Can anyone help?

I want to write a chord progression that goes from an Amajor progression going into A Minor then back to Amajor, I love going between major and minor but am not 100% sure how to work out the chords for this?

Also also if i was playing in A Minor and wanted to then go to C major, how would I stop the progression sounding like A min being that C is the relative major?

Cheers

Olly

Edit : doh

Clarky Cheers - I will experiment with that, but I do want to try and make it a longer chord progression, and i'm still a bit confused about how to make a change between a minor and its relative major!

Cheers for the help though

Clarky - Cheers dude - is there anything you dont know about music? lol

I'll get those tried tonight! - i like the sound when modulating of using those dominat 7 chords, it always works well but its the chords in between i get stuck on!

Is there any other ways of modulating like the dominant 7 idea?

the main thing that confuses me is that within a major chord progression, minor chords can be used without changing the mode. yer? so the whole idea of going from A Min to C Maj seems strange as it would still sound like A Min.

Cheers

Hey joe and everyone

Wondering what strings people use in here? I have always in the past gone for the cheapests sets I can find and buy like 10 sets @ £2.50. I then thought I may be missing out on tone etc with cheapies so last time I got 10 sets of d'arrio or whatever they are called. I have found that they snap all the time, The cheapies never snapped on me and just wore out but so far I have had 4 string breakages in about a month using 2 seperate sets?

What are peoples views on this? Should I go back to cheapies?

Cheers

Olly

Greg M - I use 9s but the point is my strings never broke before with the cheapies now they seem to snapping all the time!! and its not just say the E its random!! I had the A go the other day and i dont think that has ever happened before!! lol

I think i'll probably go back to cheapies as i cant tell any difference in sound and at £2.50 a pack you cant go wrong!!

Artanis - I was having problems in the past with many things!! lol - but yer I was having trouble with not being able to get a good sound out of the taiwan one, affter playing with it for a while i got a reasonable sound but nothing compared with the newer 2! also I had an issue with a hum which i wiped out with my noise suppressor, since getting the newer pedals and the official boss power supply the hum has been reduced to a hiss so i can turn down the noise suppressor!

Hello people, havent posted for ages. How is everyone?

I have been checking out powertab recently and that is a very interesting way of making learning tab easier! i would reccomend anyone who hasnt tried it to try it! great for those hard runs or whatever but the midi sounds for guitar do sound a bit shite especially on bends etc!

Im stuggling at the moment with trying to learn more chord shapes and voicings. Anyone got any tips on how to learn lots of varieties of chord shapes without just reding from a chord book?

Anyway, Joe keep rocking and catch everyone soon

Hello!! I cant believe it, I am finally up to date with T2J - its taken me 3 hours to read through 25 pages and goodness me what a lot has happened!! I really think I should be doing work instead of T2J!

962 - I know this is a bit late but I must say about them O ring washer things for the whammy, I was so shocked at the price and whats more the fact that they last about a week. apparently they slowly increade their life as the guitar ages due to the other washer inside wearing down? I dont know if this is true? but very annoying! also they are a bugger to take off and put on!!

Matt - I will check your tune as soon as I can!!

Aarren I will also be checking your new IUMA stuff ASAP

Whoever put the link for the satch backing tracks, thanks so much, I saw that page once before and forgot the link!! amazing stuff!!

Hiram - goodness me!!! I will definately be interested in hearing you stuff so make sure you tell me when you have it on MP3!

Unfortunately i have no new stuff on my IUMA, still not happy with my song writing but its coming along.

Does anyone else record by coming out of the emulated DI socket from a marshall amp into their PC? I find that it alters the sound, makes it much more tinny and nasty sounding, as people may have heard my my IUMA? does anyone else get this problem or know a resolution to it? I have no high wuality Microphone unfortunately so cant do it like that?

Anyway Joe you rock and I hope that somewhere in the next 25 pages of posts we are gonna see some blue!!

Cheers

Olly

Dave - thanks a lot - I will check out the speaker plug in - maybe thats a way to go, dont know iuf they have them for the software I use!! I love the sound I get from my amp but its just recreating it on a recording!! I guess a good mic is the way to go really and headphones!! but i a m guessing a decent mic for that purpose would get expensive? anyone?

Cheers!

Edit: wow 100 posts!! cool!!
