Does anyone here know how i can get open tunings without detuning the machine heads? Is there a gizmo out there that can allow me t get this without removing my trem & lockin nut?I,m needing at least 6 open tune possibilitys without to much fuss between song sections for live work.I already bought the new Roland V.2 in an attempt t overcome this & still maintain the original string tension & action, but for some reason the high E string still has the original note with the detuned, the settings are correct so its not my fault, unless the unit is a bit dodge, any ideas peeps would be appreciated.

Zach:If your around, read above, can your trembolt be used on all strings?

VFRrocker:Thanks for the info bro,Years ago,Martin Furey, made a capo for just that, has little fingers y can adjust t make different tunings, great for ideas.Look him up in the SBM site but what i ,m looking for is t change in 100ths of a sec, then to another tuning then another in just a moment.I learnt that DADGAD tunings give me so much rythmical power & out & out tone t support a solo i have t delve into the idea further. It never fails t brings a smile t the soloist if the backing is well rounded in sound, something i,ve never found in standard tuning, although some of the flamenco/Uzbekistan cats i,ve seen do in rythmical spectactular style, still dont have that deep natural growl that open tuning gives.I,m at present working on flamenco/Uzbek techniques with this in mind & i believe it t be a formula that should it see the light of day,be second t none,if not for me,then almost defo another.

On the 1 km idea, that is pure genius,i,m so unbelievably impressed, talk about taking a simple idea & making it work,my god...nobel peace prize material,i,m stunned

So i go t work this afternoon t do what should have been an easy job loaded with the worst fucker of a cold i,ve had in years & Darrell on my mind, get into the clients flat & get my instructions on what needs done,6 tiles t cut & an old metal water tube t replace...fairly straightforward.Get the water supply turned off in the flat & tell the peeps upstairs not t use any household water for the next 3 hours,no probs, all is well.Pulled out the old tube from the ceiling & about 2 mins into fitting the tiles underneath it i hear a flush,yip..now how many here can say they,ve been dumped & pissed on by an 80 year old, what made it worse was i had no change of clothes & 40 min in the metro t get home at rush hour *sigh*i used t be stinkin rich, now i,m just stinkin

VFRrocker:Will do bro, when i get my hands on it & fitted,i,ll let y know,i,ll not be stuck for ideas anyway.Of t pub t sink a bucket of ale after a nightmare day, read above, startin t see the funny side of it at last but what a bastard of an afternoon

Zenfish:1st no problems there,i,m organizing this with friends as we speak so they can mark it down for next year, not the greatest studio in the world but has all y need, pro tools inc,a M Boogie is poss for yer guitar also,if not i,ll have my Peavey classic 50 by then.

2nd:Gig/jam session may or not be possible,i have one place in mind where my friends/musicians go t jam.Would have t be a Saturday night because on Friday i arrive at 6/7 or 9pm depending after work & i,m pretty tired from the labour.Sunday night....i,ll make the effort if push comes to shove,Same goes for Friday

3rd:we have the late hours on Fri,Sat & Sun

4th:Not into that idea at all...because after hearing my work for the last 10 years,i cant stomach playing it anymore, lol, although i have others unrecorded you might like a crack at

5th:For your "Zenfish"The bass idea sounds good, have just the man t do it if hes not touring, last i heard he was with The Specials,if not him i know 2 others here just as capable.I say record that last & jam out the 2nd till we have the right vibe & record that first

Your edit:Jammin time depends on how much we all get our shit together, lol. The 2 tracks you have in mind, should be rehearsed/recorded & on cd Sat night after which i,ll send t Ronnie in the states t download t site

This sounds of course all easy, lmao, but i know you know its not in the organisational part.I,ll pull all the strings i have t get y heard Zen,i,ve been there b4,thats why i,m doin this,at the very, very, worst we can play & record in my flat & send t the site if your happy with the result.Nothing else t say other than may God grant us that time.Mail me at roy-marchbank@hotmail.com if y have any other questions bro, my site add is http://www.sevenbrassmonkeys.com/Roy.htm for my music t date

VFRrocker:That was one day bro i really wanted t end,the first time was bad but the second!....well lets just say i made the lads at work happy, lol.Really happy i have t say,its a huge curve from being a pro guitarist t building in Catalunya, doesnt screw up the hands, leaves y knackered but gives me an option if things go tits up in music t make a buck, never had that b4 although i,ve worked in many a field Archaeology & as a mechanic t name 2.You mentioned in a post i must have worked hard on music...I practiced day and night bro & still do,i wake at 5, practice 2 hours, walk t metro, play on the metro 40 mins with a lil 50 euro guitar i bought, arrive at work lift between 80-100 sacks sometimes up 4 floors pushing each finger hard against the weight i carry with a beat in every step, dude i never stop & never will.Music is my god & i give it all of me...every day,i just want t be the best i can be,i,m not looking for rewards, never will...back in a month bro, laters

Zenfish:Your day is coming friend, hope y enjoy your stay when it arrives

Death cube:Yo bro, have y tryed Bogner amps? From the Spanish Guitarist review,i cant help but feel maybe i should go for that instead of the peavey classic 50.What y think?

Zenfish:Well bro,i dont judge others,at least by skin colour etc etc meaningless nonsense,if someone shows respect t me i give back, its a ying yang thing, nothing more. The beauty of music is that hopeless devide between cultures through words that cant be said. You will always be able to visit & come & go as you please,i,m not bound by rules, nor ever will be,as you are Zen,nothing more required

Death Cube:I,m on an up curve bro happy t say,was a lil rough a while back, but it comes with the flow, cant avoid some things. On my feet again & at it,have all a man could ask for,so yeah,no complaints here apart from getting my fingers around this last track, lol,How r you?

edit:Has t be a Bogner then, hmmm, the wife is so not goin t like this news, lol

Zenfish:This is true, but i understand a person from the first note he/she plays quicker than i ever will with poetry, not that i dont understand,i do.......eventually,lol.Heres something a poet friend of mine wrote

As if you ever stood on Stonehaven beach, beach without sand;as if you stood, and, choosing a smooth flat stone, threw it skimming across the top skin of the ocean

As if,in that split second of release, you vanished, becoming the stone, ocean, your words those brief diminishing strikes of chaos,a last word swallowed home.

for Aine Furey Andy.B.Jackson

Clarky:Bro if thats your idea of stupidity...i,m in trouble, lol

Stevee T:Goin back t listen some more soon, back t y after a listen.http://www.sevenbrassmonkeys.com/Roy.htm if y care t have a listen yourself t my work.Web site is in need of a rehaul but all in time. The track Siempre Amor i imagine, might be a good first, although the vibe is fairly chill throughout except for Egyptian Psycho & Flymans Knuckle after the acoustic part.Hope y enjoy

Alexandrecaetano:I,ll get a chance tonight t have a look bro,back t y soon.

VFRrocker:I read a Bruce Lee quote that puts it to the point "The man that thinks he can, can" How i approached technique was much similar to anyone else around my age...erm 35 now, lol, with the good ol turntable,i still feel its better food for soul, nothing like picking up the needle & sticking it in the groove t ZZ top, lol,.Later around 13,i started reading & transcribing a lot of guitar/violin & piano classical work...Saint-Saens Introduction & Rondo capriccioso in A Min,Op.28 is still a fav although i feel sorry for the lads name Dong.Suk Kang,OMG who plays the piece so well on the remaining version i have, its on the Naxos label,.Went to music college & woke up to my limited note choice for improvisation, got stuck into Art Tatum,Frank Gambale/Tal Farlow & world music...never looked back since.Thats it in as good a nutshell as i can put it,as t your question.."do y ever look back & think how did i do that"the answer is NO,those that i,ve learnt from are master craftsmen & i owe every part to their insight, that gave me the freedom t pick what i wanted t say in notes & make it my own best i can, although as the years pass the body does slow down & the fight t maintain difficult technique is hard work but no longer a MAIN part of my playing style. Some say less is more...this is true,i just need t listen t SRV,Dave Gilmour,Ben Webster etc for that...but then what?Build a castle of music y love, play & work hard at it if y cant, most of all ol bro, enjoy the ride & MERRY GRUMBLE,lol
