Clarky buddy!! never been to Canada eh? you should visit... barely anywhere else in the world where you'd see so much vegatation, especially in Northern Ontario... the highways here were litterally made with dynamite... the Canadian Shield is a massive rock formation surrounding most of Ontario but you just sctrach the surface in the Muskoka region...
Beautiful place to be in... and Winter...WOW what once was a golf course transforms into a ski resort for the winter...
later...

Hey gang... just picked up an awsome pedal... ISP Technologies Decimator Noise Reduction Pedal...
Anybody with a Boss single effect pedal board would love this pedal cause it would fit right in with the rest of your Boss pedals... I had my Boss Ds-1 cranked to full distortion with the gain cranked full as well, with the tone a couple of notches lower than half, and anything lower than -20 decibels doesn't even register, meaning that if I don't touch the strings, it doesn't even make a peep... and if you're curious what guitar I was using, it was my "Black Beauty" Fender American Strat. The only thing I might not like about it is that with delay it can cut off the repeats a little too soon, But I imagine with the right amount of fine tuning between distortion, delay and how much threshold you use on "The Decimator" you can get the right combination...
You might even like this pedal as well Joe, I'm sure you've got your noise gate situation in check but for the money and the quality of noise reduction it's worth every penny, and best of all Joe "It's Chrome" :)
ISP Technologies Decimator
Peace...

Chad Hadley!!! Buddy
Welp, yesterday I could see green grass and the odd brown leaf that I forgot rake, but today we're literally knee deep into the white stuff... a good 10 to 15 inches... it's a real bummer too cuz I have my street slicks and polished rims on my Honda still... I'm waiting until later tonight to shovel... unfortunately I share a driveway with a young couple that between the 2 of them equal close to 450 to 500 pounds and so there you have it... I have to do it all myself...
later... it's pizza night...

Wow Joe,
I just finished watching the G3 Live In Tokyo DVD, and it's just how I remember my 1st G3 experience but only better... and infact it was with John Petrucci... I have to say that John is a much better fit in the bill with you and Steve... the music just sounds better... Yngwie was ok but he tends to show boat much more often than he really should be entitled to. The music breathed a sigh of relief naturally especially when you guys were trading licks with one another with John...
The best DVD experience for G3 yet in my opinion... G3 with Eric Johnson is 2nd in my books and then a close 3rd with Yngwie live in Denver...
I'm anticipating a tour soon Joe, after the new album of course... can't wait for all that great stuff...
Peace Out
Barrie

Regarding the Berkeley thing...
I just wish I was 15 years younger... creepin up awful fast to 34 years old... but what do you do... I know college is for anyone of all ages, but I've chosen a particular career path that's weening me away from music, It's more a hobby than a profession at this stage of my life... don't get me wrong, I play everyday but it's after I've already worked a 10 hour day... a couple of hours later I have to pack it in to go to bed...
for all of you young bucks out there that have true ability, dig in and grab your goals and hang on tight... you'll regret it years later if you didn't, and wish you did... that's just a bit of advice...
peace...

Chad buddy!!!
great comments discribing Parry Sound by the way... Rocks is an understatement though... more like tons and tons of boulders and highway 400 goes right through it... lol
Orillia is sorrounded by lakes all around this area particularly 2 of them right off... Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching also referred to as the "Twin Lakes"
regarding guitar stores in the Barrie Area... there's quite a bit there... Gilbert Guitars (also in Orillia), Music Pro (2 locations) and if you were at one downtown Barrie then you were most likely at the 1st Music Pro...
In Orillia there's Tolton Music, right around the corner from where I live, True North Music down the road from me and of course Gilbert Guitars as well which originated in Orillia and is in the downtown core, you might want to note that Gilbert Guitars is one of very few official Fender Custom Shop dealers in Ontario...

Webmaster... I had an idea when it comes time to update this site for Joe's new CD... how about, beside our names we have a photo of ourselves like we can in MSN Messenger?
so that way everyone relate visually with the people they chat with in a whole new way... it's just an idea...
I think it would be a cool little thing... maybe set it up so that people can view them beside as thumbnails and have the capablity to turn them off as well... it could go over better that way... like I say it's just an idea... but I think it's cool...

Yeah sure I can tell you about Orillia... it's about 100km or 60 miles away from Toronto (give or take)... right on highway 11 which eventually meets up with highway 400...
like I said before it has 2 major lakes surrounding the city and it's also known as the Sunshine City, it's only 30km away from the city of Barrie (my name sake) which at one time was the largest growing city in all of North America... let's put it this way, the city of Barrie went from 50 000 people to close to 150 000 people in less than 10 years, Orillia is slowly growing in leaps and bounds, when I 1st moved here in 1988 the population was about 23 000 and it's just over 30 000 people... if you're looking for a workout centre the local YMCA is your best bet... they have College gyms as well that you can join as well, specifically at Georgian College here in Orillia...
and it has a very large Casino where some major big name bands and musicians alike come and play while on tour...
hope that helps...
peace... off to work I go...

Matt buddy!!!
do you have any recent live video performances we can check out? or have I missed something lately?
with good reason... just started this new job back in October and things have been spinnning out of control ever since.. it's a great job but the people are sofa-king crazy... I'm ready to admit myself somewhere... ah it doesn't matter regardless... the only happiness I've ever had in general is music & the guitar... nothing else brings joy to me, I feel numb & dare I say depressed all the time without it...
I wish I could open up my own guitar making factory...
"that" I did enjoy when I built a few...

Yep Lenny roxx... a shame that some of the best have to leave so soon... just when they get started... of course with Lenny it was later found out that he was murdered excluding the fact that drugs were still found in his system... whatever the reason why some of the most talented die too early, it's still a shame to see that's for sure...
speaking of Randy Bachman.. I just recently heard "Blue Collar" on the radio... it's been years since I've heard that tune on the radio tuner... I'm sure there's alot of homage to the late Lenny Breau in that tune... I love Randy's taste in Jazz.. great stuff...
I've heard that Jazz in some cases can't truely be taught to anyone, it's something that you stumble on, or you learn by ear training what exactly fits... I've noodled and dabbled, and one day I hope I can play that stuff so fluidly...
ah well, back to noodlin...
