Joe! I absolutely love the new album. I think I have listened to it at least twenty times now. If I hadn't found you back in 89', I really don't think I would be here today. It seems as though your music is the only thing I live for now these days. So I hope you find some comfort in knowing as long as your alive, I will be too. I just wanted to thank you for being such an inspiration. My feelings can be best described by the last song on your new album. "You Saved My Life". Thanks my friend. Your fan for life. Aaron Hill

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I have not posted in quite a while now. I'm sitting here in Kuwait if you don't know is right next to Iraq. I just hope I'm not still here when the you know what hits the fan. I still have a few months left here. So keep me and the rest of my brothers and sisters in arms in your prayers and hope for our safe return home. See ya in 2003! Later. Oh I forgot to give praise to Joe. "Joe" "You ROCK!" I'm just thankful I have his music here with me. Its the only thing that helps me keep my sanity. Peace Everyone. From the one and only " rcknrllcwby" ME

Another night at the Grammys down the tubes. I still think it sucks that Joe didn't win for Starry Night but I was happy that they at least played part of it during some of the other award presentations. Joe's music is so much bigger than the Grammys anyway. I think it was great that Norah Jones stole the show. I was really impressed with her the first time I heard her sing. Which happened to be in Kuwait of all places. Say what you want to say but there is no denying her talent. Say,is it me? or isn't Avril Lavigne an adorable little Canuck? Her music is not so bad either. As much as I despise the little boy band N'sync. They did do a pretty good job with the Bee Gee's tribute. I thought the opening of the show with Simon and Garfunkel singing the Sound of Silence was pretty good too. Well thats about enough of my babbling. Better luck to you next year Joe. You're still my favorite musician. Someday I hope the music world wakes up and embraces your music like it deserves to be emraced and that you finally get the recognition you deserve. Sincerely, a Satch fan for life. Aaron Hill

This message is for those of you who are not narrow minded or musically challenged. I just had the pleasure of listening to one of the greatest new singers ever. I highly recommend any of you to give him a listen. His name is Josh Groban. If he had a chance to be able to perform at the Grammy's, he would have put everyone there to shame. I first heard him perform a couple duets with Charlotte Church last summer. I knew right away that this kid was going to be a force to be reckoned with. So if your curiousity gets the better of you, give him a listen. I'm sure you'll agree, hes got skills. Peace to all. (except if you're a muslim religious fanatic hell bent on Jihad and the destruction of infidels such as myself. ) If you are then you can just kiss my red, white and blue Yankee Arse. I know I might sound bitter but spending six months of your life any where in the middle eastern desert will do that to a person. I left a lot of good friends behind in that rathole. I really hope they make it back alright. "Always with me, Always with you"

Wierd!!!!! I was just watching a VH1 special on Van Halen and saw that Steve Vai actually played for David Lee Roth when Van Halen kicked him to the curb. I grew up on 80's music. How and the hell did I miss that? Oh thats right. Never mind. I didn't become familiar with Steve until I saw him in the movie "Cross Roads". I think I might have to research this. Which came first, Steve jams with David Lee? or Steve has it out with Ralph Machio in a" Devil went down to Goergia" kind of way in "Cross Roads" ? Let me know cause I can't remember that far back. It sucks to be thirty-something!

Just got finished playing "Tears in the rain" over and over again. I never get tired of playing it. It also happens to be the only satch song I know how to play completely. I know bits and pieces of other songs but my playing ability is quite limited. I'd highly recommend anyone interested in playing to give it a try. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to play a song created by a musical genius such as Joe. I'm sure all you other guitar playing satch fans can agree. Well take it easy ya'll. I'm going over to musicfriends.com to shop for a new guitar. Later

MICHELE- Thanx for the heads up. The older I get the worse my CRS gets. I did have the pleasure of seeing Joe and Steve and Billy live for the first time, same year as a matter of fact. I remember it well. A nice 800 something mile drive to Denver for G3 Live Jul 2001 at the Fillmore theatre with special guest John Petrucci. Awesome show, but I don't have to tell you that. You saw it. Vai was quite the showman! Of coarse I expected him to be especially after I watched his performance on the G3 Live DVD with Joe and EJ. I really wanted to catch one of Joes this past year but duty called and I got shipped to the worlds largest litter box. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky enough to stay in country long enough to catch one of his next performances. A guy can dream. Wow I'm up to 7 whole posts now. I'm on a roll. HOLLA atcha later. CIAO! ;)

MIchele- 800 miles is nothing to listen to Joe play! What can I say? I'm one of Joes disciples. My next stunt is to get my Harley custom painted with a "Surfing with the Alien" theme behind it. I was thinking about having it done like the original album cover but now I have some other ideas in mind. I mean, whats the point of getting it custom painted if your not going to be original ? Right? I'll let you know how that pans out. Well I need to crawl down into my hole and jam out a while. Take it easy my fellow satchaholic. Later! :)

Sup Ya'll? Man I really need to quit staying up till the wee hours of the morning. I would have posted yesterday, which was about an hour ago but I have been busy scanning the net for design ideas for my custom Harley paint job. I took her out for a little exercise today. It was about a hundred mile jaunt in about 35 degree weather. It don't matter to me , I ride all year round as long as there isn't any snow on the ground. The only thing I'm worried about is how much this new paint job is going to cost me. It's ridiculous what some of these guys charge for such a small painting surface. I'm afraid I might be looking at about $1500.00 minimum. (YIKES!) The theme behind the paint job is going to be "Surfing with the Alien" Believe me once it's done, I aint never getting rid of this bike. KInda like LYZ with her guitars. You go girl! I don't think I would ever have the heart to part with my first guitar. Well G-nite ya'll. Time to finally catch some zzzzzz's. Hey Boyd- Happy Belated B-day. Now you can wasted legally. Of coarse now it won't be as much fun. He He. (JOKE) No really, I'm serious.

Going skiing tomorrow. That ought to be fun. Hey Joe, have you done any snow boarding this year? I'll be sure and take some of your music with me. Listening to Joe while skiing. Now thats "One Big Rush". Take it easy, my fellow satchaholics. I'll report back in tomorrow and let you know how my trip went. Later

Just thought I'd drop in and say my ski trip was awesome. It was a beautiful day, a little cold and windy but it snowed all day. There was powder every where. I did have one rather embarrasing moment on my first run down the hill. Well me and a couple of friends decided to take one of the easier routes down the first hill just to make sure we remembered what the hell we were doing. To make a long story short, when we neared the bottom of the hill I noticed what appeared to be a trail that headed straight for the lift. I told my friend I was going to take it so I started to bomb the last part of the hill we were on torward the so called trail. Due to the weater conditions what I failed to see was the orange rope stretching across the trail I was heading for. So I run right into this rope with my stomach going about 35 mph. I felt like I was in a cartoon, because after I hit the rope I went about fifteen feet farther then was slingshot backwards onto my ass. So there I was laying on my back with my skiis sticking straight up. I never laughed so hard. I think my friend thought I was crying. If somebody had caught it on video I think they might have won the 10,000 dollar prize. It was a fun day. I think I'm going back up on Wednesday. :)

Hey all! Just like to say killer new song Pete. Maybe Joe should consider bringing you along on the next G3 tour. I'll be attending the Seattle show 15 Oct. Its a 700 mile drive, but it's worth it. I just found out last week that I'm supposed to deploy to Baghdad in November. What a drag. At least I'll have the pleasure of being able to see Joe before I depart. Well take it easy people and hope to see some of you guys there in Seattle. Peace my friends.

Just wanted to say "Great" show in Seattle. It was nice to hear a couple of songs I haven't heard live before. Joe started with "Why" and then jumped into "Crushing Day" it was awesome. He also played "Midnight" for us. I wish he would have played more songs from SBM but all we got was "Starry Night". Thats O.K. Joe, I forgive you. The Paramount is a really nice theatre. I'm not sure why there were seats there because nobody was sitting in them. It didn't bother me any, it's kind of hard to rock out sitting down anyway. I thought they all performed very well. Yngwie is talented no question about that. I'm still not quite sure I care for his style of playing. He was still entertaining none the less. I think he may need some Rittlen or something. He has packed on a few pounds. I was worried he might have a heart attack. I think Vai summed it up best when he said Yngwie was a "FREAK". I thought that was pretty funny. He did manage to get back some of my respect when he played "Voo Doo Child". The only thing that would have made the show better is if they had turned the mic's up. I couldn't hear Yngwie sing "Voo Doo Child" or hear Billy sing "La Grange". Oh I just found out I'm going to be a first time father. So my unborn child got to attend his first G3 concert. He or she is only the size of a pinhead and probably hasn't developed ears yet, but I'm sure was one rockin little "zygote" A future Joe fan in the making. Poor things probably going to be born a nervous wreck. Oh well. Take it easy. Later ;)

I got the chance to travel down memory lane recently. I borrowed some VHS tapes from a fellow co-worker and satch fan as well Mark Ryan. I got to watch Joe, Vai, and Brian May jam out at the Guitar Expo 92' show. That was pretty cool. He had also taped a Joe performance on the David Letterman show where he had played the Exremist. What really sparked my interest was a recording of an Austin City Limits performance by a guy named Stanley Jordan. That guy was amazing. He played the giutar like a piano. Looked like all fret tapping to me. He could play rythyme and lead parts simultanously. Any of you guys ever heard of him? If you get a chance check out his work. I also watched a tape on a guy named Leo Kottke. Also another incredible performer. He plays an acoustic guitar like nobodys business. He kind of reminds me of redneck comedian Ron White. Only he can play the giutar. So if you get a chance check these guys out. You won't be disappointed. Later Y'all

I know it's 3 months late, but I'd like to introduce the arrival of my newborn son and future satchaholic Cougar Ray Hill born 24 May 04 at 8:39 p.m. He's really a chip off the old block and I couldn't be more proud. He attended his first satch concert before he was born back in October 93 during a G3 performance in Seattle. I just hope Joe is still touring when Cougar is old enough to start rockin out. Peace Y'all, I got to get that little rascal to bed now. Later.

It's been forever since I've posted a message here. Just thought I'd chime in since I just bought tickets to the 14 April show at the Big Easy Concert House in Spokane Washington. This will be the closest Joe concert I have been to yet. Only a 6 hour drive from where I live. I'm pretty stoked. I can't wait. I plan on bringing one of my buddies along with me this time. He's never been to a Satch show before and true to my former nickname of " JS DISCIPLE " I'll try and get him to convert too our side and abandon his evil listening ways. I figure my part will be getting him there and Joe will have to do the rest. So Joe do me a favor and "Play that funky music, White Boy" and show my friend where the real talent comes from. Please don't hold back either. Play some hot lick that will set his hair on fire. It's all falling out anyway, well to be fair to my friend so is mine. Well Peace Out everyone. Maybe we'll see some of you there. I'll be next to the guy with the smoldering head. Looking forward to an awesome show Joe. You're the man!!! See ya soon.

Hey Joe! "GO AHEAD, MAKE MY DAY" and please tell us all the tentative scheduled release date for the G3 DVD you made in Tokoyo with Steve and John Petrucci. Our inquiring minds would like to know. I can't lie. I hate surprises. The suspence is killing me. By the way, the Gig you played back in April at the "Big Easy Concert House" was awesome. I ended up spending the night sleeping in my truck at some rest stop in Cour'd' lene on my way back to Montana. A little cold and cramped but worth the trip. The good news today is they found that little girl Shasta at a Denny's resturant with her abductor. I'd love to be able to spend just 2 minutes alone with that scumbag. Hopefully they will be able to find her brother alive as well. Lets all pray for his safe return.

Hey Joe!!! Just wanted to say the new album is awesome! Very cool and very soulfull. I especially like the way you ended the album using the "Crowd Chant" Jam. I'd have to agree with you on that one being a fun one to perform live. Sounds like a good one to have either at the start or end of your setlist!! Looking forward to hopefully being able to see you play sometime this year. Stay cool and inspired.

Here I am stuck over in the middle east once again. I missed my chance to catch G3. Better luck next year, I guess. I would have loved to have heard Paul Gilbert play. You know what I'd like to see is Joe strap on some Desert Cammy's and join the USO tour. A lot of entertainers have done it. (Hint, Hint) So what do you say JOE?? Even if you don't agree with the war over here, we're still here far from home, away from our loved ones fighting and dying for you and every other American. By the way, you're all welcome. I'm glad too do it. This is my fifth trip and although I'm not in any imminent danger this time around, there are plenty of others who are. So with the help from the rest of you, maybe we could convince Joe to come over this way. Just include "Joe join the USO" in your messages and let's see what he has too say. Thanks. Hey Joe, even if a USO tour isn't something you would consider. Just wanted you too know I still love ya man. I'm still going to purchase anything you put on the market and make every attempt to attend one of your concerts. Keep on making that "Strange Beautiful Music" Sincerely, Your friend and life long fan Aaron Hill. CIAO!!
