Hello people
Just a quick note to day hello to Joe and T2J peeps
Question: - In my quest to learn guitar I have brought many tab books and music books - only one of these books has really provided me with great help - It is called rock lead performance and I would reccomend it to anyone
What has been your favourite "learning book" or doesnt people use them?
take it easy

Thanks to everyone who listened to my cover of Ceremony! its very much apreciated - hopefully I can soon start writing my own stuff to put up there!!
BeeZer - if you still have had no joy, I am more than happy to give you the working file direct via MSN? ollyno1uk@hotmail.com is my address
- that goes for anyone else who needs backing tracks or just wants my msn
Matt King - Thanks for the reply to my email! keep up the good work!
Aarren - that is a very kind offer. I will mail you the midi file tonight. It would be fantastic to have a better backing!! Then I can redo the whole thing incorpoerating your advice! - Did you get a drummer for your track? it sounds really professional - what kind of direction to you plan to take with that tune from here?
Cheers again
Olly

Mowlie - that is cool - I need to learn how to do that. using just a looping drum beat can be very demotivating when trying to compose! I will try and check it out!!
Cheers

Aarren - geez why can't anything in life be simple??!! all I want is to be able to programm some simple drums!! I need to learn somehow!! I'll see if i can get a 'evaluation' version off of kazaa or something and give it a trial!!! It must have taken you ages to program !!!
I will be able to mail over the midi file tonight, I am at work at the moment!
So I see you have been playing guitar a long time! Do you teach guitar? do you need to have qualifications to legally teach guitar in the uk?
Cheers
Olly

Aarren - thanks again fro your time and advice!! Checked out the updated version of your tune!! Do you know yet if it is going to be purely instrumental or whether it will have lyrics?
Slave to sound - I always find when im in a rut like you sound to be in at the moment, learning new material helps me back out. Pick an artist and learn some of their stuff even if its just part of it!! see if that helps!
Plabin - If your E always breaks easily, check where the string lies down by the bridge, sometimes a bit of worn metal or grit can be under the string causing easy breakage. it might just need smoothing down
Sammy Andrews - thanks for the kind words - Good luck with your playing and let me know when you have something recorded so I can check it out!
Ovation1 - thanks for checking and thanks for the kind words!! I think I have a lot of improving to go before I can truley make Joe proud - lol - thanks again!!!

Trutina - thanks for listening - its appreciated
962 - yer I really want to be doing original stuff but I cant get started!! I have decided to continue learning as much material as possible for the time being until i can develop my own sound, at teh moment if i write something it is pretty much always a non starter! I seem to have an inability to create melodies it tends to sounds like mindless playing!
- I tend to try and steer clear of guitar mania now in all honesty. I did get my guitar there but strings picks etc all are got cheaply off the net and they are quite overpriced compared to a lot of other places.
Aarren - cheers for taking the time to do ceremony!! that was pretty quick! I will give it a listen when i get home tonight!
Hope everyone else is cool!

Trutina and whoever else said - for the first few years of my playing i didnt use my pinky then i realised i really should use it and decided to spend some time working on it. At first I couldnt control it at all but after 1-2 months of training it it started to fit in with my other fingers. Its a pain to have to chenge your whole technique but defintaly worth that extra effort!!
962 - Yer I did buy my £1200 guitar from there and some of my pedals but the thing that got me was i thought I had a good deal when they reduced the guitar from 1299 to 1200 for me but then I saw on their website that they were advertising it for 1199 and i felt slightly cheated!! I still got a stand and strap thrown in but still, They did say it was due to the correct setting up of it etc but again I felt they were just making excuses as Ibanez state clearly that all gitars are supplied fully set up!! then I checked the intonation and it wasnt spot on anyhow!!
- anyway I gather you are talking about Jons band? He gave me lessons for a while a year or so ago and i would definately like to see him play!! let me know the details etc!
Aarren - cheers for the updated file - If I get some time I may thinkabout re recording Ceremony but Im desperate to begin writing soemthing of my own!!

962 - try here The Gander
Definately sounds pretty cool - i'll see if i can get down. Is this the last gig they are playing together or something?
Clarky/Stu Clone
Melodic minor decending = Natural minor ? ok why? playing the melodic minor decending it is still the notes of melodic minor ? and still different from natural minor? whats goingon there then?
Hope everyone else and JOE is cool.

962 - Sounds like I missed out on a good one!! I definately want to check out jons playing. I obviously had lessons from him but you dont really get to hear someones true playing in a lesson situation!
I'll check out some more EJ tonight I think. Im really getting into SRV! Was watching the G3 concert on DVD for the first time and saw what EJ looks like. He certainly doesnt seem to have the same stage presence as Joe or Steve but sweet tone!
Do the Stu - cool review on the G3 concert!! Cheers for that! Well good that Joe answered your post!!
Regarding Joes new choice of amp - does anyone know if this is going to be the way he stays now or is it more of a trial. It seems some people think his tone is better with the peavey and others think it isnt!
Take it easy peeps and good luck with the shows JOE
