Fretslayer - sounds cool, I'll check it out sooner or later - thanks for the recommendation
Crispin - I missed the end of the Bucs game, but I agree that the officials in general can really blow some big calls - like the clips that should have been called against Kansas City during Dante Hall's big return against the Broncos. Denver rules!!

962 - 'finger smeg' is a great word for that...do you watch Red Dwarf? They use the word 'smeg' all the time.
Question for everyone - has anyone heard about another 3-guitarist tour called Guitarevolution, featuring Marty Friedman, Alex Skolnick, and Chris Poland? I heard something about it, but I don't know if they've finished touring or where they're playing or anything. That would be a cool concert...not as cool as G3, of course.

crispin - sounds like Rimmer to me!
What other comedies do you guys like? My fav British ones are Faulty Towers, Red Dwarf, Black Adder, Mr. Bean, and Monty Python...not too many good U.S. comedies besides Seinfeld and the Simpsons

Do the Stu - I've seen a couple episodes of Futurama; it's ok, but I just didn't get into it like I did with the Simpsons. I've asked my wife for the Simpsons seasons on DVD for X-mas (what are they up to now, season 4?) I don't have any of them yet.

Bigtoe - I'm surprised that Vai disappointed you...other reviews I've seen said he stole the show...anyway, I've seen him many times before and he has always impressed me...he's a guitar genius. Satch is great live, too, seen him many times, but I was disappointed to see his setlist since it looks just like previous G3 and LISF songs. I'm going to the Denver show, so I'm hoping he'll mix it up a little more for the DVD. It would be nice to have some different songs this time - I don't even care which ones, just different ones. Never seen Yngwie live, but he sounds like a blast.

Anyone hear whatever happened to Planet US, which was going to be (as far as I know) - Satch and Neal Schon on guitar, Sammy Hagar on vocals and Michael Anthony on bass?? I forget who was on drums...but I thought they appeared on Rockline at some point. Anyone know if that Rockline episode is downloadable somewhere? Thanks.

22frets - just saw your review of the Vancouver show...I can't believe you want Vai off of the next G3 tour...he is as synonomous with G3 as Joe is and I look forward to his show every time. I could care less who the 3rd guy is as long as Vai and Satriani are there, but it's a nice treat to see the 3rd guy, too.
G3 in 5 days!!

Fillmore in Denver is ALL general admission, no assigned seats at all (which kinda sucks, 'cause then you gotta get there super early to have a chance of getting close) Also sucks that it's standing room only except a couple of tables and some lame risers on the second floor where the acoustics bite donkeys

Do the Stu - I was the one that mentioned Sammy's "Long Road to Cabo"...it's a great DVD. BTW, were you still gonna send that mp3 of 'Vertigo'?
Darn, no backstage pass for me for Denver...oh well

Ya Yo Gakk - Nice playlist..you seem to have great taste, so I can't figure out your dislike for Hagar. I think he's quite capable on guitar - he may be no virtuoso, but at least he's a musician rather than just a Las Vegas entertainer like Roth

yeah, bring back the Stu!
Anyone besides me notice how low in the mix Vai was on the G3 DVD jam? I could barely hear him. I was actually at that concert in Denver and I don't remember it sounding that low live.

Do the Stu - thanks for the advice on the G3 jam mix...I'll see what happens if I change the audio settings
Michelle - right on about VH! I actually like the Roth-era albums better in general, but Sammy is so much better live and seems like such a cooler person. I hope if the rumors that he's back are true that he'll play more of the earlier stuff than he used to. I saw them with Gary in '98 and he did a great job on the old stuff (Mean Street, Unchained, etc)
Just got my tix to see Eric Johnson in Boulder...2nd row, smack dab in the middle YES!!

Ya Yo Gakk - very true, he's pretty hilarious. I actually went to the Sam & Dave tour and wasn't expecting Dave's voice to be very good (from seeing him in '92 or so), but I was pleasantly surprised..he must've been rehearsing a lot. It was great to hear all those old songs again...my only complaint is that he hasn't done anything real great on his own since he had Vai and Sheehan with him. I loved that band.
