Hey Joe, and fellow Satriani.com members, This is my first post here, and I don't really have much to say except that I'm glad I'm a member of the JS community.

Joe- Toronto show, you know what you have to do.... Secret Prayer. 8^)

Thanks, Alex.

Hey Do The Stu-

I'm turning 19 on Dec.29th, just got back from visiting the Motherland, (Russia) and I play the geetar.

I saw Joe when G3 came to T.O. in 2001, it was an awesome show, but this tour will hopefully kick even more ass. Favourite songs... there's a lot: Brother John, The Snake.. that whole album is so good. Echo, Mystical Potato Head Groove thing, Banana Mango 2, Turkey Man, Mind Storm, Starry Night. ALl of Crystal Planet, but out of the whole JS catalogue.. Secret Prayer is my song.

Other bands I like, 311, Deftones, Kevin Cadogan, RATM, Frank Sinatra, BB King, thats a good enough list of my diverse musical tastes!

Hey guys, reviews sound ..somewhat awesome. There are a lot of mixed feelings, but I know by the time this tour hits the 2nd week milestone all 3 guitarists will be in sync with each other on the jam, and Joe will definetly succumb to our setlist demands!

As in.... Secret Prayer for T.O.

Alex.

Nice to hear from you Joe! And it seems as though this G3 song 'war' has really come down to just The Forgottne (Part Deux) and Secret Prayer...

Well, I've said it before, and I will be until the 6th of November..

Secret Prayer in Toronto!

Hey guys

What ever happened to the whole idea for a song poll for Joe's Anthology album?

Or did I just totally miss out on it?

962 or anyone else:

Are you serious that there was a poll for the Anthology c.d.? How the hell did I miss it?? I've been on this site ever since they made an announcement of releasing it, and all I've ever seen was a news update on a poll being uploaded real soon.

God I'm a jackass, I really wanted to contribute my input song ideas! Ah well... I guess I'll just have to wait out 4 or 5 more studio albumms, and I'm sure another Anthology c.d. will be in the works.

G3-Toronto

Man what can I say, I'll post a mini-thorough review on here, focus primarily on Joe:

Well what can I say... A hell of a lot but the highlights go like this, Got to the venue at around 6pm, word is Joe was around for a short while, and some dude kept telling him he knew his wife's sister, that he's from England, and Joe kept saying- my wife's sister is not from England. haha

Then, the crowd around the side stage was quickkly disbanding, and entering the hall, while we waited maybe another short while and decided to head in before 5 minutes of Y.J.M.'s set. I couldn't last sitting in there, waiting for him to come out when I knew Joe would be coming back from his supper in T.O., with no-one out there, so I grabbed my ticket, told my fellow buds that I'm going to meet Joe, not seeing YJM is worth the sacrifice for making direct and personal communication with Joe Satriani.

No luck, within the time span of appr. 8 minutes- of us entering the hall, and me coming back outside...Joe had waltzed through the side doors, and was inside. Yes...this was very saddening to me, but I didn;t believe it, so I waited another 20 minutes, and walked in halfway during YJM's set, oh well, its the sacrifice and dedication that counts. At least for me.

The Show: Yngwie was I think awesome, i went in as a neutral observer, I've heard both sides, and just being a young guitar player, there is no reason to criticise the guy to the extent that some people on here, and everywhere else do. He did a good number, totally 80's get-up. Rock On.

Steve Vai Awe inspiring, beautiful, powerful. This is how I see Steve Vai, this is what he radiates of, and this is what he displayed for us. Triple neck, amazing... Juice- amazing, NEW SONG- very intricate, and of course, Whispering A Prayer, which was dedicated to someone. Just pure magic, it was played flawlessly. What was great was when he involved the crowd into mimicking his feedback, like Joe did on Live in S.F. it was great. The best thing I found about the set was how when he was done, everyone stood up for the standing ovation of course, and then waves of applause just kept going ang going, he was completely overwhelmed, smiling and looking at the side stage in amazement "When will they stop?" hehe, that showed his true humble character. He also said "Man, you guys got me feeling so good, you guys in the front row better watch it, I might explode later"

The Alien First thing's first, you never notice how short Joe is until you are on the same level as him, last time I seen him I was up top at the 2nd balcony, it was just surpiring to see that he's probably around 5'5''!? Here is the set as I remember (fairly well): 1.Satch Boogie 2.The Extremist 3.Crystal Planet 4.Starry Night 5.Midnight 6.Flying In A Blue Dream 7.The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing 8.Always With Me, Always With You 9.Summer Song

I keep thinking I am missing a song in between The Extremist and Starry Night, my apologies.

God, he was AMAZING! So much STAGE PRESENCE, he had so much power over us, over me! Every song had me in anticipation before it was played, and when it was, I was the only one that was expressing my emotions towards his songs at the side stage, everyone was so conservative and still? Cmon man, it's Joe! I can't believe how good he was, he had a glow in the dark alien shirt, his new (I think) red guitar was his preferred choice, as was the old chrome boy, and the flames one. Peavey Triple X rig is so smooth!

Alright, I'm done. All I can say is, that Joe was phenomenal, very pleasing to the mind's aural senses, and I cannot wait to see him again. Thanks Joe, I am honored to be your fan. (Sorry this turned out to be so long.)

Holy crap, this website kicks more and more ass with every new album hehe.

Anyway, I can't wait for this album, Astronomy and Guitar- my 2 biggest passions converging into 1 journeyous aural experience. Dwaaa! Finally, the long awaited answer will come to the question of- Is there love in Space? And what better man to answer that than Joe? Well, maybe Dr. Carl Sagan but, this rambling has gone on too far... Anyone else excited as I am?!

Someone asked about what 311 Day is a few days ago- 311 is a rock band- www.311.com and on March/11 (3.11) they play a very special show in New Orleans, this year it was clocked at 5.5 hours, with 68 songs played! Theres some stamina.

My Day- Skipped school to pick up 'Is There Love In Space?'

Popped it in, pressed play at about 15:40 hours. Now, I am not going to post an essay style review; quite the opposite, I will just lay down random words, stream of consciousness describing the music that Joe has released today:

Rock, Organic, Cosmic, Free, Transformed, Unique, Experimental, Journey, Stimulating, Inspiring, Air, Breathing, Time Travelling, Awe, Fireworks, Dynamic, Hopeful, Positive, The Future...

I don't know if anybody is with me on this one... But I was seriously flying through the depths of the universe when I was listening to this. I'm trying to describe what I captured and how I felt when I listened to the album a few hours ago with the above words. This is definetly going to be the soundtrack of my 19th summer on this planet.

Anyone from Toronto and others who can help me out:

1) Will the Amhitheatre ever open the grass seats for the Deep Purple show?

and..

2)Anybody know the dates for October's 'Evening with Satch' or when they will be released?

Thanks, Alex O.

Hey guys-

Anyone know where the hell I can get a copy of the song Turkey Man? I mean I'm not one of those dudes who..you know.. doesn't pay for music, but if someone could throw me in the right direction somewhere that would be pretty cool. No copies of the c.d. on ebay..so I'm all out of options.

Check out my August 21st review too, tell me if it serves Joe justice.

Thanks, Alex.

Hey guys..

Death Cube K- killer track, that bass is insane...Aphex Twin insane.

And I just watched the Greeting Video, what the hell was Joe saying about the bootlegs? Is he just saying come to our shows and bootlegg them, or did he hint on releasing a bunch of live shows like Pearl Jam did?

Thanks, Alex O.

I hope I didn't miss out again on another opportunity:

Is there already a Talk 2 Joe '2' in the works?

I would really like to at least have the chance to submit something, whoever decides and whether it makes the final cut or not.

I might miss out on a response here, exam times at school, so if someone with the right informaiton could e-mail me: coral1reef@hotmail.com

Thanks, Alex O.

Hey guys, just wanted to point out that a student of Joe is featured in the current issue of Guitar Player: Kevin Cadogan, from the Bay Area, he is one of my biggest influences in guitar, and although I'm just throwing his name out there, I thought that a fellow Satch fan would like to be on top of things such as these also!

www.kevincadogan.com

I wonder if Joe remembers teaching him?
