I had a real good vacation in Luxemburg. Had my JS CD's with me. On a warm day listening to SBM while drinking a nice cold bottle Diekirch Beer (local brewery) under a blue sky.......yeah, I had a real good vacation.

I went to some local CD shops in Luxemburg. Looked for SBM and put it in front of the stock. Two days later.......sold!!

Hope you all had a good vacation as well. (or are going to have...)

Ooops, forgot to put a voting message within the CD box !!

For Adun: Thanks man, for that Top Ten list of yours.

Very funny. LOL.

BTW -> Good idea of putting voting messages in all those CD boxes. But I was on a holiday, had no computer travelin' with me, only wife and kids. But had my ghettoblaster and some nice CD's with me.

Everybody else: Keep on rockin' in a Free World !!

To Joe: G3? => Walter Trout. A great composer (both lyrics and music) and a very good guitarist. You should listen to his interpretation of Red House or his version of Going Down; on the album Life in the Jungle. Or check out his website www.waltertrout.com.

All negative things about SBM (I've read them) well, I don't agree at all. SBM is a great album. Hear it over and over again. It doesn't bore, not even for one second. And the cover? Yes it's simple. SO WHAT. It's the music that counts. And to be honest. EOC does bore even for more than one second. (I don't like techno music at all. Even 'Iron Man' by Black Sabbath is too techno to me). Extremist then again is one of those other albums that never will bore; not even for a second.

I hate it, someone has stolen Joe's guitar. Thankfully Joe has some other guitars. So he can still make all those strange beautiful music. Never stop playing, keep on rockin' in the free world.

BTW has anyone voted yet

JS CLONE 1 It's true that the composistions of EOC are great. And performed on 'Live in SF' they sound great.

Never the less, EOC is one of those albums which reveals Joe's great way to compose and perform music. No doubt about that. But I just don't like techno....... not even from Joe.

JS Clone 1: Forget what I said about Black Sabbath, don't like that band at all. I Don't like Tommy Iommi's guitarplay or Ozzy Osborne's vocals. (I don't like it that Ian Gillan sung for Black Sabbath either).

Hello again,

PLUM LOCO: Chet Atkins and Les Paul recorded duets from the American Songbook and some other classical songs. I have some recordings of them which they recorded as "Chester & Lester" . In fact those two were some of the great pioneers for the history of guitar music. (f.i. Multi Track Recording, development of some great guitar models). Chet Atkins was known as "Mr. Guitar" and CGP (Certified Guitar Player). Though he is passed away, Chet will always be a kind of mentor to many guitarists around the world. Wether you like his music or not, you can 'hear' the pleassure of playing Chet put in his music.

Jimbojim: NOT VINNIE MOORE FOR G3 BUT WALTER TROUT FOR G3 !!!

To All Joe Satriani Fans

Thank you for voting so far in the poll. Jan Akkerman is a Dutch guitarist. In the late sixties and early seventies he got real famous with two bands. The first band was - BRAINBOX - A great band with a few of the best guitarists of that time. (Jan Akkerman and Rudy de Queljoe). A great lead singer (Kaz Lux) completed the band. The second band in which Jan Akkerman performed was named - FOCUS -. This band had some hits in the US. (Sylvia and Hocus Pocus). From 1980 untill now Jan Akkerman has played different styles of music. Rock, Jazz and classical. And he also made some albums with a mixture of that styles. (Worked together with Claus Ogerman for some classical music). Though I am from Holland (The Netherlands), I'm not a Jan Akkerman fan. But I've explored his way of making (guitar) music just as i've explored many guitarists and their styles of playing.

About the poll.. Number two means " NOT IN THE LIST". So in fact' Joe is the number two in that guitarists poll. And with the help of many Joe Satriani fans, Joe will reach number one.

Question for JOE SATRIANI Joe; In the late ninties, A great Irish guitarist has passed away during a treatment in a Hospital... Rory Gallagher. His music was administrated as 'strange music'. Does that mean that, because you've named an album - STRANGE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC - you were aware of that fact? And if you did, have you listened to some recordings of Rory Gallagher? What do you think of his kind of music (a mixture of blues and folk)?

(b.t.w. I still have good memories of the time I had the privilege to meet you after the show in Amsterdam)

Keep on Rockin'

962 The poll I refer to is not a list for the 'best' guitarist. I agree, that there is no such thing as 'the best guitarist'. And yes, the list is far from complete. But every name has done something with the history of guitarmusic. So it's not a 'best guitarists' poll. But then again, my question is not: 'is Joe Satriani the best guitarist in the world' ? All I asked is to help me out to get Joe in the first place in that poll. So there's no discussion about who should be in that list or not. Just let's get Joe on the first place in that poll.

That's all.

Major Tom

ENTER THE POLL

b.t.w Bill Lonero for G3?? Please don't. I mean if a guitarist links www.joesatriani.com to his own site....? (Try it and you'll see what I mean!). In my opinion he doesn't belong to G3.

WALTER TROUT FOR G3

STU M - Shame on you. Don Airy is not just some random guy on keyboards !! He's probably the best replacement for Jon Lord. But never the less, it's allways nice to see something or read something about Deep Purple. Check out The Highway star on the internet. All news about Deep Purple is published in that bulletin.
