I'm thinking about getting into Dream Theatre but im not sure what album(s) to get, any ideas of your favourites?..........Joe Rules....... P.S i'm off to the good ol' local guitar shop tommorow to try out a Marshall mg100dfx, i like the look of this amp but sounds important right? hehe i'll give you some feeback on how it sounds, im not expecting much from the inbuilt effects but the 'fdd' switch which makes the amp sound apparently like a valve amp should be interesting........Joe Rules....

Hey guys, i went to the guitar shop today and tried out that Marshall MG100DFX and i have to say i wasn't exactly blown away... i tried it with a Ibanez JEM555 and the sounds weren't really that great, the distortion sounded kinda tinny and didn't really have that marshall crunch, im thinking about trying out some of the valve ones, like the avt series etc, has anyone had any experience with the Marshallvs100r i've always liked the look of this amp but sounds are more important of course lol, so if you've owned/tried/seen any web pages with reviews of this amp send me an email or leave a message here please......Joe Rules......

Dragonchild Take it easy dudette :) i take stress really bad too, you wouldn't think i get that much since im only 14, but school work and everything else really piles up on me, it doesn't help when your long-tearm gf finishes with you either out of the blue for no reason with a crappy little phone call, just make a nice drink and relax in a comfy chair and put 'Clouds Race Across The Sky' on :) usually works for me........Joe Rules.......

r6rocker Its half tearm i think lol, i go back to school next Tuesday, you can call me what you like! XCPX, is fine or maybe something more polite like Turd will do fine lol, ahhh ye old amp question! Hmmm i dont really know, i was talking to someone who worked in GTR guitars, (the old looking guy lol) mr johnson i think, and he said that the new Marshall AVT series are a lot better than the old Valvestate series (the vs100r that i really liked the look of) but the thing is i dont like the look of the avt's, they look really pooey and small, i've tried the avt50head and it rocked so i guess i'll try the normal avt50 and see if its as good as the head, i tried the Marshall mg100dfx the other day and i have to say i wasn't impressed at all, the distortion was really sucky and didn't have that marshall crunchy punch (lol u know what i mean), so i think i'll have a go on the avt50, and see if i like that, and if i dont then i'll hunt down a vs100r and give that a try, and if neither of them have what im looking for, then i'll start on laney's or a line6 spider etc.........Joe Rules......

Crushingday Yep its me! Im FireStrings9 :-D I've been doing some homework today on how to connect my POD to the pooter and install the sound driver software etc so at chirstmas i'll know what to do and i'll be all 'ooo mom and dad listen to this' lol I was confused about something though, i looked in the back of my computer and i have one MIDI out socket and the standard usb...is it possible to get MDI cables that have a USB output/input on them? This wil either sound like a stupid question or a good question to other people who know more about this than me but if you can help that'll be great..........Joe Rules....

r6rocker Hey man, yeah i decided to get a good old POD for chrimbo instead of that Marshall AVT50, i'll be playing through my computer quite a bit cos my amp sucks and i want to hear what the POD can do... I did ask a question a few days ago but i think it might have been overlooked so here it is again...Because i am getting the POD which is cheaper than the Marshall by about £100 i can afford to upgrade my computer to record on, im not looking to do any spectacular quality recordings and nothing fancy just adecquate, you know what i mean, i've already got Cubase VST and i think i need to buy a new Processor and definately some more hard drive space, at the moment i have a reaaaalllyyy crappy and slow Pentium2 at 350MHZ which is very slow, if someone is reading this that knows about MIDI recording (Clarky, Phrygian) what would you say an adequate processor speed would be? And im going to get some more hard disk space, maybe 30gb+ at 7200 rpm, is there anything else you could suggest that i would need? Thanks for the help guys.......Joe Rules.....
