Thanks for the happy 200's guys! Didn't even know I was that high up...cool.
Michelle: I know absolutely nothing about basses haha Sorry I can't really help ya with any info. I just saw that one in an email I got and remembered that you were looking for one. See you guys on Sunday...I'm still in Mexico Beach til then. Hopefully we'll hear some good news about Bil by then.

Austin: Then what if you DO have 24 frets? haha
GODGUNSNGUITARS: I dunno if it's true or not but I've heard that those types of exercises can build towards arthritis. Any thoughts on this?

Great to hear Bil's awake! Miranda, go get some well deserved rest!
If anyone's interested in Mad and Cracked magazines check out the for sale items for UF_Dean_Player. I have a lot of 10 Cracked and another of 55 Mad magazines. Sorry if you consider this spam, but it's guitar related since I'm using the money to get one of my used ones painted ;-)

Jon: Great job on the new look! I like the interface much better than the links just being at the home page!
Joe/Alexandre/Clarky: Can't wait for the new CD(s)

Aaren Mowlie: Good to see you man! Damn, you must be keeping yourself busy lately...any new music I can listen to? All your stuff from a few months ago was pretty damn good...waiting on some more!
Austin: ahhh how I miss the dorms...used to be my favorite thing to do...just sit by the pool and have a nice rum n coke (hidden in a covered cup of course) in the middle of a hot day.
Prez: realistically, it all depends on how many and which classes you choose to take each semester. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd have plenty of free time to play, but I tend to sleep instead. Then again I DO have a BAD case of senioritis.
Congrats to ToneCapone!
Good luck to DCK and hope Juju's feeling better!

Clarky: congrats on the chart-topping. You deserve it bro!
Mikesan: damn, dude...you change names more often than I buy new guitars lately haha
Stu Clone: same here. My friend Cory was the one who got me into playing. He had been messing around on the guitar for about 6 months before I even got one, and it was another 6 months before I started to actually even pick the thing up. He came over to visit one day while I was home on break and he thought that I had found a live version of Santeria but it was me playing and singing with my acoustic.
Gnaaaaaaaaaaahh!

I, too, started out listening to Joe by downloading a bunch of his stuff. I have since bought all but Dreaming #11 and I also bought LISF and both G3 DVD's and the current G3 CD. If you like the song, buy the album. if not, delete it. In that respect, I say it's ok to download. On the other hand, I had 2000 songs on my computer at one point, so I know both the right and wrong sides of the spectrum. I just saw it as that I wouldn't have bought the CD's anyway so who cares. Then I realized how wrong it really is and deleted all but about 50 songs. With those I had owned the CD's at one point anyway so I see it as that I already paid for it so technically I already own the music.
I was considering downloading just one or 2 songs on the new album when I heard that it had been leaked, but needless to say, I was planning to buy it the day it comes out anyway. Since I haven't found any clips anywhere yet, I figure that's ok as long as I delete them right after listening.

JuJu: Great to see that I'm not the only Kevin Smith fan on T2J!
GGnG: I think it's a great idea and the way that you've described it makes perfect sense to me. I had just heard rumors that's all. That open chords with just the 3 fingers is a great idea. Wish someone had taught me that because I can't play what would be a C if it was open with those fingers. Come to think of it I couldn't play a D or G either haha

Just don't forget to keep in mind that chances are, even if they have the same amp/fx chain set up in the store as you have in your home, it's not gonna be the same once you get the guitar home, so I tend to go based on the feel of the guitar and how it sounds unplugged more than plugged. The acoustics of a big store and of your home are usually just completely different. Now if you're a super-distortion monster, you problably won't have to worry about that much. Just set the gain at 11 and enjoy!

J_BOSS: you might wana check out the new Dean Hardtails made in Korea. I have 2 of the US models and they're my favorite guitars. I recently went to the factory and played the MIK's and they're 90% as good for only 600 bucks as opposed to the 1700 and 1200 that I payed for the 2 of mine.
Regarding Michael Angelo Batio: the man is a monster. The friday night of DOA3 I saw him (about 2 weeks ago) in person and he's just ridiculous. He actually gave me a nice quick little sweeping lesson on Saturday because he came to the factory as well.

Mystical Potato: Well, I'm too slow to really get anywhere with sweeping. It's one of 2 big things I'm working on right now. It did help me to understand how much is involved with it thought. Yeah...DOA (Dean Owners of America) meets every year in Clearwater, FL for a big weekend-long party. Friday night there's a party in a place called Kapoc Pavillion, which is a beautiful building that looks like you're inside the nice part of the Titanic. One of the guys from the factory (Pat Baker) has a band called Anita Brunette, who plays every year, then Michael Angelo got up there with the doubleneck, and then a bunch of the guys from the group got up and played. Since there's an open bar, a lot of them were not very good haha. Then Saturday we go to the Dean factory and get to ogle the guitars. It was a massive droolfest for most of us, and we also got to see some new prototypes. Of course there's a dealer on hand, so we have the option to buy the guitars before hardware's even put on...as a matter of fact 3 people picked out individual pieces of wood to have guitars made out of. Each year (starting last year), a DOA guitar is produced, 50 at a time. This year it was an ML (the one Dimebag used to play) in Tigereye quilt with gold hardware. Badass to say the least. Michael Angelo was there for a few hours on Saturday as well, and since my girlfriend and I and one of the other members were the last ones there, we got to speak privately with Dean, Elliott, and Michael. For such a freakish talent, he's one of the nicest guys I've met. All this (other than the guitars) is paid for by Elliott (owner of the company) and Dean Z. It's always a great time.
J_BOSS: oh that's a different story. Well, for under 500 bucks you can get one of their Custom 450's or the new Vendetta line which will be out in the next few months. Good luck in your search!

J_BOSS: The Custom 450 has a trem on it. I do OK without one, but can't play a lot of Satch and Vai's stuff perfectly because I have to slide down and back instead of using one. If it ain't Dean I don't really know much about it...IMO you're getting a great guitar for less cash from them, so the $ range is not part of my decision usually. You can't go wrong with a nice Fender Strat, but I've honestly always wanted a JEM and I'd definitely suggest you take a look at one of those.

Mikey Vai: ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? 1000 bucks for a refin??? What kind of finish is on that thing? I'm getting my Mach V refinished by the factory for only $150...a grand's a bit ridiculous.
Austin...DAMN there were a few really tough ones this round!
JS_JS: it depends on what coursework you choose. I'm majoring in Spanish and minoring in Portuguese and business, and it's not too bad for me, but I have friends who are majoring in Chemistry and microbiology and stuff like that killing themselves with work. It is what you make it. I'm just glad I only have 20 days of class left!
LMAO at Bil's recent discovery...I recently discovered that it really isn't a good idea to do all my papers the day they're due, although I probably won't change until grad school.

Bil: I'll be finishing up undergrad this semester. I'm trying to find a management-type job this summer/fall because I'd like to open a guitar store when I retire (planning to do so at 45 or so), but after law school I want to practice corporate law (working for pepsi or something) and real estate law (working for myself). I want to get a real estate license so that I can just buy, fix and sell properties with only the help of a contractor. This is all on the side of the corporate job, though.

962:ahhh...that's a decent explanation. I still think that's ridiculous to charge that much but at least now I know why. My $150 price tag was also because Dean Zelinsky was the one who gave it to me...for most people I'm sure they wouldn't even offer it. Oh well.

Joeman9: no, I didn't forget, but apparently everyone else did. I'm considering scrapping it sometime soon if it doesn't pick up...not worth keeping it up if it's not being used. There's no real important info on there, so I won't feel too bad just dropping it unless it picks up soon. http://alanssd.com/phpBB2
