Narface : Yeah, been there a couple of time... talking about a crazy place ... well, it's in Shibuya... (people that went there will know what I mean by that)

ESP got a whole building with only guitar goods in Ochanomizu, THE area for guitar/instruments in Tokyo. That's where I usually go for my guitar shopping. It's like 2 stations away from tokyo on the chuo line (orange line)...

Well, for me "Oriental Melody" implies "Arabian Night"... The "Orient"starts from the middle east and goes all the way to south east asia. But that's just me and my geography...

errr, I gotta go back to my ship things ...

You're right Evan. Joe takes on his time to even read the whole thing, there's so many messages, how can he possibly answer them all ? Just keep asking your question once in a while and Joe will answer it. Just keep in mind that he does it just for us.

Joe : Eight Steps is nice but did you hear the final mix, near the ends it fades out and fades in again for 10secs, then fades out again... apparently it's not a defect, the sound doesn't completely fades out, I check a few other cds and same result. anyways, hope you took the time to relax, tks for being on the road for us... maybe the rumors of you coming to japan in october will turn out to be true.

cheers

jblaze : do you mean the ad-lib keyboard/bass thing at the end of the track ? maybe they cut it on the tape to save space... but it's definitely not backwards.

but for Eight Steps it is very different... the music doesn't stop in the fade... u can still hear Joe and the band playing in-between the fade-out fade-in.

Oh, so you KNOW, wow, you sound pretty sure of yourself.

Even if S. Hussein is far from being an angel and a good person, he knows he has no chance if he starts something against anybody with nukes.

I don't know why people keep on thinking that WW 3 is going to be nuclear. IT simply can't, and won't. full stop.

nuclear power is about fear, not action. Once people really understand that, maybe we will find solutions that actually work.

as you said : "sorry for getting political", but I majored in economics/politics, so i think i can throw in my 20 yens of knowledge.

cheers.

Oh, please don't make it sound like you're the ever oppressed victims !!!

what happened last year was a disaster, no question. it was horrible.

but they attacked the symbol of the occidental culture, not ONLY you americans ! their action was more about destabilizing occidentals. The fact that USA represents somehow the peak of that culture and that they chose USA as their target doesn't mean they don't want to hit other countries ...

Sorry that you were the chosen targets, but please don't generalize and be paranoid !!! Heck, you NEVER had a worldwide war on YOUR territory.

Scalloped fretboard allows very light touch , almost no effort to make a note ring clean. But it makes it a lot harder for bends and power chords. Barre chords are usually easier to lay down with that kind of fretboard though.

21 frets is the standard stratocaster board, and mister Malmsteen says he likes the standard thing. anyways he puts some very light gauge strings in the highs, and 46's in the bottom AFAIR, and the tremolo sits only with 2 springs placed in arrow shape, which makes bending as easy as putting ur finger in butter.

Yngwie, well, I could go on and on about how I think he has *some* cool stuff but he thinks he's the best and that makes him suck...

If he didn't have such huge ego, he would probably be a very nice person to work with, but he had a tough life (seriously) and he's a hard ass with everybody because of that.

He doesn't want to listen to anything except classical music... and once an interviewer made him listen to some Joe, and his comments were "the bends are gross, the sound is awfull, it's typical of a guitar hero wannabe" ....

enough said.

Joe, I can't wait to see you again, this time in tokyo !! maybe i'll get some kind of record of who saw you on the more continents or sumtin ;)

@JS Clone 1 : well, for the 2 spring arrow setup, I like it, it bends like butter and gives me more subtle control over the bended note. Besides, that's Joe's setup as well, you know !! Already did one of my JS with that 2 springs setup, I'm seriously thinking about setting up the second the same way.

Matt King : Happy to see that my 2springs setup thing makes you so happy ...

As for the sansamp, I do recommmend it, you can get amazing sounds with it. it just that you need time to tweak it just right.
