Help! - I'm in a rut. It's quite a bad one this time. My guitar playing seems to be going downhill, I seem completely incapable of creating music of my own despite trying for the last year or so and its driving me to depression (well not quite that extreme but getting there)

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated at this time as im very close to putting the guitar down for good.

Hope everyone else is cool!

Guitarcake - I have just checked out your SWTA, I was very impressed! Definately a good cover and the tapping bit actually sounded really good i thought!

Clarky - thanks for the advice. I have been taking a few breaks from guitar recently to try and sort this out, I will certainly try what you said about the sight reading but as for the composing without an intrument, I cant compose with my instrument let alone without it! I don't think i have the ability of writing down musical ideas yet. would you write them in musical notation or tab? Cheers again though!

ToneCapone - Hey dude. Sorry I missed you on MSN (again!) Will try and catch up with you soon! take it easy!

Olly

Master Yoda I actually agree with you. At last we are hearing some real musicians instead of manufactured shite. Some of thier stuff is not my cup of tea but respect to them for getting there.

WOOHOOO I have just ordered my tickets for the G3 in Bournemouth. It will be the first time i have seen Joe Live and I can't wait! Gone for seats, not sure if thats the right move but never mind!!

Clarky If you do go to the Bournemouth gig it would be great to catch up with you, let me know!

Oh and thanks to Chromeboy6? for letting us know they were on sale! Cheers dude.

962 - Where abouts are you sat on the terrace? Im at the front, have you been in there before? That's quite a few tickets! are you bringing along the whole family?

Guitarcake - I'm not sure whether you posted your cover of Flying In a Blue Dream? If so can I have the link again?

Guitar 'rut' status - well I had a successful practice over the weekend and I can now see some light at the end of the tunnel. It seems that I have been improving on some songs I have been learning and I have started learning a few more which is good news!

Everyone - Its getting very hard to keep reading every post now with there being about 10 pages a day, so if i have missed anything then apologies!! Have a good day!

eta- I'm 22. Apart from Satch I really like Queen they are proabably my fav band then comes Guns N Roses (old stuff only) not too keen on the whole bucket head move! Also Ozzy, both new and Sabbath days and even some Metallica. Most things guitar based suits me fine but not stuff like radiohead, really dont get along with that!!

How about you?

ToneCapone - congrats dude on the good news! Catch you soon on MSN, any news on the guitar ports?

Matt King Good to see you back! I'll give your tune an listen later, can you or anyone give me the link to it?

Went for a guitar lesson last night and quite impressed with the teacher, he seems to want to teach to allow people to learn music, not just make a quick bit of cash by writing some licks! Very cool so far, looking forward to next lesson!

Hope everyone else is cool!

962 - Hey there! yer he is in Parkstone, he is quite old but seems dedicated to actually teaching, he has taught a number of successful guitarists including someone from a band that actually hit the big time, can't remember their name though! And also Jon from Guitar Mania! So he must be good!

Guitarnut777 - I must agree with you on your comments, if it wasn't for kazaa I wouldn't know Joe, now I have bought Cd's, DVD's and last but not least concert tickets (did i mention I was going to G3?!?! Woohoo! lol) so it is a very usefuly tool if used fairly! I don't like to think that Joe is getting ripped off so don't agree fully with Kazaa but i bet it has gained him a fair few die hard fans such as you and myself!

Hope eveyone else is cool!

Thanks a lot everyone for the thanks! I'm just amazed that this site is so behind with getting info up. What is that all about then? I thought being the official Satch site we should hear about everything first but no, G3 dates appear on Steve Vai's site 2 weeks before this one and now sound clips on Sony's without any mention on this site Webmaster what is going on???? We are the biggest fans! we need to know first!

Anyhow back to the album, this one sounds so good. I think it's going to be a cracker! Can't wait!

Clarky - No worries for the ticket. It will be good to meet both yourself and Neil! it's gonna be a good day!

Got my G3 DVD and Steve Vai DVD, After watching most of Steve Vai I must say that Joe is by far my favourite of the 2. I thought the effects in erotic nightmare was really good! amazing how accurate those sounds are! but not overly impressed with the guy behind the camera on the bonus features!

Hope everyone else is cool

Hi all, That game was pretty good, I have just spent all morning completing it!! very addictive. Where did people hear about it?

I had a dream last night that i saw Joe and had a chance to ask him loads of questions! I can remember asking loads then saying 'this will be final one' but then remembering another one. Its the first time T2J has come into my dreams. I think im losing the plot!

My final question to Joe was did he ever get really stuck on guitar and as he pondered on his answer my alarm went off. DOH. so Joe if you are reading this, did you ever get into the classic guitar ruts we all know and love so much?

How is everyone else anyhow?

Hello people. Howis everyone? Good I hope!

JonRobertQuin Do you have anywhere i can here some of your music or playing? I have tried clicking your link but it says not authorised? Do you do any other work other than music?

Edit: - Got into it now!! cool

Have many people here based their chordal knowledge on the CAGED system? I have just been looking into it and it seems to be really good for learning all chords. Maybe this is the way to go on chords for me. Anyone else use this sytem or is there another way?

Bought a couple of books, Giants of Rock and Giants of Blues. Haven't delved too much into the Blues one but the Rock one is pretty cool. You get a track in the style of an artist e.g Aerosmith with a solo and a backing track! pretty cool!!! apart from the first song has a page missing from it! how annoying is that!

Hello everyone! What a lot of posts to read through!

962 - Hello mate, I just read somewhere that Joe uses a system called the buzz feinton system or something like that. Its not something i have really heard of before. meant to be better intonation and apparently something Joe uses! Hope you are well!

Megaboyd - Cool pics man! Wish I was there!

Virus Issues Anyone without antivirus click HERE for a very good free antivirus with free updates it works brilliantly!
