My strat is under repair right now... yup, I finally found the time to fix the trem. Fill the damaged holes with wood filler so my bridge won't pop out. hope everything turns out well...

Wahey! I finally fixed the trem on my guitar! The vintage tremolo on my strat now works like a fixed tail bridge! All stiff and hard, so nothing comes loose or out of tune! Did a setup and new strings and wham! As good as new! I also rearranged my signal chain. Fun stuff! However, I realized that the trem springs at the back of the guitar vibrates when I play. The sound travels to the pickup, (same problem with Vai's EVO!!) So, I guess I'll just do what Vai does and stuff tissue in the back cavity!
Almost the end of 2002! Hope 2003 is another great year for all of us! Cheers!

theduke2099: That spring is a trem setter. It helps keep the trem at "zero position" so tunings don't go sharp or flat after trem use. It also makes tuning a guitar easier. I like the idea of that, but I can't find the kind Steve Vai uses.
Yep, Joe and webmaster seems to be taking a very long holiday.

metfan86: Austin is right, if you are not listening to the CD version of Why, then all you can hear is a blur of each instrument. The closest thing that resembles the 'clicking' you refered to would be the wah-wah or the rain maker at the beginning of the song. Bad quality audio would make it sound weird.

On the other hand, I got the Musician's Institute catalogue in my mail today. The GIT is pretty serious stuff. Dunno if I have the chops to join it.

Stu Clone: Yes, that is THE bass. That's the one I want too! My friend has the 4 string version of it and he says it's great. With the 6 string, you can go higher AND lower! Cool.

the duke 2099: I think Joe uses 'heavy' picks, ie. 1mm. He gets picks from different companies. I don't know all of em, but here's a few: Dunlop, Planet Waves, D'addario, Ibanez... I use Ibanez H16H-JBM 1mm picks. I love em. Occationally, I will take out my metal picks for some heavier songs.
invigor: I've tried the JS100, it played quite well, so I guess the JS1000 can only be better. But nothing beats a good ol' Strat! Yep, I have a Squier Strat too! I gotta say it's THE guitar. I'm in the middle of customizing it. I've chosen all the hardware & just finished designing the circuitry. It's gonna be awesome!

Just heard on the news about the death of Maurice Gibb from the Bee Gees. Rest in peace pal.

Just had a nice play with my guitar. Oh, I lent Outbound to a friend. He was instantly hooked onto it! He's a bassist too, pretty good at it as well. Oh well, cheers.
