jelly, i appreciate your comments towards the tone actually...it was one i was kinda iffy on, and i decided to just go with it. i rolled the gain back a great amount, try to keep that cleaner sound to the track...it worked in some spots, but sometimes might have been too weak!

juju...thanks!!! :)

flash...ultimately it really depends on the sound/player you are. i used to have a marshall 6100 30th anniversary that i actually ended up selling cause it just wasn't doing what i wanted. i now acutally use a tiny marshall mg15dfx....a tiny practice amp that i stick a shure sm57 in front of and i have absolutely no complaints at all...in fact, i think this thing cranks out some of the best tone ever...all a matter of opinion though.

chase...absolutely the shure SM57 makes a difference...as does the positioning of the mic. i'm pretty cut and dry though...i keep the EQ pretty flat on the amp...and the mic pretty close, straight on to the tiny speaker. i do a lot of eq'ing after the fact though...i record everything dry as well. no effects...

flah, i disagree...and i think joe made a poor choice with peavey...too tinny of a sound for my taste. if you want pure tube sound, go with bogner...but be prepared to pay and arm and a leg for it....

also...combos and smaller type amps are always better in most cases for a recorded sound...no need to have the power of a full tube amp unless you're really going for that tube warmth...these days technology makes it pretty hard to tell the difference though...

steveeee t...shoot me an email in a few days, we'll touch base about meeting up.

VFRocker...offended? not in any way, i took an extended break away from the site...and music in general, just cause i really needed on. i wasn't pleased with the way i was performing on my instrument...so i took some more practice time...

"ahh...fresh page!!!" i miss those days...

i'm waitin to see a "vote for so-and-so for the interview" war to start here soon! lol you know how ppl tend to fall in love with bold/caps lock'ed text :)

oh, and michelle...i second that. but at the same time, i kinda understand that it might be a tiny group of people who all can't talk to eachother any other way besides posting here. there has to be some kind of fix for it though, cause i agree...reason i don't post much these days is cause there is so much to read through, hard to keep up. a lot of it being one liners between people, back and forth...though, i suppose that is why the chat room was indeed created if i'm not mistaken? to minimize conversation on t2j, makes it easier for joe to read through too! don't get me wrong, the site traffic and booming community is awsome, but it does get a little over done with the posting...maybe try the chat a bit more? just a though!

deathcube...i'll probably send chris peters a finished copy of my song over the next few days, so if you could mark me down, i'd appreciate it! song is complete, just doing the final mixes/masters.

clarky...how the hell you been? i never see ya on AIM any more...hit me up.

Marimari...i popped you mail not too long ago, all going well? Don't think i heard back from ya...

oh...and g3 live in denver...wtf is up with joe's tone? the jsx on "is there love in space?" sounded wayyyy different from the live tone on the g3 dvd...sounded like he had the wah pedal on the entire time. worked for starry night for the most part, until the end...to be honest, i wasn't impressed with the jsx amp myself when i tried it out. i never got a chance to pump up the volume though, so perhaps i'll give it another swing.

alright...back to writing more music for me...god it feels good to be back in the ol' swing of things! later...

For those who were interested in my track for the t2j project:

since mark london had a problem with me streaming my song over the net, accusing it of a possible breach of a contract (which i never recieved), i will be offering the song free to download, with a direct link to the red cross where you will be able to donate any amount of money you feel you can donate. The project in my opinion has gone in a completely sour direction, with "spies" and egos. I do still however wish to support the sales of the T2j project and will promote it any way i can for the benifit of charity...

no need for any response to this mesage.
