Well, this is very nice Mr. Luini. Love the new features, Joe you owe Jon a big thank as do the rest of us. Not that the old site sucked or anything, but this is cool. Anyway Joe, I was thinking maybe you could put all of you foreign market only tracks all together and put them on a charity album or something. I don't know how many you have but if you took all the songs that are only on Japanese releases and such it would be a must have for us Satch Fans. Oh well, just a thought. Hope all is well with everyone. Peace, Tru.

eebysubb: I think it's safe to say that Joe's favorite Hendrix tune is Voodoo Child (Slight Return). In Joe's words, "It is just the greatest piece of electric guitar work ever recorded. In fact, the whole song could be considered the holy grail of guitar expression and technique. It is a beacon of humanity." That's from Guitar Legends 100 Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time issue where Joe had two entries, #30 for Surfing and #55 for Satch Boogie.

Joe: I read a recent interveiw with you somewhere online and you said every time you start a G3 tour you invite Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. I can't tell you how cool that would be. Please keep trying this. I would quit my job and follow that tour. Please let me know so I can go ahead and give notice. Anyway, back to reality. Thanks for the new album and enjoy the tour. Later and peace to all, Tru.

I guess the commercials are right: Never Underestimate the power of cheese! Wow it's been a long time since I've been here. Glad to see everyone is doing well. I've been so tied up with work that I haven't had time to check in on Satchland. That's all changed now though, for I am taking the rest of the year off. I've been playing a lot and doing a little recording with a GNX3. Loads of fun and still trying to figure everything out. If I wasn't on dial-up I'd put some songs up for y'all to listen to. Oh well, maybe someday. You aren't missing much anyway. Just a wanker playing patterns over a cheesy drum loop. Anyway, take care all, peace. Tru.

My 2 cents on the 21+ thing: When I was under 21, every show I wanted to see was 21+! Not just some of them, all of them it seemed. It was incredibly frustrating but I somehow managed to live through it. Now it's not the artists fault of course, but that of the promoter/venue owner. The money from ticket sales, go to the artist (or ticket agent or people in charge of concert series and so on). The reason these promoters put on concerts is to bring more people through their doors to buy more drinks so they can make more money. Now I'm no genius by any means but something tells me there is more money in selling Budweiser than Coke. Just a hunch. Now if Joe wanted to play exclusively at all ages venues, his take of the ticket sales would go down. I'm not saying Satch is money hungry, just that going on a tour of that magnitude is expensive. Everyone has their hand out. With a lower percentage of sales, the tour would lose money. How many tours do you think Joe would do if he lost money on them? I sincerely doubt he's making millions on it as it is. It is a necessary evil that is the music business. Bigger shows, that are all ages are primarily in big venues, not clubs or bars. Now if Joe were playing arenas and stadiums it would be different. Unfortunately, there aren't enough of us in Satchland to justify such venues. I'm not trying to offend anyone, I'm just calling it as I see it. And the next time I go to a 21+ show, I'll think about you younger folks that can't get in, while I drink my screwdriver. Later all, Happy Halloween, Tru.

Tobes of Ethn: I'll second that and vote for trundrumbalind but for song of the day, my vote goes for Steve Steven's Dementia. Awesome live track. Speaking of live tracks, what's everyone's favorite live Satch song? Right now I think I'd have to say Hordes of Locust from Dreaming but Ice 9 from LISF really kicks ass. I don't know, what do you all think? Any "official" live recording is eligible (no bootlegs). Peace to all, happy thursday. Tru.

Blue Sky gets my vote. RBSH 5/ Rubina 3

On a down note, I sold my Ibanez yesterday. It wasn't much to speak of (S470) but it did the trick. It was the most expendable of my guitars and I just had to have this Flying V so there ya go. Guess I've always been a Gibson guy. Sorry Joe.

But on an up note, the Colts beat the Broncos at Denver in a light snow! Will miracles never cease?

Peace to all and to all a good night. Tru.

I'm making it War 10/ Attack 4

Also, I came across this quote today and found it interesting, and thought some of you might agree. "The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, statagems and spoils; The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his afflections dark as Erebus; Let no such man be trusted!" William Shakespeare

Yayo: I think you have a great idea but I haven't any money to print it on! It will be interesting however to see where this money ends up. Some of us might actually come across it by chance so we should all be on the lookout.

Later all, Tru.

In the percussion department, I have only two words: Neil Peart. That guy is such a badass. He's constantly changing his technique and style and always comes out on top. Damn, I'm making him sound like the Madonna of drums. He's always my top choice for any incarnation of a "dream band" (any musicians you want, living or dead jamming together). Whereas the other musicians vary on the mood I'm in. Like right now I'm thinkin' Peart, Satch, Jeff Beck, Louie Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and probably Geddy Lee. Now that would be a cool band. OK, I've wasted enough space, Happy Turkey Eve. Tru.

Dragon Child: I couldn't agree with you more. I've been playing 5 years or so but I still make it a point to listen to the overall feel of a song before trying to figure out what's going on. To me, that's what the song is for. To express an emotion.

Can't vote for or against tube amps as I have very limited experience with them. I play thru a Peavey Transtube that fulfills my humble needs fine. My GNX3 has plenty of amp and cabinet models in it as well that sound great to me. I don't need the real thing. I can't play all that well so why worry about it? The one thing I do know is that every guitarist that has a tone I love, plays tubes.

Mr Nick: That test finally proves it. I am certifiable. See y'all in the cookoo's nest.

Speaking of Steve Morse, I don't have any of his stuff and I'm interested in checking him out. You guys have any suggestions for a first time buyer? I loved "Joy To The World" on Merry Axemas, so I know I would dig his music.

And while were on the subject of Merry Axemas, song of the day: Jeff Beck's version of Amazing Grace.

Happy Tuesday Everyone.

Hey all, haven't been here for a couple days. I've been snowed in with no phone line and no beer! What an ordeal! Anyways, I have finally done it. I now have an iuma page to post some of my songs on so here comes the blatant self serving plug: Go to http://bilmckim/iuma.com and check it out. Sorry but I'm a computer idiot so I couldn't link it. You won't be finding any top notch guitar playing (or even 2nd or 3rd notch) there, but some simple songs from a simple mind. I don't have a band or anything, but if I did it would be called "Three Chords, Six Strings and a 12 Pack". It may just be noise, but it's my noise and I like it. Hope you guys do too. Later all, Tru.

Plum Loco: Why don't you have a comments section on iuma? Anyway, you've got some pretty nice stuff, keep it up.

Anyone: I'm still trying to figure out how to put a link on here so you guys can check out my stuff. So, how do I make this right here a link?

Also, on the subject of anyone being the best of anything: There is no better or worse, no good or bad, merely popular opinion. Of course that's just my opinion so there ya go.

Edit test: Thanks Austin, I'm an idiot. That's how I make that a link, rtfm! lol

JS Clone 1: Thanks, you know how they say ignorance is bliss? Well I'm the happiest guy I know!

Yayo: That's great about quitting smoking. I've tried several times to no avail. My mother and my grandfather on my dad's side both died of lung cancer so that tells me I wasn't bred to be a good smoker.

Michelle: I remember the Time Machine background. When I first started coming here (around 98 sometime) I didn't have that album and had no idea what the background represented. It looked like a Metzeler Moto Cross tire to me, so I thought Joe was into dirt bikes or something. I don't remember the store though, it seems I remember the section but there wasn't anything there. I could be wrong though.

I am Gandolf, I live in Rivendell and I'm pissed that the Colts lost! That pretty well sums up my day. Oh well, things could be worse. My iuma site has been getting some hits so thanks to everyone for checking it out. I'll be putting a couple more songs up tonight or tomorrow. For now, I'm gonna plan a mini vacation to some place warm. I hate cold weather. Later all and have a great Sunday. Tru.
