...wow! what a great tour!...thanks to each and every european fan for making our first leg of the strange beautiful tour such a great success...huge thanks to our crew for doing an amazing job, always!...it's hard to believe i'm back sitting at home chillin' after such a rush...we've got more photos to post, just give us a few days to sort them out...my thoughts on the tour are still jumbled from the jet lag, but, what sticks in my head is how well the band played in its new incarnation, and what a good idea it was for me to wear my guitar a little higher so i could play a little better!...and everybody's talkin' about my pants and jacket, that's funny...yes, no harmonizer on "mind storm"...but i used one on "why"...more from me later...joe......

...I was hanging out with Dio, The Scorpions and Deep Purple last night in Reno, what a rockin' show! Each band was in amazing form...At the end of the night the Purple guys invited me onstage for a few songs...We jammed on Hush, Highway Star and Smoke on the Water...I had to play one of Steve Morse's guitars, they feel great and are very cool sounding. We each had a 5150 to blast through...What a rush!... Had a great time connecting with old friends, and a fantastic Reno audience...Wait a minute, I'm supposed to be on vacation!...check out the photos on the Road page...Joe....

...Pearly is still stolen...my throat is slowly recovering...but I'm still mad at the stunt the Tabernacle and Winston pulled on us in Atlanta, not allowing the under 21 fans in so they could give out free ciggies in the lobby, that sucked! ...I found out about it on the ride over to the show about 30 minutes before my performance. I insisted on meeting the fans that were segregated to try and explain what I could and offer picks and autographs and photos. When I left the stage at the end of the show I went straight back to them to say thanks and sorry again. I can assure you we will never let Winston or any other tobacco company pull that one on us again...Joe...

...Just flew in from Hong Kong, jet lagged like nothin' else! There's not enough coffee and green tea in this world to keep me awake any longer! But I wanted to thank all our fans in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong for making our Strange Beautiful Asian Tour so much fun. Special thanks go out to Mr. Udo and Aki, Space, DJ Richard Walker, Mr. Sha and family, and all our friends at Epic/Sony Music for taking care of us so well...Hey Narface, see you next time!....Now I've got to get some sleep...Joe

PhryDom, those chords are coming from the Supernova keyboard. I didn't want them to sound too close to the tembre of the clean melody guitar, so I asked Eric to perform the rhythm on the keyboard. It gave the track more space...Joe...

Ken Brown, so sorry to see that post...You're so right when you say, "Appreciate all that life has to offer. Be kind to your loved ones and cherish every moment with family and friends. Our time here is so short anyway, make the most of the time you have left......" I'm with you on that....Joe...

Jay Munger, on the track "Flying..." I was using a JS1000 prototype Ibanez guitar into a Boss DS-1, into a Boogie MK2 head, into a 4x12 Boogie speaker bottom. "Crystal Planet" was a JS1000 into a Whammy pedal, a Fulltone Ultimate Octave pedal, into a Peavey 5150, into a Marshall 4x12 bottom. Both setups were using a Shure 57 mic....I hope that answers your questiion...Joe

EyesOfFire0221, don't despair, things like that happen in rock'n'roll as a matter of course... Look at it this way, now you have more time to add some extra stuff to your eventual performance. I know it will all work out for the best...Joe

...yeah, that chat was a little strange...I was in a backstage room only seeing questions forwarded to me at an incredibly slow pace. When I went to the other rooms myself it was a total barrage of chat and instant messaging that left me no choice but to log off and go play my guitar!...But, hey, it was fun anyway...Thanks to all our fans for a great run of shows...now a little rest and off we go to Mexico and beyond...Joe...
