Just a quick T2J CD Update: I've sent an email to Mick Brigden(Joe's management representation) asking for some specifics on everything. At this point there is still quite a bit I don't know but I'll be sharing all information as I get it both here and through email with everyone I've been in contact with already. As far as a limit of songs, the only constraint will be the actual time the cd physically allows. Even though I don't know the length of everyone's songs yet, I'm certain we still have plenty of room on there for more contributions. Thanks for everyone's support on this. It's amazing what we can all do together.

Mr. Nick: Good idea on the time limit thing, but for now let's see what we got. If everyone planning to contribute could send me an email with some approx. length to the songs they plan to submit, that would help out quite a bit. No huge rush on this and like I said, just a guess will do for now, but we will at least know where we stand. I don't want to limit this if I don't have to.

Hey everyone! Lot's of chatter in here about the project and that's just too damn cool. First on the subject of Joe submitting Slick as many have suggested. Wouldn't that be awesome? I don't want to push our luck though, he's being more than helpful as it is. But keep posting it here, you never can tell, he might surprise us. Second, as far as deadlines, at this moment there aren't any but I expect to come up with one very soon. So, if you are working on something for the project, I hope you're in high gear. Again, if anyone wants info, either email me @ trutina@aol.com or click on my posts for the last few days or both and I will try to answer all of your questions.

The sale of the CD will be online only through a site that Phrydom has generously offered to build for us. Payments will be accepted through paypal and shipping will indeed be available worldwide.

Stu Clone: I know what you mean man. I tend to "overproduce" my stuff as well and make things a bit too complicated for the simple ideas in my songs. Sometimes it works out and other times it doesn't.

Techty: No, the T2J CD project is from everyone here at this forum. I'm for lack of a better term the project coordinator (wow, sounds official eh?) on it. Click on my "18? post total" under my name at the left of this post and read thru my posts over the last few days. But yeah, this will be all of us putting out our original songs on this.

Hey everybody. Lots of debate on the copyright issue and I wish I had all the answers. I'm still waiting to hear back from Joe's manager on what he recommends so I just don't have anything solid on the subject. Same deal with the publishing rights. What little I know on the subject of copyrights, is that it's different from place to place. In the U.K., copyright is automatic and requires little proof (the mail yourself the song thing) to be legal. In the U.S. and Canada, our governments have figured out how to get us for application fees, requiring registered copyrights. I had really hoped to have a complete answer on the subject today, but it just hasn't happened yet. I'm still doing my best. In other related news, I'm going to go ahead and set a deadline for March 31st. for submissions to be sent in. For now, everyone count on at least doing the mail to self copywrite method and possibly registering (if your home country requires it) until I find out more. Email me with any questions and oh yeah, one more thing. Ace Frehley does play with emotion. He's happy everytime he plays 'cause he's gonna get paid!!! Hence emotion! lol Later everyone.

Matt: Definately, no problem there. The publishing agreement will only be you giving us permission to use the song, not exclusive rights or ownership.

Kell, sorry to hear that, however deadlines are necessary. Perhaps if this one goes well we can do more. Don't want to get ahead of myself though.

Flaming Lips? WTF is wrong with these people? Oh well, something tells me that we take these things more seriously than Joe does, so hats off to ya Joe for being just an all around good guy. Although it would have been entertaining if someone would have just flipped out there at the ceremony, grabbed the mic and openly asked the members if they were completely fucking insane. But that kind of thing wouldn't reflect Joe in a very positive manner so we'll just stick with slamming these idiots quietly and privately here on T2J.

death cube K: No subs yet, but lots of time left and lots of interest. Also, your playing and songwriting skills are more than good enough, your stuff puts me to shame. However you did mention the 13th scroll again, that might jinx you. That's serious juju your messing with there.

Ethn: I don't think you'll have any problem "fitting" a song in. I don't know about the rest of you folks, but, I'd like the CD to be as diverified as possible. With as many different sounds and moods as there are personalities on this page.

mak: Yeah, ProgX made a full recovery, but never really came back to T2J full throttle like he was before.

How did I discover Joe's music. One day, around 90/91, a friend of my brother was over and checking out my CD collection. He saw Vai's Passion & Warfare, and was like "Do you play guitar?" I said no, just liked to listen to guitar music without a bunch of lyrics messing things up. He said, "I've been playing for about 15 years. Vai is awesome, very very impressive. He's is the poop, but Joe Satriani is the shit!". So I borrowed Surfing from his and the rest is history.

death cube K: No, but I find they compliment each other very well.

Anyone see the new Guitar World with the top 100 guitar albums? Pretty interesting stuff in there. Joe was in for the virtuoso section as well as Vai, Hendrix, Beck, Malmsteen, Yes, Zappa, Cream and Johnny Winter.

Edit: Now it's official, Happy 600 man.

Austin: The Yes album was actually a compilation/box set called "yesYEARS". It's kinda cool the way GW did the list. They had top 10's for 10 different styles like Classic Rock, Classic Metal, Modern Metal, Virtuosos, Garage Rock, Alternative Rock, Screamo, Punk, Blues, Jam, and artists picks. A few overlapping categories and a few ignored ones but I guess they were taking their reader's demographics into consideration, so all in all not a bad list.

crispin: Yeah man, bring it to the people!

Austin: Yeah, I kind of agree, it is sort of cheating. They did the same thing with Jeff Beck using Beckology. I was surprised they didn't with Hendrix, but they used Band of Gypsys.

Nick: No, payment amount won't be determined until I know exactly how many people are officially on board and have actually submitted. But if anyone out there would like to donate to the cause, for the cost of production, they will be able to have at it here in the next few days.

Clarky, good to hear you're gonna try to make it, as well as you Plum. Anyone else that hasn't spoken up yet, the more people that get involved, the cooler this thing will be.

Mr. Nick: Thanks man! Happy 200 to me!

Deadpool: Songs for the CD need to be originals. For more info, check out my other posts or for a little more, read on.

crushingday62: Sorry, but copyrights are necessary. However, in the U.K. they are quite easy and quite cheap. Ask some of your fellow countrymen about the mail to self method. Also, the deadline for submissions is March 31st. For submission info, just email me at trutina@aol.com and yeah, Joe has already offered publishing assitance.

Yoda and Clarky: Check your email.

PhryDom: The site looks great. Thanks man.
