woldeface, don't fret!...check out the other guitar players on T2J, they rock! ...and they're doing it their own way, on their own terms, working with what they've got....I know it's hard when you don't know many people close by to hang with who think the same way you do, but, we are here! So, get started, post it and let us know where to check it out. Your friends on T2J will tell you exactly what we think, which is a good thing...Joe

...Here are the top fourteen most requested songs from our G3 setlist poll as of today:
ALWAYS WITH ME, ALWAYS WITH YOU,
FLYING IN A BLUE DREAM,
SURFING WITH THE ALIEN,
SUMMER SONG,
SATCH BOOGIE,
COOL #9,
CRYSTAL PLANET,
BORG SEX,
EXTREMIST,
CIRCLES,
UNTIL WE SAY GOODBYE,
DEVIL'S SLIDE,
FRIENDS,
ICE 9,
...We only have time for 9 to 10 songs, or less if we jam out a bit. Arranging the set with respect to tempos and grooves is very important to the flow of the set as well, and we want to keep it rockin'. So, now some of you can see what the majority of the fans are asking for. But, we will be mixing it up as we go along because like some of you we like to play a few lesser known songs now and then.
The Las Vegas jam was great last night, it went off without a hitch, and we were able to play all four songs, stretching them out as we jammed along.
Once again, many thanks to the fans for making it a great night!
Joe

Climbers Flash/Diana, good to see you posting. We use the fans' set list almost to the song, so, you do have an effect on what we play... MegaMan, aka MegaBoyd, always a great show when you're there...sorry about your car...More on the shows... A G3 tour is a work in progress, and each performer is always changing their sets in small ways, every night, in the hopes of making a better show for all. Each night it gets better and better, while we're having fun figuring out how to jam with each other. As we get closer to our DVD filming in Denver, we will be trying a few new ideas. It has always been the clash of styles that makes the G3 thing really work, and right now Steve, Yngwie and I are having the time of our lives playing for all of you. Thanks for being there for us...Joe

FromZero3, The Peavey amps I am using are JS/Peavey prototypes. We are using the XXX amp enclosures temporarily. My signature amp will be ready for the January 2004 NAMM show in L.A.. I think me and the boys will be on hand to give it a proper unveiling party. More news to come...Tonight's the last G3 show...wow, that was fast....so many notes, so little time!...more on that later too...

Happy New Year!!! It's the Year of the Monkey too! ...After a short but cool break with a bit of Sierra snowboarding, we're back in the studio mixing a new solo project slated for an April release. The live G3 stuff will be authored this month for a Febuary release...The NAMM show in January will see the release of my new signature amp with Peavey, the "JSX", it's a screamer! And, a new Ibanez JS model, red body and headstock, with a newly designed DiMarzio neck pickup, "PAF JOE", to better match the Fred. ... We are exploring the idea of a European G3 tour in early summer, more on that as details emerge...Joe...

...Culox, it's always hard to lose someone, hang in there...everybody else please chill...I have no use for the tremblot or anything like it. I do think Z.Smart has a cool invention there for those who like having things like that on their guitar... that about does it on that one...I own guitars made from all kinds of wood; balsa, mahogany, rosewood, ash, swmpash, alder, maple, basswood...they all work great for the tone they produce...you just have to know what you want out of it...soon this site will have new look based on the new CD "Is There Love in Space?", thanks for your patience...Joe

mr.smart, I only had the best of intentions, and we all hope you have success with your product. However, now you are pushing it. If you've got something to say to me and Steve regarding your product then write us a letter and stop whining in public looking for sympathy. If you can remember the night you gave me the unit to try, I told you I didn't have a real need for it, but would consider it over the course of my tour and studio sessions. I did, made up my mind and returned it to you instead of sending it to Ibanez for consideration as I offered. No one is holding you back, quite the opposite. Good luck and good bye...Joe

do the stu, yes, I've worked with all of them...I have no middle name... the dvd/cd configuration is entirely the brainchild of Sony, it baffles me as well, but I'm still very happy they filmed, recorded and released what they did...It would be great to have all the G3's on film...Joe

Loo Who, yeah what's up with the no mac friendly vibe with my sound clips??? When Master Luini returns we will correct the situation... We thought Sony was going to wait with the sound clips, but I guess not! I just signed a thousand or two "Is There Love In Space?" CD sleeves, thank God for Sharpies...Just finished having a party, missed the R&R Hall of Fame thing, but my thoughts: Prince=genius, Billy Gibbons=genius, that goes for ZZTop, Steve Winwood and Jackson Brown too...Who else was inducted?...But, my favorite tv show right now is MXC-Most Extreme Elimination Challenge on Spike...too much! I'm leaving for Moscow, Frankfurt, London and Paris on Friday, just a little press with two performances mixed in. Anybody going to the Musik Mesa in Frankfurt???

Euro G3 fans, what would you like us to play this summer? I guess that question can go for the US fans too since we will be by your way as well, with Deep Purple..."If I could Fly" does indeed start off with a first position G maj 7 to an F# min 7 add 11, twice, then rmodulates to a B major with added 4th(first string). The chorus is: E min 7, A maj, D maj 9, B min. Same thing for the first solo over verse section, except I hold off on the B maj until the end. The last verse is: G sus2, A maj, D/F# repeated, and then on to the tag solo with the same chords. Cherry Lane will carry the book out soon...Thanks to all the fans who came out to the clinics, you guys are the best there is!...Joe
