bahumit12.very true..except i cant do the last one...

Help needed...the bit from 0:50 to about 1:32 is the one bit that keeps catching me out in AWYAWM...the tapping i cant quite do to perfection yet...and the bit of chords after it are annoying..thing is..when i play in my room..where i cant record..i play it well...when i play it and recording..i make mistakes(and i record every attempt).....any tips other than lots of practise that can help me get these tricky bits??

austin..happy birthday...(old git :P) abaout always, i dont actually think about.."i'm recording, better get this right" maybe i'm thinking it sub-consiously (however you spell it)..i've recorded quite a bit, so i'm more used to it when i recorded the current version of always...yet i still cant get it right...as you say...more practise..perhaps i'll try playing along to the actual song rather than the backing to get the song more....

get a loaf..learning vitually any dream theater song is a challenge to top all challenges...

for all you simpsons fans out there - Why Homer Simpson must be earning mega-bucks an hour...

homer has been to hospital many times - broken leg, heart surgery, april fools joke from bart marge has been to hospital with a broken leg the dog has had an operation the 3 kids are hardly in school and spend most of the day watching tv, which homer is also doing therefoe not at work. homer has cuased 3 nuclear meltdowns the house is 4 bedroom..mortage costs on it the house has been set on fire, burnt down, blown up several times and damaged in a number of ways they have 2 cars, one of which has been written off several times in accidents homer does DIY they go everywhere in the car - petrol consumption must be high homers beer habit/hobbie. seen at moes bar even during the day when he should be at work homer has spent their life savings several times the TV has been stolen/damged a number of times homer has been run over a few times and been hit on just about everypart of his body countless times and fired at with a cannonball grandpa simpson is in a home bart has sued his parents marge has no job they've been on holiday several tiems to brazil, japan, australia and possibly the uk - all of whioch would cost thousands each

so in all reality, i reckon homer - would be broke and either in jail or dead marge - in a mental institute sufering from stress bart - left home and probably dead lisa - would of ran away and probably died from not been able to survive maggie - the super baby, probably owns a mansion somewhere, or probably dead and the pets would be dead from neglect and starvation

perhaps they should rename the eurovision song contest - " a night of some 'music' and then decide who is our favourite country"

going to visit some of the accomodation in Guildford tomorow (wednesday)...and probably not online on thursday...ah well..looks like t2joe will have to survive without me for a couple of days :P

Hi all..just giot back from doing 300miles travelling to Guildford and back again, met up with Master Yoda (Neil Morgan) didn;t have time for a jam...maybe some other time.. accomodation looks good actually..even though i get a small room

clarky...first bit is A mixolydian..thats the first chorus bit, and repeated a bit higher too...then it goes into D blues for one bar and A blues for one bar.it does this for 4 bars...so D A D A F G A (one bar each) next bit of section goes E (1 bar) G (1 bar) A (2 bars) then into the Gmin section which goes Gm C Gm then F# blues for 2 bars then A# blues(thats the fast stuff i think) for 2 bars then into a Dmixo which is the run down the neck then a run up the neck ending with the chromatic run in Emixo. then it goes into the repeat of the chorus. thats what my guitar etacher came up with based on the chords.

phrydom..depends how many times you've seen satch live...new concert goers want the classics..whereas more experienced concert goers want different songs

i think some of the classics should be left in...just for old times sake..but more songs that haven't been played should be played live...or just make the setlist longer :) and another thing...the ending of songs live..they all seem the same..also how about some medleys too..and some cover songs too..all joined together in one big medley

clarly...i see what you mean about the keys and stuff and what fits with what...there is the blues scale..which i dont like...dont know why..perhaps it has 3 chromatic notes in....my guitar teacher went by the chords...so that would make it diferent to how you worked it out i suppose...

mowlie..well done uncle :)

happy 400 crispin...

help needed!!! i've restrung my guitar...an ibanez jem..with floating trem...thing is...i've buggered up the trem...i did change one string at a time..but when it came to the A and low E, the trem decided it didn't want to stay in the right position..so...after nearly all afternoon (about 2 hours) of trying to get it right, i've given up, even after speaking to a few people about it. now i'm in the situation where, if the strings are in tune, the trem bar hits the pickup selector, and if the trem is in the right place (just above the pickup selector so it doesn't hit), the strings are well out of tune by a tone or 2. altering the springs in the back didn't seem to do anything, made it worse, so i gave up on that and put them back to round about what it was before...now i dont know what to do...i've restrung the new strings with the trem in the ideal postion, then tuned it and i have the current situation...so i'm kinda buggered really..and i dont want to waste another set of strings...so what do i do now?

trutina...hmm..must be telling you something...cant think what though :P

kell...so..basically push the whammy all the way down so it touches the body..then fill the gap with cardboard..tune the strings as normal..then take the cardboard out and hopefully it will return to normal..cos that does not work...

it came with 8's on...but now i got 9's on...so that will make a difference...

quantum..i have looked at jemsite..couldn't find any problem solving section...

migupais..thanks for listening...what your saying is similiar to how i've gone about it...i do listen to the studio track...played along with it...then get the backing...try it out...rewind it a bit..try to do that section again..also trying to get the speed up as well in some parts...i wasn't expecting a standing ovation..i like criticism...its the only way to improve...i do listen to it afterwards..its also the problem of mixing afterwards..getting the 2 to line up the best i can...i record the lead on another track..then paste/mix onto the backnig...and choosing the right moment is very hard..i put my own improvisation into that song..resembles sort of satch like...but not the same as the original..which i didn't intend it to be...thanks for your help

hiram abif...i will practise some more..i will get that song eventually

kell...i've nearly sorted it now...just that the tunings not quite right and the trem is sort of in the right postion...with a bit of tweaking..hopefully i'll get there...i was preventing the trem from moving in the wrong place..i had another look at jemsite...and saw some pictures...so that cleared it up mostly...and i'm nearly there...

adrianorb....Proggesive Rock - built on clasical forms and structures, moving away from 3min verse/chorus structure single format. it often uses extended structures and shifting or unusual time sigs to create complex peices..often using modified sonata forms and the emphasis was placed on clear compostional techniue as well as on instrument virtuosity, stage shows are grand and extnded solos are the norm, as are vague and impenetrable lyrics

matt king..maybe its a passing tone...
