just listening to the clips of Joe's new album....souls of distortion should be renamed wah of distortion...and the wah sounds like someone been sick. hands in the air and up in flames sounds cool. gnaaaaahh is kinda funky. but the basic dum che..dum dum che kind of drum beat gets boring. Joe shouldn't sing imo. i like the rain sounds like lust for life by iggy pop. love in space sounds like love thing. i like the tone on if i could fly. searching..the whammy pedal bit sonds cool. may go on for a bit too long...but i haven't heard it all the song yet. bamboo..no opinin on that..not enough to go on. thats my view on Joe's new stuff anyway....

do the stu...yeah...30 seconds isn't enough to judge a song..only a taster of what the song is. so really my opinions are about those 30 seconds in a way.

pikey...finger strength excersises for your pinky is what you need...and for all of them as well if you want... try going 1,2,34,3,2,1 on each string, no picking. start slowly and play to a metronome as well at about 60bpm at quater notes, 8ths and triplets and then 16ths if your feeling brave. i dont know how far your understanding of music is, so if you dont understand..let me know. doing this excersise will strengthen your fingers and also help at speed and accuracy. you say you got the speed...but satch does use his little finger in speedy stuff...like the legato stuff in flying in a blue dream..and always..and pretty much most of his songs. ...as for the satch squealy thing. strike an artificial harmonic on an open string..G string is usally a good one..and with the left hand...grab hold of your whammy bar and go up and down and go wooh wooh wooh with your mouth to make it look either cool or stupid..depends how you look :P hope thats helped

clarky.." yo don't memories 'all keys'"....hmm..what do you mean by this? for me..i dont like scale patterns...i think they're useless apart from developing speed across the strings and such stuff. i dont use them for playing. i know the major scales of A B C D E F and G off by heart..i dont need to use scale shapes. for the rest of the scales..for example..i need Ab maj scale..i take the Amj scale and move it down a semitone making Ab Bb C Db Eb F G Ab. no need to any formula. of course i used the forumla when i was learning..but you learn stuff then you dont need it. if i was wrting as ong and it came out as a scale i'm not famaliar with such as Db lydian dominant...then i work out what notes..and mess about it in. and the 1234321 thing...i remember someone posted that excersise on JP's board..saying it came from a vinnie moore instructional video. just that it uses all 4 fingers on the same string i guess. also..by what you saying..the way i'm trying to do speed/accuracy at the moment is based from a sorta chromatic excersise taken from JP's rock disipline. i can email the excersise if you like...i've tried doing tab on here and it never worked. i might try the always at half speed too.

rg1550bcn....chris impellitteri?? are you mad?...you dont want him. he is responsible for some the worst guitar excess. no offence though :) i've seen vinnie moore and ritchie kotzen live in a masteclass sort of thing. both are really good.

itlis album covers..i dont like the album covers on Joe's stuff..they're just boring and dont say anything.

sammy andrews...E# is the same note as F and B# is the same note as C..these are called enharmonics...but as you can only use the same note name once..you have to use B# and E# in C# major as to not get C# D# F F# G# A# C C#. its to do with writing sharps and flats on the stave, as you cant have C and C# on the stave, C# is actually more commonly known as Db major, which is Db Eb F Gb Ab Bb C Db. which is alot easier to work with and write on the stave...i know i'm not clarky but i hope this has answered your question :)
