Got my JCM900 last night and took it to my first practice. couldnt get it working with my pedals first of all and thought i had bought a duff amp. then just went straight in and worked. what beautiful tones came out of it. I'm in love!! it was wicked!

I ahve jsut bought an EQ pedal for my board. I want to use it as a boost for lead breaks as in my band i tend to be ok with rhythm but get drowned in solos. Where would be the best place for this pedal?? Should it be in the front end or in the effects loop?

Also should I use it to boost the signal when doing lead breaks or use it to cut the signal when doing rhythm?

Anyones input would be greatly appreciated!

962 - Hi thanks for the input. Unless i am going for a clean rhythm then basically my lead and rhythm tones are the same only the lead needs to be louder for obvious reasons.

Last night i put it before the input to my amp and it seems to have the desired affect although i didnt try the wah pedal which im hoping it wont affect. I noe have guitar -> wah -> compressor -> noise suppressor -> Ds-1 (jap) -> Ds-1 (keeley) ->EQ ->Marshall then in the loop I have Chorus -> flanger -> delay. I mainly use either the amps overdrive or the DS-1 for my whole playing adding the delay for lead.

wooohooo one week until G3, I must say i am looking forward to it greatly.

So Clarky, Jelly Man, 962, Master Yoda and whoever else is coming to Bournemouth, what is the plan? What time are people planning to get down to Bournemouth?

Austin - Funnily enough I have just started playing on Vice City. Its a whole load of fun!! sticking some Satch in the MP3 player and driving like a maniac lsitening to rockin' tunes! I seem to be doing random missions though, what happens? when can i start buying houses and take over the place?

Clarky - bit harsh on the driving thing!! probably better not getting too drunk anyhow! Don't wanna be getting up to go to the loo every 5 mins in the concert!

Austin - cool i look forward to getting that stage! It really is a cool game. I hope they come out with a new one soon maybe somehow making it multi player?

Austin Cool! i didnt know another was planned! Dunno really how they could make it multi player. Guess i didnt really think much about it but i do enjoy games that have amulti player side to them! I guess that just couldnt happen with this one!

I must check out Velvet Revolver. How's Slash's guitaring in it? is it similar to the GnR solos? How I love GnR!

Hello all G3 in only a few days! WOOHOO

Master Yoda - Without looking at the ticket i think it was around £28 with a £1 booking fee or something like that. It's gonna be good! I can feel it in me bones!

Boooo!!!!! Didnt win an aftershow pass! nevermind! It's still gonna be a great show i'm sure!

Jazzy - yes i'm off on sunday to see G3 should be good! I will try and take some pictures!

The Darkness are pretty good! I enjoy some of their tunes. Quite refreshing here in the UK from the usual shite!

WOW!!! - G3 in Bournemouth was fantastic. Just got home. Absolutely fantastic.

As far as fripp goes, he really didn't seem to fit in. i don't think i would regocnise him if i passed him in the street. He didn't say hello or anything and just stayed at the side of the stage! No booing fortunately though!

Joe and Steve were absolutely amazing. Didn't think it would be sooo good live. definitely an amzing first Satch gig!

962 - Yer it was cool to meet you too, sorry didn't get much of a chance to chat though! Well good to put faces to names!

I personnally thoroughly enjoyed the gig. I didn't really get on with Fripp but fair play to the man. it was a shame about the clapping and i did notice that 70% of people started to get restless after about ten minutes. If only he moved his seat to center stages and said a few things!

When Steve came on i just thought it was amazing. The sound wasn't perfect but i wasn't expecting perfect sound. Truley breathtaking for me.

I agree on Joe's new sound. Go back to Marshalls!!!!! Still sounded really good. Great to hear some new ones!! My IS there love in space CD has arrived this morning!

I though the Jam was good but again no Fripp that was visibly doing much. He did play some good solos but hidden in the corner!! Luckily i could see him as had pucker seating the middle but he didnt even have lights on his head! The only way i knew he was playing when Joe and Steve turned to the corner instead of moving about the stage interacting with the audience!

Been listening to my new Cd's today. Velvet Revolver is certainly very cool. Thanks Austin for your input on that one!! certainly glad i got it!

Delfino - Jxut checking out your tune now. some good stuff going there. How did you make the backing? I see from your posts you keep changing it! Where are you planning to take it from here?

Austin - I really like most of the tunes on the Velvet Revolver album! Which ones are your favourite?
