It was a very good cd - great melody. I am not the musician, so I cannot comment on how it was put together, but as a fan of musicians, I really enjoyed his work.

But - do not put into iTunes - it will really throw you.

I think Clockys will catch on.

From what I have seen so far on T2J - there are at least 2-3 takers.

Velvet Revolver's Slash Named Best Guitarist By 'Esquire'

Velvet Revolver lead guitarist Slash has won Esquire magazine's 2005 Esky Music Award for Best Guitarist, according to Blabbermouth.net.

Slash accepted the award with a statement in which he said, "This is my first guitarist award ever. It's very humbling. I'd like to thank my parents, and I'd also like to thank everyone I've ever f--king worked with in the music business from the point I started at up until now -- the bands I've been in, the sessions I've done, and the artists I've worked with. My wife is at least half of the reason I'm still walking. I'd also like to thank Robert Wolin; he got me to switch from bass to guitar. Thank you."

Dream Theater Eyeing June for New Album

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Rock act Dream Theater will release its next album, "Octavarium," June 7 via Atlantic Records.

"We wrote it and recorded it at the Hit Factory, which is now closed -- we were the last session in that studio," guitarist John Petrucci tells Billboard.com.

Asked how "Octavarium" differs from its predecessor, "Train of Thought," Petrucci says, "The album before this we wrote in the rehearsal period, constructed all the songs and then went into the studio and recorded them.

"The style from song to song was pretty consistent; that album was pretty dark and heavy and very riffy, sort of metal progressive metal-sounding. This one we wrote in the studio, and I think that stylistically from song to song it's more diverse."

Dream Theater plans to resume touring in June by playing the summer metal festival circuit in Europe. However, Petrucci will be on the road prior to that, as he is returning to the G3 tour in May to play dates in Japan with guitarists Joe Satriani (news) and Steve Vai (news).

Petrucci's 2001 tenure with G3 helped generate material for his first solo album, "Suspended Animation," which he released March 1 via his own Sound Mind label.

"I wrote material to be able to do that tour, and then of course, people were asking, 'Where can I hear this stuff?' I didn't have it out, so, 'All right, I'll make a solo album,"' he recalls.

The instrumental, eight-song set features four tunes Petrucci wrote for G3: "Jaws of Life," "Glasgow Kiss," "Damage Control" and "Lost Without You."

Petrucci says he's very excited about the project, which he recorded in a trio setting. He thinks people will likely hear elements of Dream Theater, but "there are more styles on it -- blues, rock, progressive stuff -- and there's a lot more improvising and soloing."

Among other recent side projects from Dream Theater's members are vocalist James LaBrie's solo album, "Elements of Pursuasion," due April 5 on Inside Out Music America.

That label also released keyboardist Jordan Rudess' solo project "Rhythm of Time" and "Jelly Jam 2," the second album from bassist John Myung's side band Jelly Jam.

Thanks for relating the story of meeting Joe - I am very happy for you. Your painting (both the complete and the draft) looked great.

When I met Joe at a local music store, very similar situation to yours - he, his people and the music store were all very nice / helpful / kind.

I just did not want to monopolize his time - so I took pictures of some people I met in line with Joe and they did the same of me and Joe. Also the music store had their own photographer who posted all the pictures on their web site.

Signs You Have March Madness

5> You call it a "backcourt violation," but your wife calls it perverted.

4> You just voted to give the federal courts jurisdiction to reinsert Wake Forest into the tournament.

3> Huge tattoos of John Philip Sousa on both ass cheeks.

2> Before climbing to the top of the clock tower, you festively paint the bullets in the team colors.

and the Number 1 Sign You Have March Madness...

1> Wanting to stay home and watch the games all day Thursday and Friday, but not wanting to tell your boss a lie about a death in the family, you're faced with a dilemma: which grandparent to murder.

Court Rejects Schiavo Parents' Request

ATLANTA (AP) - For the second time in less than a day, a federal appeals court Wednesday rejected a bid by Terri Schiavo's parents to have her feeding tube re-inserted. Florida lawmakers, meanwhile, debated another last-ditch effort to prolong her life.

In a 10-2 decision, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals (news - web sites) refused Bob and Mary Schindler's request for an "expedited rehearing" by the full court. A three-judge panel from the same court ruled against the family earlier Wednesday.

The full court did not immediately give an explanation for its decision. The parents have vowed to take their fight to the U.S. Supreme Court (news - web sites), which has refused to get involved previously.

Lemmy's Solo Album

Motorhead is currently on a North American tour that will continue until May. They're on the road with thrash metal band Corrosion of Conformity. Motorhead frontman Lemmy says that he's pleased to have C.O.C. on tour with them because, "they give our audience what our audience likes to hear."

Lemmy is currently working on a solo album, and he says he's got seven tracks completed and he has five more to go. When asked when the album might come out, he told us, "By the end of this year, maybe, but maybe not."

This year marks Motorhead's 30th anniversary, and the band is planning to commemorate the milestone with a concert at London's Hammersmith Odeon in June. Lemmy says that the female metal group Girlschool will also be on the bill. He says the rest of the lineup is still tentative, although he'd like British metal band Saxon to be on the line-up.

Flashlight

Nine Inch Nails are not quite choir, but more like the Mamas and the Papas.

:)

Just saw a show on them, which is why I thought of them - they were popular for 2 1/2 years in the 60s.

Joe Perry's project sounds neat - but won't get it until I hear a few tracks or parts of the tracks. If they sound good/interesting - I am there.

As for Whitney - it is sad. Something is clearly wrong.

Supreme Court Rejects Terri Schiavo Case

(AP) - The U.S. Supreme Court turned down Terri Schiavo's parents Thursday, declining to intervene to keep the brain-damaged woman alive, but their supporters pressed a last-ditch effort in Florida courts. Justices didn't explain their decision, which was received by somber supporters outside the woman's hospice with bowed heads and prayers for help from Gov. Jeb Bush. "The governor is disappointed (at the Supreme Court decision) and will continue to do whatever he can within the law to save Terri's life," Bush spokesman Jacob DiPietre said.

You Want Fingers with That?

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A diner at a Wendy's fast food restaurant in San Jose, California, found a human finger in a bowl of chili prepared by the chain, local officials said on Wednesday.

"This individual apparently did take a spoonful, did have a finger in their mouth and then, you know, spit it out and recognized it," said Ben Gale, director of the department of environmental health for Santa Clara County. "Then they had some kind of emotional reaction and vomited."

Local officials launched an investigation after the incident on Tuesday night and the medical examiner determined on Wednesday that the object was a human finger.

Officials are trying to determine if the finger came in the raw materials Wendy's used to prepare the chili, Gale said.

Wendy's International Inc. corporate office did not immediately return a call for comment. Wendy's is the third-largest hamburger chain.
