I'm new to this message board, so sorry if this has been brought up before.

A friend and I went to go see Joe at the Sun Theater in Anahiem, California, last year. The sound was HORRIBLE!!! We both went to the soundboard, and they claimed that Joe himself listened to it during the sound check, and said that is how he wanted it. So we got the manager, and he checked backstage, and said the exact same thing. They said they would not fix anything, because Joe himself supposedly said he wanted it that way.

Both the guys at the soundboard and the manager said that there were many other people complaining about the sound also, and everyone around us that we asked agreed that it was very bad and annoying.

We will not see Joe live again if this is how the sound will be. I'm hoping to receive an explanation as to why this happened, and if it's the norm at most of his concerts now.

- Tom

trutina, satchblues, & anyone else interested in iTunes: iTunes downloads can be unprotected in a better way than what you described, satchblues. The way you described uncompresses the files, then compresses them again. The first time they were compressed, certain information was discarded from them to make them smaller. When you compress them again, the info that was originally there to be discarded is no longer there, therefore, good information, information that we can hear is now discarded in order to compress it this time. If you listen to the original files, then to the recompressed ones you made from the cd you burned, you will hear a difference in sound quality.

Go here http://www.noyou.net/itunes/ to see how to do the same thing without losing quality.
