New to site and only two years into Satch. . .but I'm a late bloomer. My brother listened to the men of G3 ever since he was a plumber. I stood outside Dodge Theatre Box Office all by myself early in the A.M. to get tickets to surprise my little bro (well, he's 45 years old). And it was worth it!!! Front Row and CENTER! My brother said he thought he might die and go to Heaven to see Joe and Vai and Yngwie perform. . .he's never been to any live concert anywhere. Joe, you will recognize my brother by the megawatt smile on his enchanted face. He adores you. Thank you for bringing G3 to Phoenix (and for the opportunity to get my beautiful brother out of the house for a night)!

Joe--can't wait for show tonight. . .this day is not moving fast enough. Can you speed it up? If you want to hang out after the show give me the signal. . .I can call in sick tomorrow. Hell, I'm already sick -- I should leave work now. Cough, sniffle, snooze.

What ever happened to "Are You Being Served?" Mollie Sugden is hysterical. Bennie Hill, too.

U.S. does have good comedy -- catch Bernie Mac, if you can. Everything else sucks.

Oh, we'll take notes alright -- are you crazy?!? That's what Rolling Stone is for. . .they need to get their people on the job. If my mammaries don't fail me--I will make mental notes of the set list. I'll probably get the first two numbers for ya, after that, you're on your own.

AlienSynergy--where did you live outside the U.S. Why did you pick Phoenix to return--duh? Was the Sahara Desert too humid for ya? Or was Mercury and Venus too hot?

AlienSynergy--I got outta bed at 7:30 a.m. the Saturday morning the tix went on sale. Sat in the middle of downtown Phx watching them unload the trucks for (ugh) Mariah Carey. As soon as I saw the slightest movement from behind the box office window, I jumped on it. I told the ticket dude--this is for my baby brother--gimme two front and center--damn the cost!!! And lo, and behold, I do believe I made the very first purchase of the day because you can't get better seats than the exact center two seats in the pit! My lucky day. My baby brother is 46 years old! He turned me on to Satriani while I was busy listening to Metallica.

KEWL!!!! Is your wife joining you tonight? I am hoping to get back stage passes as well--but only for my bro. I have a big t.v. rehearsal tomorrow for a cooking show. And then I'll be on the t.v. Saturday morning--live--UGH! Can't be sporting any deep dark circles under the orbs. Have you been to Dodge before? Is it anything like the Sydney Opera House?

JunkPile--we are bored out of our skulls--ergo, the chat. AlienSynergy--the cook show is on PBS (that's how we say it here--Public Broadcasting). Yeah, I saw Prince at the Dodge. Have seen him in several venues--liked the Dodge the best. Also, Bowie and Macy Gray will be at Dodge on Feb 5th -- have watched Bowie since 1968 -- geesh, I'm old!

Good God Almighty! It's only 4 o'clock. I know the minute the first chord is played tonight -- that time will spin at warp speed. . .and I will have to get up at 6:00 a.m. to get my sorry ass into work. But for right now -- only three (count 'em) 3 frikkin minutes have passed. E=mc2 it's all so relative.

AliSyn--I wish I was a famous cook--I wouldn't be sitting at my desk now if I were. I actually won a contest for one of my recipes. . .the producer of the show called to ask me to cook it live in front of an audience at the pledge drive for our public broadcasting station. Tonight I'll look totally different than when I'm on the cook show. On the cook show, I'll look like my grandma (when she was alive). The show will air Saturday at Noon on PBS. It will be live -- so, you've been warned.

Deaf, Dumb and Blind -- that's how you'll end up after this show! Malmsteen is not just a warm-up act -- he's the f**ing HEAT!!! Sportin lotsa fort knox, all black attire in satin, and he swings that guitar around like it's part of his body! He tears it up and rocks your brain out of your skull. VooDoo Chile made me cry it was so perfect. He connects with the audience and shows everyone that his rock is not dead. His opening note put an underwater buzz saw in my brain. He throws a souvenir pick like a rock star should. I love you Malmstud! Dumb is how I describe Vai -- he disappointed me. He's beautiful, no doubt. And his boy band has perfect skin. However, he did dumbfound me with his classics. The little "switcheroo" guitar playing was great fun. Blind--hey, Joe, I shoulda brought my shades, too! You are cooler than a freezer burn. I was transported by the slick, euphoric tones. Your band is tighter than, well, you know. And you made me think I was on another planet--and I just might have been.

AlienSynergy--searced for you and your wife in center section, rows 21, 22, 23. People looked at me like I had two heads, yelling, "I'm looking for an alien." Did you happen to see me looking like a fool? Show was great, wasn't it!

AlienSynergy--no wonder I couldn't find you! For some reason I thought you would be in the center, row 22 or 23. You may have seen me, in black blouse, long dark red hair, slapped Malmsteen's hand at end of show! Turned around and jumped for joy! I was in very front row, seat 7 and 8 right in Malmsteen's face. I got two of his picks and one of Vai's. Only licked Malmsteen's however. . .given the circumstances! Tee Hee!

Alien--I know what you mean about wanting the new material, but there is something so comforting and familiar about the older stuff, until the newer stuff becomes older stuff! That's why I love Yngwie so much -- he just burns it up for me. I loved the "Red House" version, the "Star Spangled Banner" and all Yngwie's covers of Hendrix. It's my element. Vai seemed to be posing more than playing. . .but he does entrance, no doubt! He threw some cotton at me and the girl next to me after he put some in his own ears.

It's not that the Phoenix show was bad. I thought it was pretty incredible, but it felt as though G3 was still ironing out some details. It's like Phoenix is such a "test" market. And we are so rock concert starved! And we rarely get such a fantastic line-up in ONE night. . .let alone the same stage! Joe is a transporter with the kind of music that drops you in the middle of somewhere else. Joe, you gotta know you are too cool!

JOE--my brother is finally converting his spare bedroom into a sound studio. You inspired him. We have been floating ever since the concert! And the tapes (your old videos and casettes, yes casette tapes) are coming out of the dusty boxes.

ALIENSYERGY-- interesting, isn't it? How observant women are of the world around them!

AlienSyn-dude, don't be embarassed about confusing me for a guy! Even some of the guys I already know confuse me with a guy! Instrumental guitar is no different to me than listening to Mozart, or Beethoven. . .that $hit turns women on! And music like Joe, Vai and Malmstud -- hells belss -- can't leave out Metallica instrumentals either -- that kind of instrumentation is just an extension of the man himself. Nice feeling, to say the least!

ALIENSYNERGY--You think Yngwie has changed? He looks the same from the back! And sounds the same only better! Don't you love the way he plucks the guitar strings right off the fret! I was telling him to burn the dammed thing after that. What's left?

SUGARBEAR--Tell your wife to eat a large pepperoni pizza all by herself. This induces labor. She may suddenly get the urge to paint the living room and hang new draperies as well. This also induces labor.
