r6rocker: Haha, that's what all my buddies have been saying lol. Infact some were here just a few minutes ago saying, "How long do you think that dining room is going to remain a studio?" and, "Yeah Bil, I don't see the Jeff Beck autographed litho staying in the living room too much longer, where you going to put that?" I ain't goin down like that! Anyway, as far my current favorites in the two wheeled department I have to say the new CBR1000RR is looking pretty interesting. I rode an 03 954RR two days ago and it's wonderful. The GSXR1000's power is just unreal though, it comes on very hard, and is hard to control at times, where the Honda is more refined and user friendly. I haven't ridden any of the R1's since 02 so I'm a little out of date on that. Why you wanting to jump up in displacement? Right now, if I was going to buy something it would probably be a ZX636. I can't say enough good things about this bike. It's like riding a 750, but more nimble. Unlike every other high horsepower 600 I've ridden, it's power comes on down low and just keeps building, it's really quite remarkable. Honda's 600RR is a lot of fun too, it's as responsive in the handling department as anything I've ever thrown a leg over and it's top end power is fantastic, but it doesn't have any nuts at all below say 5,500 rpm and doesn't really hit hard until about 8,000. It's so hard to say right now though cause everyone is making some really great bikes at the moment. I haven't had a chance to ride on of the Z1000's yet, but I love the look and feel of them from sitting on them. But of course that's a whole other kind of ride and if I were going to go that direction I think I'd have to do a Speed Triple. Always liked the look of those and I'm sure it's different there, but over here you never see them so you have that unique cool factor going. Sorry everyone for the bike rambling, but once I get going, it's hard for me to stop.

Plum Loco: That's cool man, flu season sucks!

Alexandre: How are things going with you dude? Good I hope.

Clarky: That painting is awesome, that'll be my wallpaper for the next few days, cool stuff.

Tapper 5: Also a fixed bridge is great for heavy riffing and taking big bites with the pick without the strings pulling your bridge and altering your pitch, if you're into that kind of thing, like me lol. Should I develop a lighter touch? Nah, where's the fun in that? lol

Clarky: Yeah that would be cool to see all of the originals, but I would imagine that's quite a bit of traveling. Any chance you'll be including a small pic of each image with the album's artwork or anything, or perhaps you could have a website with all of them and descriptions for each song or something. I think that would be cool. Of course just more work and money for you lol.

r6rocker: Thanks man, and as far as big bikes that'll soak up the bumpy stuff I'm dying to ride the new KTM 950. We had one and sold it to a friend of mine, but I pissed him off because I took to long rebuilding the head for one of his other bikes so he isn't talking to me right now. Whenever he gets over it I'll be sure to post a full review of it. I did get to sit on it when it was on the floor and it's a big heavy bike, but it looks like fun. Ever ridden one of the 640 Duke II's? They top out around 100 but they are a hell of a lot of fun, great for backroads and intown stuff. Being a single cylinder they have a lot of vibration though, kind of makes your nuts tingle for an hour after riding it lol. As far as bigger displacement muscle style bikes, I think you're on the right track with the Z1000. I haven't ridden one of these yet, but I've head a lot of good things. Just waiting for one to come in for service so I can do a little quality control check on it. Only in the interest of good customer service though lol, I'd never take advantage of my position to just ride bikes I like. Yeah, well I gotta find a shovel to dig myself out of all the bullshit I'm standing in now haha.

Ovation: Yeah man, compromise is the key to it all lol! It seems to be working so far, as long as I can afford to keep us both happy that is lol.

T2J CD News! The last card has fallen into place, we have approval from Joe to use this cover for the project, which has been our last holdup. This cover had originally received more votes than all the others but since it contains Joe's likeness we hadn't included it in the final four choices. Now, back by popular demand, we're officially good to go.

Hey everybody, sorry for the absence, been a hell of a week, but fear not, I've been on the case. I didn't even attempt to catch up all the posts, entirely too many to even skim through, sorry. I did do a the beta search to see if anything was relevant to me so I can at least answer a few questions. I have good news and bad news. First the good news:

T2J Cd project is rolling on along with zero hang-ups in sight! Yes, it'll be available for Christmas and yes all song contributors are still getting a free copy. As far as the autographed copy for Joe, I'd love to do it, but if just one of us drops the ball then we're screwed. Also, I'd like for Joe to have a copy before Christmas.

Ok, bad news, not for the project, just for me. I've had another "neurological event", basically meaning that due to my long history of concussions I've had two brain seizures this week that have resulted in loss of consciousness at the most inopportune times, like at the top of the steps leading to my basement. After bouncing my head off a wooden staircase and concrete walls and floor I've got yet another concussion. This one being a bit more serious than the previous ones as I had to spend a little time in the hospital and have developed a shake in my right hand and right leg that comes and goes as it pleases, which means no guitar playing unless it's one handed legato runs and those are getting boring. It also means no driving, no motorcycle riding, no turning wrenches and no alcohol which pretty well takes away everything I do with the exception of bedroom activities and everything is working quite well in that department lol so that's where we've been spending most of our time.

So anyway, that's what's been up with me, hope all is well with everyone here. I'll leave you all with a bit of advice: Whomever it is that you care about, stop what you are doing right this moment and go get them right now and hold them close. You never know when your light will burn out. Are you still here? Get going now! I mean it! No cheating either!

Greg M, mischievious, dragonchild, Plum Loco, & juju808: Thanks for the get well wishes!

mischievious: All I can say is hug them anyway, although I'm not responsible for any lawsuits or restraining orders lol

dragonchild: Well I can't ride any motorcycles, I suppose I could put some of my helmets to good use lol

Plum Loco: That's good news man, and congrats on the gig! As far as my playing I'm really not concerned about it. I'm just happy to able to walk from here to the couch without feeling nauseous or dizzy anymore. If my hand never quits this then so be it, for me there are more important things to worry about and not to mention if it never stops I could always say, "Yeah, I used to be a good guitarist, on my way to being great and then this happened! I coulda' been a contender!" LMAO! No worries man, all is good.

juju808: You're assuming I was 100% to begin with lol

On switching guitars while performing I know it's pretty common with Vai and Satch as well as most bands. On the Rush in Rio DVD I was really surprised though how many different types of guitars Alex changed between. From Les Paul's, PRS's, Telecaster's, a big ole Gretsch, can't remember what else, but that's gotta be hard to do. I have a hard time switching from my JS to my Les Paul or Flying V, not to mention the 12 string, and then every once in a while I'll pick up my Strat and my fingers just get lost all over again. I don't see how he does it so seamlessly, but it he does.

Wow, 637 posts that I've caught up on! Didn't want to half ass it this time and miss out on anything. I only have one thing to say: Everyone here kicks ass! Thanks to each and every one of you for the get well wishes and kind thoughts. Great big smile on my face today!

Michelle: So are you in the process of becoming a saint by performing three miracles or what lol?

Clarky: Talking to Stone is a simply beautiful track. I know you've already made your decision, but I'm almost inclined to tell you to leave it alone, or perhaps include the current version as a hidden track or something.

Johnny Aimless: It's three o'clock in the morning in Minnessota. I need a camel. LMAO! Kevin Smith rocks.

Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. Carlin/Thanksgiving quote for everyone before I go: "You never seem to get laid on Thanksgiving. I think it's because all the coats are on the bed."

Master Yoda: Soon Soon Soon! Update in next few days.

Mutha Michelle: You have to be the coolest Mom I've ever heard of! Way to keep those boys in check. By the way, I think Clarky must have written the song Mutha of Mothers for you! Happy Birthday wishes for your baby!

PhryDom: Let's go with the preorders once I have a concrete release date. Should have that shortly.

Greg M & mick87: Jeff Beck would rock for G3! I'd love to see Beck and Satch jamming together in any type of arrangement though. Space for the Papa with those two would really kick ass.

Ovation: LMAO! Nah, the coats were safe. Spare bedrooms are wonderous things lol.

JS JS: Incase no one answered you, Digitech Stuff

Austin: Well, you beat me to it. Should have known lol

Someone had asked earlier about links to the T2J peeps iuma sites and such. Click here for some links to the T2J CD project song contributors.

mick87: Happy Satchaversary!

Austin: Yeah, I agree on the site for T2J music links, that'd be damn cool. Someone needs to pick up this rolling ball before it goes into the street and gets hit by a car lol

Ovation: LMAO, you pretty well have me pegged, man!

Alexandre: Things are improving for me daily. No more dizzy spells and the right hand problem has become less and less frequent. Thanks for asking my friend.

TASTEY: Like a lot of others have said, don't judge Vai on that album alone. Being that it was a concept album, it's not really reflective of his true self. But then again, with all the different types of music on it, it's very reflective of his range. Anyway, I'd suggest picking up The 7th Song from his archives. This is a collection of all his ballads from the previous albums that were featured as track 7. That way you'll be exposed to several albums worth of music without having to buy his entire collection. Also, if dreams mean anything, my toaster is very angry with me lol. Just kidding, I believe that dreams mean a lot about what you may be thinking at that point and time, but not necessarily the answer to any of our own questions. As far as fond memories of an ex, I don't see anything wrong with that. I doubt your husband expects you to regret and hate all of your memories before meeting him. Those memories and experiences helped shaped you into the person that he loves.

Clarky: I think that would be an awesome idea, putting different versions of the tune up to vote on or get feed back on. That would be very cool.

elpp: I know exactly what you are saying about the seats of a Cavalier. My girlfriend has an 02 and the seats are very uncomfortable after anything more than 30 minutes or so.

fused9: No, I buried the memories of those feelings many years ago so I can't remember them. Oddly enough, I don't remember getting mad at the guy though. He was just doing what I would have been doing in his position. I'm pretty sure I wanted to choke her though lol.

Ethn: That was entirely too damn funny! Death by bukkake! I'll be saying that all week now lol

Ovation: You better believe it! Improving daily. Must be my strict regimen lol

Austin: Peter Green by a mile. As far as me playing, yes I can for short amounts of time. I recorded a new tune last week, but it took ages to do. Had to fit in recording takes between the shakes so it was pretty aggravating, but I really wanted to do it, so I made it thru it. IUMA isn't accepting uploads for some stupid reason so I might put it up on my mp3.com site.

michelle: Thanks, I definately am.

Clarky: Yeah, I think that's a great idea. And as far as Pride goes, would you refer to her as a DB6?

Alexandre: Will do man, thanks.

TASTEY: I'm glad I could help a little. That's what we're all here for anyway.

r6rocker: Yes, finally! By Christmas! You would think I was producing Clarky's album or something lol! Just kidding Clarky.

r6rocker: It looks like I'm about to start working in a Ducati shop, so come springtime I'll be giving full reviews of their complete lineup. I'm looking forward to it very much.

Clarky: What if I had a DB6 and a Vantage? I guess I'd have too much money to worry about making any kind of decisions then, so I'd have to pay someone else to pick lol.

michelle: Yep, I love it too. This place and everyone here kicks so much ass we could be our own army.

COErules: I love my JS6 and for that price it sounds like a steal. I had an S470 for awhile too, and it was pretty damn sweet in it's own right. I guess the only question you have to ask yourself is, to whammy, or not to whammy? I'm a fixed bridge kinda guy so my decision was easy.

OME: Not just yet, but I should have one later this week I think. I'll be posting it here of course as well as sending all the contributors a big email with all the info.

mick87: Wow, I had completely forgotten about the action figure idea! Little Joe's with kung fu, no make that Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing Grip! LMAO again.

SupaaDave: I'm glad I'm not alone in those fears. My girlfriend is 8 years younger than I am. I'll be keeping an eye on you two to see how it turns out lol.

Ovation: Thanks man, I can't wait to test some of these babies out. Ducati's are in their own class, the Ferrari's of motorcycles. Should be fun.

Michelle: We are the Luminous Flesh Giants and we shall triumph lol! Also, on the Brazil fans, I've heard numerous bands say that their favorite shows are down there because of how enthusiastic the crowds are! It must indeed be quite a rush to play in front of fans that are so appreciative.

Megaboyd & Ethn: Prince does in fact rule. Some of the best strip club music ever!

Greg M: Yeah, it's gonna be damn cool I think! I can't wait.

juju808: Things get tough on everyone from time to time, but it will get better. Promise.

OK, I want to jump on the joke bandwagon: Little Mary Margaret was not the best student in her Catholic school. Usually she slept through the class. One day the Nun called on her while she was sleeping, "Tell Me Mary Margaret, who created the universe?" When she didn't stir, her friend little Johnny, sitting behind her, took a pin and poked her in the rear. "God Almighty!" Mary Margaret shouted out. The Nun said, "Very good" and continued on and Mary Margaret fell back asleep. A little while later, she asked her, "Mary Margaret, who is our lord and savior?" Again, Mary Margaret didn't stir and Johnny poked her again. "Jesus Christ!" exclaimed Mary Margaret. "Very good" replied the Nun. Mary of course fell back to sleep again. A few minutes later, the Nun asked Mary Margaret yet another question, "What did Eve say to Adam after she had her 23rd child?" Once again, Johnny came to her rescue and poked her with the pin once more. Mary Margaret outburst, "If you stick that damn thing in me one more time, I'll break it in half!"

mikesb: I'm pretty sure they came up with that one together lol

Ovation: When it comes to riding bikes, I always wear a helmet. I've been in this business too long and had too many customers die because of it not to. Generally speaking, about 4 or 5 customers of mine die each year while riding. I think about them everytime I throw a leg over one, and say, not me. Not today.

Clarky: LOL man, that's what I figured. Have fun polishing on your tunes man, and take your time. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Michelle: LOL, I'll have to get myself an open-face helmet for day to day use. My full face one tends to interfere with my "strict regimen" lol

Lyz: That cd is out in the truck so I'll have to listen to it later and tell you how it makes me feel. On your second question though, I'd say this guy is after more than friendship. I think Stu Clone's idea of taking a friend along with you is a good one to see what's up with him.

elpp: I think it may be a little of both on that one lol.

Artanis I: I'd have to go with names. There's only one color for me when it comes to those: Silver. Kickin it 007 style lol

Ovation: Yes, it can be very disheartening. Sometimes you can see it coming when they first come in to look at bikes. New rider with zero experience wanting new GSXR1000 = accident waiting to happen. I've seen time and time again salespeople trying to talk customers out of buying certain bikes because of this, but you I guess you can't refuse to sell them what they want. All you can really hope for is that they total it just get rashed up a little bit. Often times it's much worse though. The way I understand it, over in Japan, you must slowly move up in displacement as bigger bikes require different licensing. I think that is a really great idea that should be implemented here. The AMA would never stand for it though, but man would it save a lot of lives.

mikesb: I lose more and more respect for Ozzy everyday. Thanks for giving me today's reason lol.

Jimmy Kane: I'd have to say for me, my girl is. Yes, I'm whooped pretty good lol.

Clarky: I just now noticed your instrument of choice listed here! LMFAO! Anyway, I'm sure we'll all dig Shredz when you have it ready. Just like Eddie said in the interview that was posted here yesterday, "There will be no riffs before their time!"

Alexandre: Yeah, I'm doing a lot better my friend. My mind is free and clear again. My hand hasn't started shaking once yet today, and believe it or not, I think this thing has actually improved my playing a little. My legatto is better for sure.

r6rocker: I know it, I can't wait. Ducati's are so much fun and have so much attitude. I love sitting at a stop light on one, with that dry clutch making a god awful racket thru a vented cover, people looking at you wondering why it sounds like the engine is coming apart, and then, you're gone! I haven't talked to Dave since Sunday, so not sure what he's got going on.

death cube K: LOL on Ozzy. I can't believe what a publicity whore he has become over the last few years. I mean, how much money do you really need?

Ovation: Funny you should mention getting hurt on little 50's. It seems that's where most of the injuries occur with the guys at my shop, goofing around and being stupid on little bikes while drinking beer and such after hours lol. Back when my shop was cool, before it became the K-Mart of motorcycle dealerships, we challenged another shop to a 50cc drag race at a local 1/8 mile drag strip. We both had 6 months to build the bike and the only rules were it had to use orignal air cooled Honda Z50 engine cases and cylinder, and be naturally aspirated (no turbo, supercharger, nitrous etc.) Well, we built one hell of a 50, mating an old 4 speed tranny out of an XL70, stroked the crank, and bored and resleeved the cylinder so to a point where you could actually see the new sleeve thru the fins! Of course the chassis was stretched way out with wheelie bars (that were used on every shift by the way) and it sat about 2 inches from the ground. A nice skinny front wheel (off a Spree) and a nice fat drag slick on the back with a custom made wheel (yes, we have entirely too much time and money lol) Anyway, the little thing ended up going over 71 mph in the 1/8! We killed the other shop lol. Ok, enough 50cc ranting lol. Sorry everyone.

One With The Computer: Welcome back Kirk! It's been awhile. I'll be checking out your site as soon as it's ready. Good to see you around again. There's a few familiar faces still lurking around here, and a lot of cool new ones too.

Mick87: LOL on the T in tsunami thing. Don't you hate words like that? Like those silent K's too. What the hell is up with that? Knife = nife, not kanife. Why? I think I'm going to write a song about it lol.

r6rocker: I have the same problem sometimes. My girlfriend also mistakes my confidence in my superior abilities as arrogance lol.

Sharif: Glad you're ok. Toyota's kick ass. I wish I still had mine. Now I'm driving a Chevy that the interior pieces keep breaking on me. Rearview mirror fell off. Heater selector know popped off. Little dash panel insert just jumped out all by it's self one day. The door for the vanity mirror on the sun visor. That's it. I'm buying a new truck.

Yayogakk: Hope you're feeling better man. I recommend Wild Turkey and Nyquil.

Lyz: I can't read your story now, but I will soon. I'm into stuff like that and looking forward to finding all the Satch references.

Austin: Yes, I agree. Vick sucks ass.

Artanis I: That's a great idea about the saxophones. We can overcome the atrocities inflicted upon us by them. We will no longer be a repressed people. No longer will the man keep us down with his tyranny and oppression. Death to Kenny G! Death by bukkake! Ok, I'm better now.

4,370 posts since I was last here? This might take a minute.....

First off, many many thanks to Austin for telling everyone "Hi" for me, and to everyone here who checked on me, sent well wishes, cards, and good vibes. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this place kicks more ass than....well something that kicks quite a bit of ass. Like a nuclear warhead, but quite a bit more kind. I just got home from Tennessee this evening and have all sorts of things to catch up on. My family is nine kinds of pissed off at me for taking off for a month and I've got to start my new job next week so though my time is limited, I'll be poking my head in from time to time. Assuming I don't go to jail for killing my niece who was house sitting for me and completely folded up my computer. My buddylist is folded, my hard drive full of some pop music nonsense, not to mention the house is all folded up too. Dead fish in the half filled aquariums with clogged filters, more dirty dishes than I even knew I owned, a phone bill for one month that is more than I normally pay in a year, stains on my pool table and an empty liquor cabinet (r6rocker: Yes, she even drank all of my Canadian shit LMAO!) Healthwise, nothing much to report. Haven't been to see any doctors since before Christmas (they tend to get a lil pissed off when you tell them to fuck off) but after much deliberation (and blackmail from my girlfriend) I'm going in for an MRI and loads of other fun stuff next week. Since we were in Tennessee, I was trying to get her to marry me (drive thru wedding for $79 sounded like the most romantic thing in the world to me lol) but she resisted. Something about not wanting to marry someone who, because he's bullheaded and refusing medical treatment would be making her a widow before the first anniversary. I calmly explained that if we got married and I underwent treatment that there would be a chance I might recover and end up having to spend the rest of my much longer life with her. Somehow she failed to see the humor in all of that. So now I'm going back to the quacks. Also, I'll get back on the CD project very soon, within a week or two, too much stuff to catch up on at the moment, but it will be a priority very soon, I promise. Thanks for everyone's patience on this and thanks again to everyone. It'll be nice to be back in here with the Satch family again.

Thanks for the welcome back everybody! I really missed this place.

Ovation: Thanks man, I'm still sort of settling back in. Doctors and new jobs and all sorts of fun stuff, but I'll be back on the project soon. Hopefully sometime next week.

death cube K: Yeah, Paul seems to think that part of my problem might be my love of Canadian Whiskey so that's what was up on that one lol. No worries from me, Crown Royal is the nectar of the gods as far as I'm concerned.

michelle: Thanks for the hug, I appreciate that. As far as the wedding, come on down! Bound to be a good time although we seem to be in a bit of a disagreement as far as the songs go. I've managed to get Love Thing in there somewhere I think, and the first dance song could be Joe's version of Sleepwalk but she may just be agreeing with me to get me to shut up lol.

Ethn: "Mark all dead" Instant classic man. LMAO.

Alexandre: Hey man, yes I did thank you very much for that. Miranda said something like, "How is it that when I'm sick, I might get a card from you and maybe my sister. You get sick and you get cards from Portugal and England." lol

JS JP 41: I'm just a guy lol. As far as just one Satch song to use to introduce his music to someone I'd have to throw in the G3 or LISF DVDs. There's been several times that I've played Joe's tunes to people trying to get them into it and they always say the same crap, "Where's the words?" and they completely miss the whole point of his music. But you throw in LISF and skip to say, Ice 9, they see the performance and they're like, "Holy Shit! This guy is unreal." I guess it's because they pay closer attention or something when there's something to look at.

Megaboyd: Damn dude, that sucks about your truck.

Master Yoda: Cool new site man! Nice story about the band's beginnings too.

Clarky: LOL so that's what happened to my liquor and fish. Would have thought you were one of the fish lol.

Artanis I: Look what you started! Jon's gonna kill you lol

death cube K: Change it to "death cube with a capital K"

I always thought Pia was Vai's brother in law or something. And this massive posting business is rather frustrating. Let's see, what else...oh yeah. I managed to get a page up over at soundclick since mp3.com is done and iuma is folded. Just four songs so far, 2 older ones and 2 new ones. One of the new ones I did last month before all my shit went down that's called When You Smile and the other I wrote on the 12 string (before I smashed it to bits and burned it, long story, don't ask) while I was away. Anyway, it's called Eyes Full Of Hate. You can check them out by clicking right here Anyway, let me know what you all think, take it easy everyone, I'll talk to you all soon.

Megaboyd: Who are you again? lol

death cube K: Thanks for checking out the tune, and yeah it makes sense. I had fun doing it, and rediscovered the JS6 with it. Even thought the solo sucked it was still fun. Nice song title btw.

Sharif: I forgot to tell you that I checked out your site the other day, good tunes man. I like all the changes in the first one, very much all over the place, just like emotions can be when a girl has messed up your head.

zonin: Damn dude, that sucks. Seems like you're keeping your chin up, so continue on, things will get better.

Ollyno1uk: Thanks man, I appreciate it. I record into a Digitech GNX3 and then transfer to my pc for mixing. The memory card I use to transfer the files is about worn out, hence all the static in the recordings, but I'll get around to picking up another eventually.

Alexandre: Happy Birthday Bro! Hope you have a great day.

Plum Loco: Thanks dude, good to be back. As far as other people not liking instrumentals, I guess too many people have to be told thru lyrics what a song means. I like instrumentals because the song can mean anything to anyone. And it destroys language barriers, becoming a true international language of its own.

mischevious: I'm certain Clarky was joking about Pia being Vai's dad. I know I was about her being Vai's brother in law (Can't believe no one picked up on the Avarice reference lol)

PhryDom: Nevermind, I stand corrected lol.

Thanks to everyone for checking out my site, here's another shameless self promotion Take care everyone, have a rockin day.

death cube K: Thanks for the compliment on the new tune again man. That mistake right at the end just kills me though, but my hand was starting to act up and I just said fuck it, it's good enough. What's up with you man, any new tunes since I've been away?

PhryDom: Yeah, joining those things can be a bit of a pain in the ass sometimes I know. This place has actually been good about not spamming or anything so it might not be so bad. You can stream the songs without registering if you want, and if you like what you hear give me a shout and I'll email ya the mp3s.

TASTEY: Yeah, that quote is a good one. It rings very true for me as I'm sure it does quite a lot of people.

Yayogakk: Weren't you one of the reasons that four hour limit thing was imposed on us to begin with lol? I know you weren't alone though, lots of guilty parties in on that one, some still here, others moved on down the road.

Dragonchild: Thanks, I'll keep the quotes coming, and good luck in your tournament. Billiards is fun, especially nine ball. Too bad I suck lol

Sammy Andrews: Thanks for listening, it's appreciated. I just like to have fun with music and get peoples opinions.

Austin: I amazed my girlfriend's twelve year old sister with your four is cosmic thing over the holidays lol.

Michelle: Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're gonna have a dj. I'd like to have a band play there because I have this silly little idea of writing a nice ballad for her and surprising her with it by playing with the band or something, but something tells me with all the nerves from the big day, let alone playing in front of both are families might be too much to handle. It's a nifty idea though.

Clarky: Happy 1000 to you, but remember, if you weren't in here talking all the time I could be listening to your album by now lol.

JS JP 41: You don't have to be able to play to have expensive guitars. I've got a few nice axes and I can't play very well at all considering the time and money invested in it lol. If you don't believe me, click here. Great redneck joke by the way.

mOBSCENE: Barrie does in fact rock. That version of Clouds Race Across the Sky is great.

juju808: I'm refusing to watch the Superbowl. I do hope Carolina kills the Patriots though because I'm a Colts fan and need some retribution. Not that it's the Patriots fault that Indy lost, they gave us plenty of opportunities, but we're too used to playing inside on turf, snow and grass don't do to well for us at all lol.

Graham: Are these leotards used lol?

jazzer13: Hang in there, you don't lose the battle until you lose hope.

mick87: Aplogize for letting Bryan Adams into the states? That's awesome man, easily the funniest thing I've heard all day. LMAO!

JS JP 41: Well, actually I'm just starting a big medical ordeal, but it's a very long story, and not very interesting. The link I posted wasn't to my axes, but to my music, to prove that I do suck lol. The link was fine, the site must have been down when you checked it. Here it is again. Oh, and trutina is a latin word meaning balance.

Ovation: Damn right this chain is unbreakable! We're an army remember! We'll take on anything or anyone at anytime or anyplace. Unless they're really big. And mean. And it's cold out. Or far away. lol

Yayogakk: It's all good man, I used to be an arrogant little bastard myself when I was around that age. I'll never forget your reviews of EOC though, awesome stuff lol. And then meeting Joe backstage on that tour had to be a lil bittersweet lol. "Uh, yeah, I'm the guy that's been talking trash about your new album on your site, nice to meet you" lol

Austin: In the NFC I guess I was pulling for the Packers. I have oodles of respect for Farve, he's pretty diehard. I actually have a lot of respect for the Patriots, they are an awesome team. I've just never forgiven them for knocking Oakland out two seasons ago I guess, and then since I'm all about the Colts I had to officially call them enemies lol.

Kell: Thanks, I'm a stubborn sob, so don't worry about that.

michelle: You could have a second career as a wedding planner of sorts, but not in the traditional way. Have a site set up, that kind of works like a Dear Abby thing, and give guys advice on sweet ways to propose and all that jazz. Oh, by the way, I just spent enough money to buy 2 JS1000's on an engagement ring. She thinks I'm broke from paying for a cabin for a month (that did hurt the wallet quite a bit), so she isn't expecting anything for a while. Not sure exactly how I'm gonna do it yet, so any ideas you might have would be great to hear.

Jon Luini: We'd love to get some merchandise action going on in here. Would it help if we all added something like JOE, PUT SOME SATCH MERCHANDISE ON THE SITE!!!? Thanks for keeping the wheels of this place well greased.

PhryDom: I tried sending a song to your @talk2joe address but it didn't work. Should I try your @sharpfour?

Alexandre: Thanks for saying that, I really like that song too. I wrote it when I first met her, months before we even really started dating or even talking.

Mick87 What's up with Free Alex?

Where the hell is Avarice when we need him?

This Vai debate is just too good to pass up. "Talentless....and...arrogant....and...no emotion"? I couldn't disagree more. Reading something like that would normally lead me to believe the person saying it hasn't listened to much of Vai's cataglog, but I guess you have. You're entitled to your opinion just like anyone else, so don't think I'm telling you that you're wrong. I'm the first to say that in matters of opinion, there is no right or wrong. Ever. That being said, you're wrong lol. Just kidding, but I'll offer my opinon on the matter. The arrogance that you refer to I assume is concerning his stage presence? Or is it something else. I think Vai's more of a showman and displays a sense of humor on stage, mainly poking fun at himself. I guess it can look as if he's pretty full of himself when he's making all those faces, sort of acting like a showoff. But I believe it's all in good fun, tongue in cheek humor left over from Zappa and DLR. The talent I believe speaks for itself. The man is just a monster player with more good ideas than you can shake a stick at. And as far as emotion, I don't know of many artists that play with half as much as what he puts into his music or that show a full range of emotion like he does. Check out a song called Warm Regards. It's on Fire Garden and is also the hidden bonus track on The Seventh Song. That song hits me deep every time I listen to it. Vai's not for everyone, I'll admit that. In a lot of cases he can be a little too over the top for most people, but that's the nature of the beast I guess. I live for over the top. Anyway, like I said, you're entitled to your opinion so have at it. You might have said it in a harsh tone, where a simple "I don't care much for Vai's music at all" would suffice nicely, but to each his own. I've been known to lash out too.

OK, time for bed, I'll catch up on everything else sometime tomorrow. Take care everyone. Oh yeah, Michelle: I think I'm gonna go bash her over the head here in just a minute lol! Maybe. She's asleep and I've been up stressing about how to ask. I don't want to wait any longer, but Valentine's Day is this saturday, which also happens to be her birthday. I guess I'm gonna wait. Dammit! lol

Thanks to all for the ideas on popping the big question, but I couldn't wait any longer. I bought the ring over a week ago and have been a nervous wreck ever sense. This morning, I grabbed it, and hid it in my pocket when I slipped back into bed with her and she was asking what I was doing, what was wrong, why I was stressing and couldn't sleep and all that stuff. So, with my best poker face ever, I told her I needed to talk to her about something, that I was unhappy with the current status of our relationship and that I didn't want to be her boyfriend anymore. Then I waited about ten seconds for that to sink in a little, pulled out the ring and said, "I'd rather be your husband. Will you marry me?" Excessive body contact occurred for the rest of the day. :-)

Anuj: Amen man, well said.

VBIL: We're gonna release them together as a double cd!

Jazz Man: No one's trying to change your opinion of Vai, or at least I'm not. It sounds like you've given him a chance and just don't dig it, that's cool. But you can't expect anyone here to change their opinion either so don't sweat it. On Vai winning the grammy, getting drunk and burning it, I couldn't agree more. Although Steve is all tight with the industry people now that he has his own label and such so I won't hold my breath. He won't win anyway with that song because it sucks. Feathers would have been a much better choice in my opinion, but I'm pulling for Beck on this one. Maybe he'll ask if they forgot to take his name out of the hat since he just won lol.

My list of people I'd like to see on G3 and why it won't ever happen:

Jimmy Page: As cool as it would be, he'd never do it unless it was a very short tour, but it would have to be all on his terms and he'd have to be in charge of it, not Joe because, like most of us, he's a control freak. He's one of my heroes and the main reason I picked up the guitar in the first place, but he's a self admitted control freak.

Jeff Beck: Refer to previous paragraph. Although he'd be more likely to be a special guest at a show, but not a scheduled act.

Eddie Van Halen: I honestly believe Ed's too insecure about his ability to impress a crowd while standing between Joe and Steve. He shouldn't be, but he is.

John Petrucci: I think he fit well, but I doubt that there will be a repeat, just for the sake of not having a repeat.

Steve Stevens: Would be awesome, but last I heard he wasn't really into shredding much anymore and he'd probably feel that would be expected of him so I think he'd decline.

Dweezil Zappa: Too busy having fun being Dweezil.

Steve Lukather or Paul Gilbert: There is no good reason why either of these guys couldn't be a part of the next G3, whenever that may be. But it won't happen because that's what I want to happen lol.

OK, enough rambling for one post. Quote of the day: "By all means, marry. If you get a good wife, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher." Socrates

Thanks everyone! You all rock, and oh yeah, I guess I could have mentioned that she did say yes lol! The date has yet to be set, perhaps this fall sometime? Who knows, we're just happy to be at this stage of the game, plus we need to see if, how or when any of my treatments might affect our schedules. Anyway, happy times indeed! Thanks again to you all.

Clarky: Re: Excessive Body Contact--First, you're gonna need a big club.... And oh yeah, I'm ready for a fight. I'll destroy you and your legos! Don't you know that the big boys play with erector sets! I'll build a bunch of cool shit that'll just melt your little legos away lmao!

TASTEY: I'm gonna go ahead and take a wild guess to say that he just might be an angry person after all. Just a shot in the dark, I don't know lol.

Michelle: LMAO!

Austin: Dammit dude, I was all itching to start calling people fucking cunt rags and you just ruined it with your decency and common sense! I guess I'll have to just shout it at passing traffic, or perhaps my next customer lol.

death cube K: That axe was made for some country musician, can't remember his name, from Brooks and Dunn I think. Not sure if it was Brooks or Dunn, but it must be one of the two I guess lol. I'm not into country, but the lil lady is and the tv seems to be tuned to CMT a lil more often than I'm used to. It's all good as long as it's on mute, some pretty nice eye candy in some of the vids, kinda like a down home version of hair band videos lol.

I've skimmed thru most of the posts, and had things to say about a lot of them but seem to have forgotten them by now lol. Sorry to all, probably some earth shattering, future changing ideas just got flushed down the toilet. And clogged it all up. Dammit. On the subject of spiders, I dig the lil guys. I don't hang out with them or anything, but I generally go out of my way to make sure they're safe in my home. I have maybe five spiders (that I see anyway) in the house, and in the time I've lived here have never once seen any other kind of bug in here so I figure they're earning their keep. I'd like to build a bat house out in the back yard to cut down on the nighttime bugs in the summertime, but I think my neighbors would flip out. Maybe I'll buy a big bug zapper and put it next to the back fence to draw bugs to the neighbor's yard (the one that calls the cops every time I decide to play Mustaine like riffs at 4am).

Let's see, what else is new? My dog is rather pissed at me. I went to give him a piece of bologna and saw that it was just starting to turn green so I threw it away right in front of him. Poor guy was looking at me like, "WTF was that, Dad!" I gave him a piece of bread to at least hook him up with something and he just set it down at my feet, sat down looking at me for a few seconds and then walked away.

I haven't been able to do much as far as recording lately. The steroids I'm on are really starting to mess with me. Interesting fact: If you take steroids and don't work out, your fat will turn hard. I swear it. I've still got a bit of a beer gut, but it's rock solid lol! So anyway, I can still play a little bit and have been learning a few basics that I should have learned years ago. There's these nifty little guitar lessons on the InDemand feature on my cable system. They're free so I figured why not watch them. Kinda cool, being that they're free and all. Would have hated to pay for them though lol. But I did manage to get a new/old song up on my soundclick page. It's an improvised bit I did maybe two or three months ago called Wednesday Morning Jam. I thought about making it into a proper song, but it has that first take magic thing going for it, and since it's probably going to be awhile before I can play that well again anyway I'll just leave it as is for now. Anyway, check it out here.

Yoda/Plum Loco: Could you guys post the links to your tunes again for me? Sorry, I know I'm being lazy, but I want to check them out.

It's been awhile since I've busted out any Carlin quips, so here's one for old times sake: "Masturbation is not illegal, but if it were, people would probably take the law into their own hands."

And the obligatory quote of the day: "The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense." Tom Clancy

Edit: Link fix

Edit II: Clarky: I would have named that chord "George".

Edit III: (I'm goin to bed after this one dammit) Jazzy Boy: I kinda agree with you on them not really being metal. Vai has had some metalish songs but if I were describing him to someone I don't think I'd put him in that genre. I don't really care much for subdividing genres anyway. It limits the open view the artist is entitled to. Some people may prefer to be thought of as strictly metal, or blues, or country, or what have you, but I don't think I'd like to characterized that way and have to assume a lot of other artists wouldn't either. But that's really not relevant to the poll you were referring to as it was a list of "Metal Guitarists". You don't happen to have a link to the list do you? I'm sure there are plenty of others that don't belong either. I'd like to check it out.
