counting the days and saving enough paycheck for IS THERE LOVE IN SPACE... I'm very excited to hear the new genius work. Hey Joe, have you ever tried your rig with an Ibanez TS-9 as opposed to your usual DS-1's?

I can't wait to check out the new cd, it can't come soon enough. Soundclips usually don't do your songs justice I've noticed, so the fact that these ones really caught my ear for the most part makes me that much more excited to hear it in its entirety. Can't wait till you swing by my neck of the woods again on a solo tour. Hope all is well.

Joe, although we've heard all about your guitar playing influences, as an apt songwriter, were you ever influenced by the Beatles or has that ever made its way into your songwriting? Just curious...

I just read a fantastic review of the new JSX amp in guitar player, which makes me really want to try it out. Oh, and I'd totally buy one, too, but I don't even have a hundred bucks to blow on an amp right now let alone a thou. Someday...

i haven't really read what other people have written about the new disc yet, but i picked it up today and got to listen to a little bit at work (wasn't exactly an environment conducive to critical listening) but now i'm at home and i have popped the disc in for some good thorough listens! So far I like the cool weirdness of Gnaahh (i like weird rock), up in flames is really great, makes me bob my head, and I am really enjoying hands in the air, cool 7 string riff and i love that chorus with the bar of 3 in there... looking forward to the rest of the CD! Thanks for consistently putting out new material for us to listen to, joe. Always trying to push boundaries and i really respect that.

just putting my two cents in, it is yet another successful outing from joe satriani. i agree with mak when he said this is the best album since CP and i also really enjoyed eoc and sbm. Overall ITLIS is very solid and enjoyable with more great songwriting, killer grooves, and of course, virtuosic guitar playing. One or two songs will have to grow on me, but not only has that happened with EVERY satch album, i wouldn't want it any other way. any album that reveals all it will reveal in the first few listens is rather superficial in what it has to offer. i am off to listen some more, and thank you joe for your dedication to your fans and your true deep love of music. it shows and we all can relate on that level, no matter what anyone thinks of some silly CD. Rock on, buddy.

(people, even if someone doesn't like a CD after repeated listens, it is not a travesty to mankind. stop bitching people out just cause they don't like the same stuff you do, grow up, and if you like the CD then put it on and enjoy it, if someone doesn't like it, even if someone-god forbid-hates it, WHO CARES). anyway, i'm diggin' it. diggin' deep... I actually don't think i've posted this many times in such a short period in months and months, maybe even years at T2J.

So joe, i've been listening to the new cd, and just thought i'd say that now i have more of a firm grip on it overall and it is totally solid. And some of this stuff I actually think is some of the more original stuff you've come up with in a while (like that chorus of hands in the air)... It defniitely has some vibes left over from SBM, but maybe even seems more focused as an album overall, whereas I really liked SBM but now it feels more like a collection of songs compared to ITLIS. I really like that there are a lot of real head-bobbing rock moments as well as some unique sounds slipped in here and there for a good balance. This CD is very 'you.' And as I suspected, songs grew on me that didn't intially grab me, and that is great. The title track wasn't my favorite at first but then it had such a 'turkey man' vibe going that i couldn't resist it. Anyway, there's really no need for me to go on anymore, you get the idea. Thanks.

does anyone know if we have to purchase tickets ahead of time for joe's clinic at Daddy's in Boston, or if we have to get there at a certain time, etc. etc.? Their website is completely worthless and my experience is that the people that work there are about the same (sorry if you work there). Thanks.

I have a question for everyone here! This is not joe-related, sorry, but I need to ask a group of people who, for the most part, don't know me. I currently have a website (www.evbro.com) and I am considering changing to something, very possibly www.evanbrownmusic.com. This address is much longer, but I'm wondering if it would be easier to remember and come across, especially when I'm just shouting out my web address to a crowd at a show. Evbro.com is short and sweet, but I'm not sure if it's the best thing for me to keep it or change it. Any honest feedback from anyone here would be much appreciated. Thanks guys, and rock on joe.

I agree, but evanbrown.com is already taken (as is .net) so I have to come up with different approaches. Thanks for the feedback so far.

DO THE STU - thanks for the feedback, i'll probably make that move.

962 - evan-brown.com is registered, evan-brown.net is not. i am always leaning toward a .com name though, and preferrably without a hyphen but it's certainly an option.

ALEXANDRECAETANO - Thanks for the suggestion, but i already have evbro.com and evbro-music would just be making that more complicated. i am trying to decide whether or not to move away from my 'nickname' evbro and move toward my regular name, hopefully making the url most memorable.

MICHELLE - The problem is that most people who i am going to start to expose to my music will not know me as 'evbro' and when i say the name people say, 'uh, how do you spell that' which they wouldn't with evanbrownmusic.com. So your vote doesn't count, haha

EVERYONE - speaking of exposing my music, i hate to add another shameless plug here but if you want to check out my new song 'if only' go to http://www.download.com/evanbrown and download it - it's kinda catchy, radio-friendly, funky. not instrumental but it has a guitar solo. Enjoy.
