Aaren, I agree with your view on the passes in a way, but there are also guys like me who LOVE Satch but recently started visiting the board more often. My question is where do you make the cutoff?

Silmarien: It was a pretty bad movie, but I enjoyed it because I studied in Mexico this summer and lived in the city where a lot of it was filmed...remember the steps that everything was blown up on? I went to school there...Guanajuato University. The capital building's also downtown right next to a club that we went to at least twice a week (fittingly named "El Capitolio")

Silmarien: UF has a Summer A program there. If you wanna study summer B you might have to just go try to get accepted to the University of Guanajuato. I'm pretty sure they have like month or month and a half-long programs there. Good luck either way.
OCPS470I agree that there could have been better choices but these shows are still gonna kick ass! A lot of people think that speed equates with skill, and this G3 is appealing to them. I'll enjoy this year but looking forward to next year already...Solo Joe tour coming up!

Tom D, Reflection's a good track overall but I think the repetition in the beginning is a bit overkill. I think For Katey's pretty cool. Keep up the good work!

Austin, thanks for that link...I'm gonna try out those exercises that are on the site...been working on building up some chops lately since I play more slow, melodic type stuff usually, but I'd like to be able to do at least a little bit of shredding! Gonna get into some more theory soon, too, because I know how important it is.

Neil: I'm going thru a similar situation myself...that's exactly how you gotta look at it...life goes on.
Joe: I asked this for the SBM tour and I didn't really expect it but regardless, I'm gonna try again. I'll be sitting in the front row (AA) in WPB, to your right hand side (seats 1,3). It'd mean the world to me if you'd play Love Thing, one of my favorite songs of all time, at the WPB show. If not I understand...you gotta do more show-offy type stuff, but I'd really appreciate it.

OK Problem Child (not sure if it's 1 or 2) is on TV right now, and guess what I heard during the food fight scene in the pizzeria...Boogie with Stu! Holy Shit was I excited...that was cool as hell! OK sorry I'm calm now. Just thought I'd share sinec I didn't know Satch's music had made it to movies like that. I'm sure someone's already posted this but I figured I'd do it anyway.

Austin: That must've been what happened...I'm just out of it today because I had an exam Wed, the GMAT on Thu and an exam and paper in class Friday. Then I found out that I have an exam on Friday in my Portuguese class, so I have to re-read everything since the beginning of the semester in one week. So yeah, I'm a bit out of it.
Alexandre: no problem, man...I had actually already listened to all the tracks on your IUMA and was just making a general comment that your music ROCKS!
Aaren: I checked out the 2 satch tracks and Blowout...Blowout's sweet and I especially like your version of Love Thing...it flows really nicely between parts. Keep up the good work, guys! Hopefully I'll get my recording stuff (Hoping for a GNX3 for my bday/Channukkah) sometime in the next few months and you guys will all be able to check out some of MY work for once!

Matt King: good stuff, man! I just started working on that song yesterday, but it'll take about 6 months to be able to play it like that! How do you pull off the "airplane" (to quote Lord of Karma6) effect? Keep up the good work!

OK I'm sitting here listening to some Satch while I read Portuguese (exam tomorrow and I have to read everything we've done all semester, so I had to do something to make the time pass faster) and I finally gotta say something. Damn classes get in the way of everything! I can't go to ANY of the games unless there's one on Friday because I have classes every DAMN day this week that I can't miss...I guess that's what I get for sleeping in. Go YANKS! What's nice is that my roommate, who's a Red Sux fan, was talking trash all day and all I said when he got home was "Go Yanks. End of story, end of conversation" and he hasn't spoken the rest of the night lol

wizardof7: I like playing along with the song as well, but IMO it's better for me to not have the lead to play along with when I'm first learning it because I end up using it as a sort of crutch. I'd rather be able to play it myself and THEN play along with it. I understand your point tho. I just don't see why I shouldn't use the resources if they're available.

That fretboard fairy has been staying in my room lately...I've had breakthrough upon breakthrough lately. It seems like every time I play I figure out something else...then again I've only been playing about 3 years lol. Now the cash fairy just needs to visit so I can get that GNX3 I've been wanting!
