joe and Steve were pounding out the chords to those songs, Yngwie went out of his way to stand out and shred it up, when it really wasn't his place to do so...

Now, the fact that a european guitar player plays a North American G3 show, and then suddenly the European G3 is upon us at this very moment right now, and the fact that Robert Fripp has taken over the role of guest G3 artist would quickly suggest in my opinion that Yngwie was not invited back for obvious reasons... I'm sure there's more to it than that. and I could be speculating but I'm calling it like I see it... just my opinion... Nuttin personal!

Peace... Barrie

Welp gang things are startin to look up... remember me tellin yas that my Renovations Job didn't work out too well???? Anyways, I found a new job... it isn't much, just delivering Pizzas and all... but for a Sunday night I made a killing...

Started at 4:00pm today and just got off at 1:00am and I made $115.00 bucks cash clear... better than what I was making per day at my (old, old) job... I was lucky if I was making $90.00 a day...

The Renovations job was going good while it lasted but my boss from that ran into trouble trying to pay me 20.00 an hour. if I worked 12 hours in a day... and having 3 or 4 days like that in a week... do the math and you'll see... and that's where the difficulties started... he started slackin off himself... calling me in later in the day. working half days... It got carried away and now he hasn't called me at all in going on 3 weeks... So I consider that Job done... but the cool thing is, my Dad works for the Pizza place too, and I didn't even need to apply... He just told them that I was available pronto, the rest is history...How cool is that??? I work tommorow after a job interview that I have scheduled for tommorow evening and things couldn't be better... this part time thing could be an extra 300 bucks a week for me that I didn't expect to get before.. so it's cool...

Anyways... hittin the hay... tired...

Peace... Barrie
