Ok Rich! about the Video compression and stuff... it sounds like 1st you have to get it transferred somehow to VHS and then find someone with an "ATI All In Wonder Cable TV Video Card" and then record an Mpeg by attaching the VCR to the Video card... and then of course you'll have to compress it to a resonable size after that...

Glad you had a good holiday from the busy schedule of Rock Stardom Joe... I wish I had it that hard... ;)

G3 talks again eh? I wonder who you'll get this time around, A Live DVD and CD for G3 would be cool for those shows again... I think the guest guitar player of the night is a cool idea once again... if you perform in Toronto, I hope you would consider calling up some local Canadian guitar players that happen to be free that night...

Some good choices would be :

Alex Lifeson (Rush),

Rik Emmett (Ex-Triumph Guitarist/Singer),

Kim Mitchell (Max Webster),

Jeff Healy (Ever seen Roadhouse with Patrick Swazee? Jeff Played Cody, the in house band guitar player),

Colin James (went on tour with Stevie Ray Vaughn before his passing),

Ian Thornley (Big Wreck- they opened for you Joe May 96 in Toronto).

Starry Night is a beautiful tune Joe... goodluck with the Grammy this year...

Personally, if the grammy nominators would realize how talented you are; Someone that can come up with such a fluid melody 99.9% of the time... then you would have dominated the instrumental rock catagory nearly every year.

Also, I know it would be such a great thing to win a grammy on such a wonderful tune like many of your others, but maybe the soft ballad is the wrong choice to win one on, Mindstorm is an amazing finger blistering tune, that shows just how "Extreme" you are, and this is where your true talent shines brightly!

Anyways Joe! Good luck in every way!!! I really hope you win!

Peace...Barrie

Eyes OF Fire that's too bad about your recitle... I'd be disappointed too, but look at it this way... you have time to master your song, and maybe you can improve on it even more... just consider it a bump in the road that knocked you slightly off course... and that you're working your way back ontop of things...

I know what it's like, I guess it was about 20 years ago now... I had broken my arm badly during a soccer training camp workout session, and that same day all us professional soccer hopefulls were supposed to meet a really famous goaltender from the North American Professional Soccor league, at the time it was bigger than NHL hockey, anyways... I had spent 8 hours in the emergency room at the hospital and all my dreams of meeting my soccer hero were shattered... but amazingly it turned out at the end.... When my dad arrived there he screamed at the doctors on duty for letting me sit in the emergency that long without proper care and he was going to phone the police if something wasn't done about it right away... sure enough they had me in within 5 mins... patched me up and sent me on my way... I went back to the training camp and a stroke of luck... the professional soccer player was just in the change room getting changed to go home and we had bumped into him while we were gathering up my clothes so that they could take me home... the coolest thing of all more than just learning soccer stuff was that he had signed my Cast and then he gave me front row tickets to his next game... I was blown away!!

This story had an awsome happy ending I know, but make this spring rectile be your awsome happy ending!!! make that song so good, your teacher would regret and appologize that she cut you from the 1st recitle!!!

I hope things work out for you!!

Peace.... Barrie!

Yeah Clarky!

Canadian Rock Maple!!

The best choice for necks!!! Really nice stuff to work with... as white as paper... but when it gets that aged look (petina) it looks fantastic!! Birdseye is my favourite!! Mostly comes from the province of Quebec...

Out west where the province of British Columbia is, they grow Western Big Leaf (Soft Maple) good for guitar bodies and that's where most of the flame, quilted, wild, tiger, spalted bookmatched tops come from!!

It kinda stinks for us though to buy Domestic Select Maple here in Canada, my Boss said to me that for Canadians it's the most expensive wood for us because alot of the time it's harvested here in Canada by an American harvesting company and then for our own wood we have to pay practically double the price per board foot than the US does...

and that my friend sucks the big one! I think it's close to $4.00 a board foot here in Canada, maybe more or less (it increases and decreases all the time, supply & demand), and since our Canadian dollar is only about $0.55 to $0.60 cents worth compared to the American dollar well there you have it... let's put it this way, if they ever come up with a way to create one North American currency............... I'm All For It!!!

Clarky... Actually my guitar neck is made of Birdseye... and believe it or not, the figuring has little to do with the strength! Warmoth always backs up their research, and they don't believe that it has anything to do with the strength of the wood nor does it affect the tone, the difference is simply cosmetic! and a company that makes such a high quality product I have complete faith in them, another strengthening feature is that my neck is "scarf jointed", right where the angle is, and that also promotes stablity!

But at one time, I believed that it would only make the neck weaker until I saw Eddie Van Halen's Ernie Balls & Wolfgangs come stock with Birdseye necks and fret boards! And some how I think Eddie is very similar with Joe about having a signature guitar that comes equiped with the finest of materials!!

Yep... Here it is... "from the Warmoth website"

Birdseye Maple (Acer Saccharum) Birdseye is another type of figure found in hard maple. It shows best in flatsawn wood. There is a wide variety of size and shapes in the "eyes" to keep them interesting. There seems to be a recurring rumor that Birdseye maple is unstable and not suited to guitar necks. having made tens of thousands of Birdseye necks, we can assure you that it is no different in stability than plain maple. AAA grade denotes very heavy figuring. Used for both necks and fingerboards

COMPLETELY NOTHING TO DO WITH JOE, GUITAR, OR THIS WEBSITE.....

I've had Technical Difficulties with my basement floor drain... Everytime we flush the toilet, have a shower/ bath or run water into the sink... The floor drain keeps backing up darn it all... And it stinks something awful

Not sure what to do, I guess I should phone the City and tell them what's going on... it sounds to me like it might have something to do with the main drain that goes out of the house, and that it's either frozen , cracked, or majorly clogged! but that should be the City's problem seeing as it's underneath the house or underneath the yard and a plumber can't do anything about it by normal means... Hmm!?!?

Anyone else ever heard of this problem? It would help, greatly if someone told me what they did if they had a similar situation!!

Ah, to be a home owner!

Welp, back to mopping the Basement floor!

COMPLETELY NOTHING TO DO WITH JOE, GUITAR OR THIS WEBSITE PART 2!!!

Welp, $240.00 later and I finally found out what it was, thanks for some of the people for taking the time and reading my message earlier today, No, it wasn't a septic tank problem, I am hooked up to City Sewage... in this neck of the woods, everyone is... Only cuntry folk are on septic in these here parts... No Condoms either!

It was actually a clog of roots from an annoying Lilac Tree that I'll be cutting down in the Spring Time... everytime the toilet was flushed all the toilet paper that was used kept getting tangled in the roots and caused a real nasty clog, A 50 foot snake was used to remedy the problem, the pipe went down about 6 feet and then extended to the front of the property, and still the roots from that tree grew into the Main Drain, the plumber told me that the Lilac Tree is really bad to have pipes near it because the roots grow straight down, they don't spread like other trees roots would... But the plumber warned me that it would only happen again unless all the trees in that area were removed... not pretty!!

So I better get a chainsaw and cut it all down... I didn't like it anyway! only blooms once a year and then it's ugly as sin!

Thanks For Your Time Gang!!

Peace....Barrie!
