Redemption! Well sort of anyway. I got the new Zep cd but no dvd so I'm halfway there! On my first listen now, on track 1 and I can just tell I'll be banging my head all night long. Too damn cool.

r6rocker: "The world is not black and white. It is many shades of grey." Me!

mowlie 2000: Congrats! Kids are cool to borrow sometimes, but it's nice to give 'em back lol

death cube K: Cool little story on that link. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later lol

Cover Art Voting: Yeah, I think we're close to being ready to vote. We just got in one more and hopefully PhryDom can get it up on the site sometime pretty soon although he's going thru some hefty computer problems so it might be a wee bit on that. Anyway, once the new one is up we'll see if I can get Jon to help us out again.

Mr. Nick: I wouldn't worry, you should hear me try to play that song. My dog looks at me cross and the fish all hide from me. I think they're trying to tell me something.

Hey everybody, I'm back. Well I never left, but I was unable to respond to the posts I was reading due to a momentary laspse of reason of sorts. I moved my desk around a little bit, and my keyboard quit working. So instead of checking to see if it came unplugged, I did the logical thing and beat it relentlessly. When this didn't fix the problem, I had my most mature moment of the week and broke it in half over my knee. That didn't fix anything either. When I went to replace it this morning I found that it had indeed come unplugged. Oh well.

OCPS470: I use fender pics too. To help avoid "pic walk" (when the damn things just seem to rotate around in your fingers, trying desperately to escape) I put the top 2/3 of the pic on a grinding wheel and just rough it up a little. It doesn't really texture it, but it takes the gloss off and makes them a little less slick. I could do the same thing with sandpaper, put that doesn't involve a power tool and that just isn't as cool unless you can make noise while doing it lol

Austin: The Zep Cd's are awesome. I have listened to nothing else since I bought them. I'm addicted. Almost like rediscovering them.

r6rocker: That's a great original quote and as true as anything else I've heard.

Quote of the day: "Criticism is like champagne, nothing more exercrable if bad, nothing more excellent if good; If meagre, muddy, vapid, and sour, both are fit only to entender colic and wind; but if rich, generous and sparkling, they communicate a glow to the spirits, improve the taste, expand the heart, and are worthy of being introduced at the symposium of the gods." Not me, Colton

McDave: Yes, but smashing it felt so very good.

PhryDom: Wow man, all those covers are looking great. I don't think it'll be a problem getting Jon to hook us up with another poll to choose them, but like you said, we need to cover our asses before anything is set in stone. Oh, and there have been a couple people that paid the submission fees to me by check, so we're doing a little better than you think lol.

Ovation: Not only is the ball rolling, but it's picking up speed at an incredible rate! Look out everyone, this is a virtual bowling alley here!

Quotes of the day: "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. Few ever lived to a great age, and fewer still ever became distinguished, who were not in the habit of early rising." Todd "Horseshit! I'm goin' back to bed." Yours Truly

crushingday62: See if your bank can issue a money order in U.S. funds. If not I'll ask my bank if they can handle different currencies.

PhryDom: No probs man, you had no way of knowing. And as far as the other stuff, I'm on the case.

punkdude75: When it's available, it will be sold at our site.

Well, I'm off to clean out my basement. If I'm not back by this evening, call the authorities lol

Thought of the day: When Thomas Edison worked late into the night on the electric light, he had to do it by gas lamp or candle. I'm sure it made the work seem that much more urgent.

PhryDom: Sleep Training eh? That would be cool. Listen to some cd's while you sleep, wake up and be able to play them. I like that idea.

crushingday62: Cool man, no problems with that at all. Let me know if you have any trouble.

alexandrecaetano: That's great, good luck to you.

Austin: I finally pulled my way back up those stairs just now. I don't want to ever go back there again. Ever. To hell with the basement. A lot of people don't even have them and get along just fine.

Well, I spent all day down in the basement again. I'm almost done. I hate doing stuff like that. Anyways, as far as everyone on the T2J submission payments, don't worry. I haven't sent out my big collector guy Guido just yet. lol

PhryDom: Dude, you kick ass. Everyone, go vote for covers.

satriani.com vs. vai.com There's no contest! This place rules! Remember when Jon had us all hooked up with a multi-topic board but we didn't use it. This kind of forum keeps us all closer and much more family like. No topic police, complete freedom of speech and loads of great arguements to read! Much like a real family.

Austin: Damn dude, I forgot to congratulate you on hitting 1000, sorry man. Belated Congrats!

I think Eddie's clean/dirty sound has a lot to do with his clean/sloppy technique. That's what I always liked about him. He always sounded like his fingers were just running loose and it sounded so damn cool. A real nice mix of accuracy and balls out bullshit is hard to do really well like he does.

How's that for a T2J voting link?

Megaboyd: Puppetry of the Penis?

Jellyman: Cool new tune, nice groove to it.

Hiram Abif: The Avarice Clarky's referring to is a custom made 7 string he's been waiting on since the dawn of time. As for the other Avarice, there is a link to Clarky there too, but it's a long story.

Clarky: Are you foaming at the mouth yet? You must be checking for deliveries every ten minutes or so I would guess.

Hiram Abif: I looked through the archives here to see if I could find the beginning of the Avarice incident for ya. It's in the site's old format that has the most recent posts on top. Anyway, I think this is it. It lasted for about 2 months or so, and his first post (I think) is about 1/3 down the screen. The birth of Avarice There's some pretty funny stuff during that time frame, but I warn you, it could take you a long time to read it all and catch up on everything. Some things are better left to rest. Even if they were hilarious.

So everyone here is AVARICE? That makes sense now. I guess I'm AVARICE as well. Which also makes all of us the one. Err ones. So why do all of these AVARICE's talk to themselves all the time? I mean a whole page dedicated to one guy talking to himself in 40,000 different personalities? That's a lot of barnyard animals.

Hiram Abif: Confused yet? We were lol.

mowlie 2000: I've received a few strange emails regarding my iuma as well. Not recently, but when I first put it up. Anyway, a lot of those things are scams I think so be careful.

ToneCapone: I've got a GNX3 and I really like it. If you want, check out my iuma for some examples of it's recording capabilites. Every sound you hear came from that little board, every effect and most of the drums as well. Also, check out the GNX3 forum at digitech.com where there are lots of people that can answer questions for you as well as show more examples of tunes. Also, as far as my songs, they don't sound good because I can't play, not because the GNX3 isn't any good lol.

PhryDom: My dog wants to order a T2J shirt, but isn't set up with pay-pal. Apparently they're having a hard time confirming his account of bones in the backyard lol.

Clarky: AVARICE is IN me? That's not cool. Not cool at all. I'm not gay, have no problem with people who are gay, but if I were forced to be gay for some reason, I'd like to think of myself as a pitcher, not a catcher! I feel violated!

Ricky Garcia: Yeah, I think we should do some sort of cooperation deal with the Vai project as well. I did have that thread set up to email me when ever there was a new post, but for some reason it stopped doing it. I was wondering if there had been any more discussion on it and I just checked and saw that it is indeed going strong. Keep us posted on the progress and we'll see how we can best help one another. Also, to all from here and there, this shouldn't be a competition between Satch and Vai fans on who can make the better tribute cd or whatever. I think we can both benefit from these projects so everyone should help everyone else out. Plus they can learn from our mistakes, and we can learn from their mistakes for our 2nd cd. All good things.

Clarky: LMAO! My barren soil could have been plowed.

Morning all, just catching up from being gone all weekend. Hope all is well with everyone.

Metallica vs. Limp Bizkit? Hopefully they'd kill each other and wipe them all out. I heard the new Metallica song on the radio this weekend and really hated it. Was James singing a different song or something. I figured they tricked him and just put his voice on this song instead or something happened to the master or something. Terrible stuff, but to each his own. Not hard to figure out why Jason left the band. Apparently he still had some of the ill advised "taste" left in him and they couldn't beat it out of him.

death cube K: You slipped into the quad digits while I wasn't looking, Happy 1001 to you dude! You thought Zakk sucked huh? I saw him several years ago with Ozzy and really liked the show. But that could have been due to all of the bare breasts that were surronding me at the time and distracted me from the music lol

OCPS470: I've used the NS-2 before and it works well, although I found I had very little need for it. I used it at the end of my chain to level everything out, but a lot of times I just turned it off. You play a lot cleaner than I normally do though, so it might work well for you.

mowlie 2000: You can pay using pay pal by clicking here. If you've never used paypal before it takes a few days to get registered with them. If this option won't work, I'll see if we can find an alternate means of payment for you. Just let me know.

Howdy folks! I've done a little fiddlin' around with my iuma and have actually managed to upload another song on it. It's called "Me Foot" and might even show up in the featured section if all worked well. If not, it's in album 3. death cube K: it's the song I sent you the other night, but with a cheesy little into thingy. Anyhow's, ya'll let me know what you think. Don't worry, I won't be offended either, I have less than an hour in the whole song, from writing to encoding for mp3 so no worries from me.

ToneCapone: Thanks for the comments on my iuma. I'll get there, slowly but surely. Mostly I'm just goofing anyway and if I spent more time writing stuff instead of just jamming it would probably make a bit of a difference. However, I tend to have the attention span of a gnat so there ya go lol. Anyway, so you gonna get the GNX3?

Adrianorb: Thanks, that was a track I just kinda winged it on. I hit record, tried to stay within a scale and lost all track of time. I'm amazed the drums fit it at all as I didn't have any backing track or metronome going, just gleefully hopping along in my own world. So after a one take guitar I spent all day messing with the drum machine to come up with something that sort of fit and grooved. Glad you liked it.

Tonecapone: Cool man, let us know when you have some songs up that we can listen to and don't let these guys intimidate you. There's some unreal players here, but they can give tons of advice to you once they've heard some of your stuff.

dragonchild: Don't worry, there's plenty of guitars on my track. Actually, on the clip there are two acoustics, a bass, and at the very end of it the start of a distorted electric. Later in the track 2 more electrics come in so it'll make more sense once you hear the whole tune.

Anybody: Is Friedman's new cd all instrumental? If so, I'd like to check it out. No time for vocals for me. I might have to decide whether I agree with what they're saying or not and that just takes too much effort.

Thought of the day: The reason the mainstream is though of as a stream is because of it's shallowness. Speaking of water ways, always remember: When swimming the river of life, do the breast stroke. It helps to clear the turds from your path.

And to plagiarize Carlin one last time for the evening: The following statement is true. The previous statement is false.
