JOE IS THE KING OF ALL GUITAR MUSIC... BAR NONE!!! This album rocks ALL the way through.. even Sleep Walk is really cool in a bluesy/jazzy way... listening to New Last Jam as of this moment... Man the intro of that reminds me of Rage Against the Machine, in it's flangery aceness... Joe I'll be seeing you with my Girlfirend Marie this year at the Manchester Apollo... so lets hope u have a good one... btw.. I'll be the one screaming at the top of my lungs "WHERE THE HELL's MY CHROME BOY???" hehehe.. lol

In light of my earlier post I feel the need to expand:

It might have seemed too brash to openly ask if joe had done drugs... I personnaly believe that he is too intelligent and too big a family man to do such a thing

A question arose on jemsite.com about Joe's health (at which point I noted that Steve Vai will be young forever -watch this space-)

It was asked whether there was the possiblity that he did drugs during the 80's to which I and several others said was probably a load of rubbish...

If anyone feels the need to reply could you email me your thoughts?? cheers

I finally get my GCSE results back today (high school terminal exams in the UK) i need 4 b's to get into college and I was predicted A's/B's for them so here's hoping...

hhmm perhaps more time revising and less time practicing guitar could have helped...

NAH!!! :D

oh well, wish me luck..

Matt Selph:

That could be caused by blunt knife-edges... those are the little rectangular bits of metal on either side of the trem... the have those little post things that they pivot on... If your knife edges or blunt... or more commonly, just one side is, it could mean you have to replace the whole thing... get it into a guitar repair shop and get them to check it out... if they say it needs replacing, get em to stick an Ibanez Edge/lo-pro edge trem in instead, as on the 470's its the lo-trs trem which is made out of di-cast parts as opposed to milled parts...

If you want to check the knife edges yourself, email me and Ill guide ya thru the process... its quite simple really :D

Listen to this guy's music:

He likes to go by the nic Frozen and he's an extremely exciting musician that is as of this moment someone who I am gonna try and keep up-to-date on...

http://www.kolumbus.fi/sami.viitasalo/frozen/neon lights.mp3

on another note... my band is currently at the number one spot in our local battle of the bands after the first heat!!!

Mike: Wouldnt the JS2000 with a Lo-Pro be a JS1000 in Champagne Gold??? :D I agree on the JS1000 and there are three nice finnishes to choose from

White Black And transparent blue (I have one of these)

cheers

Not been on here for a long time, so I thought I'd let you all know where Im at musically at the moment, this is my portfollio taken from my local music scene's website.

I figured that it might be a good idea to put all of the portfollio (thus far) together in one place on Prestone for the ease of use for all the fret-wankery lovers out there*.

so here goes

Computer Game/Radio stuff:

Kamikaze Nuns (The Return) When Dawn Comes

General:

Other Peoples stuff:

I'll keep adding stuff here methinks.

"Kev in using his brain shocker" I know... I was suprised as well.

Teach Me Guitar:

When I first started out, I always tried to learn the most difficult thing that I could possibly find. It usually sounded completely terrible, but it helps you to find your flaws and develop your technique. I think a lot of people try to put too much emphasis on being a blisteringly fast guitar player and miss the whole point of learning an instrument; to express yourself.

Take the time to sit down with a piece, and really work on it. I spent about 6 months working on Satch Boogie, (for a topical example ;)) and by the end, I could get a pretty good sound. As well as this, try and bring your own approach to your playing... It's all too easy to try and imitate a famous guitarist and end up sounding like a replica Satriani/Vai/Clapton etc.

It takes a damn lot of time to get good at the guitar, and even longer to get great at the guitar. Quite a lot of the getting great part is having the confidence to say "F*ck yeah! I'm a great guitarist!". If you can get a hang of that (but don't over-use it and try to avoid saying it too often in public :-D)

I think what makes a guitarist truly great, is their own unique sound (the same with all musicians in essence) because of this, it's really important to try and develop your ear. Try to avoid using TAB as far as possible and work instead on learning the nuances of a song and it's emotional context... My dad used to say to me:

"You play with your ears son, not with your eyes"

Hope this helps man. Take it easy.
