Hey Everyone I have a question. Do you think it would be cool if Joe came out with a Guitar Lesson DVD? I think it would really kick. The reason is that fans of his like me, will certainly find it very useful. Yes, it will sell really well too. From the standpoint of the record label, this will be an issue of cost. For us, its about learning. There are many skeptics out there and many people who agree with me. Opinions !

Ps: Joe, what do you think? I am sure you have probably thought about this. Please answer.

Hi Eveyone Do the Stu, indeed LISF was a great instructional video. But I see it as more of an inspirational video. Everytime when I watch that DVD, I have to stop it and start playing because my hands just cannot resist touching the fretboard! Learning from that DVD is something like 10%. And the rest is impossible to follow. I have found myself (and I am sure there are thousands of others) paying heavy attention when Joe talks about his guitar, teaching and other technical aspects of his profession. A DVD could sum all this up very well. I think if Joe does come out with one, the result will be positive.

Actually, I have made a POLL for this hypothetical DVD. I encourage everyone to participate in this. I will post a link to the poll really soon. Thanks.

About the instructionaly DVD: Obviously, Joe has a fanatical fan following, like us. It would make sense if he made the instructional DVD because people will really learn from it, not because its an instructional video, because its Joe teaching. You know, Joe taught himself. The student and the teacher are one. There has to be some kind of discipline that we all want to acquire from him. Joe, come on! Please justify your response! and dont forget these..

Dimebag for G3? Is that a joke? Dimebag is pretty amazing, but for G3??? No way. We dont want to see confederate flags flying around us! Plus, the music of G3 is probably too complex for someone like Dimebag. Zakk Wylde, Dimebag and Kid Rock need to have their own "g3" They should play at the most affluent trailers and have stacks of kegs. Definitely, they have quiet a different audience.

I dont understand all this hype about Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen. Steve Vai needs to be taking more lessons from Joe cause he still is nothing other than a talentless buffoon. Thats right, his playing is talentless and cold, with all focus on theory and patterns, rather than feelings. And Yngwie needs to get off his drunk state and agree to the fact that Steve is under Joe under all circumstances. He called Joe bland??? (read the chat with Metal Edge on his dorky website). I guess Yngwie wants to be remembered as being the next Bach or Paganini. Too bad he cannot achieve that. Satriani is bland??? Kidding me? His classical crap is annoying enough already after he repeats every riff at different speeds and then he goes on to comment on satriani's playing. He's probably never heard a Satriani song. Loser. And lay off that beer.

I think Steve Vai needs to be kicked out of G3. Get anyone else or play for 3 hours. At least those annoying two wont cause our eardrums harm. Sigh.

Indeed. I dont like Vai's music and I cannot get rid of the feeling that he is overrated. I have watched Steve Vai perform live twice live and I own 3 albums (Ultra Zone, Passion & Warfare, Anthology). I also have Live at the Astoria.

I dont disagree that Vai (Dr.) has come up with some good music like Sisters, Tender Surrender & I'll be around. I have also had the oppurtunity to meet Steve backstage. But thats his limit. Can we expect more? If we can, let him prove it. Getting a doctorate from Berklee could probably be a good thing. But it doesnt mean he's going to churn out better music. I hope he does. And I would like to see no more Steve Vai or Yngwie on G3. Yngwie's ego has skyrocketed and we could clearly see it at g303. And we could also see Steve's arrogance. His set was simply....... If you think think I am wrong, tell me whats right.

Edit: Steve may win at the Grammy's tomorrow. Maybe that could a boost for steve fans. But does that make his music any better? I dont consider the grammy's a real award. I doubt they even listen to the stuff they nominate. It's a joke when they hype Justin Timberlake. RIght?

Fine, say whatever you want about Steve, I am not going to change my opinion. Study an album of his (for exmple The Ultra Zone). He shreds really well on the album, but is that music? Is there a tune to it? No. You dont want to say "my fave steve song is a G minor scale played really really fast over some bass line." That's technically music, but it's got no soul. I think Steve Vai is just emerged in his own world of electronics and effects that make his guitar sound like a keyboard. Maybe I am overlooking. Is Steve Vai supposed to be rock? or is he new age? or rap? In fact I am listening to Blue Powder and only the intro sounds good. The rest of the song seems to fall downhill...and the same is with pretty much every one of them. The only decent ones are Sisters, Tender Surrender and oooo. I seriously find boston rain melody a good one too, but WHY is he adding all these rubbish effects and stuff that does not really suit the song. I would love it to be a good song, but he just cannot do it.

My respect for steve does not increase simply because he worked for whitesnake, zappa and david lee roth. I dont listen to them and have no interest. Is Steve Vai famous among us all only because he is somewhat professionally related to Satriani? If that is the reason why people like his music, OUCH !

But I hope he wins that grammy, gets drunk and burns it.

Edit: For people who think I am trying to start a conflict here, I think the conflict begins from you. I posted this at this place only because I know people will understand and listen. You dont want me to go to Brintney spears webiste and type all this, you know? "Talk to Britney"

Maybe Steve Vai is a good musician, no denying that. He is a good guitarist, I dont disagree. After all, I started to listen to vai before Satriani. But.....bla bla blah .....(you know what I will say). But I am here enjoying Boston Rain Melody. If you guys think you know Steve's music better than me, tell me stuff of his thats good. I will listen. But you have to agree that his three necked guitar is a little ridiculous. It could work better if he was a spider.

And what is that Steve is doing in the inlay of the cover of The Ultra Zone? Why is he covered in paint? Was he trying to paint but it kept falling on his head? I hope he takes more lessons from Satriani....for painting :)

I guess the greatest rubbish of the year was today's grammy. How wierd. I could go on about how much I hate the grammy's for institutionalizing what music should be like. Metallica wins for St.Anger. I am bothered when I shouldnt be.

TASTEY: Angry opinion? When did I ever express "anger" here? I hope we are on the same level of what anger means? Also, that kid js_jp_41 was being a little too disrespectful by constantly swearing (did you even read that, mr. tastey whatever) and after all he insulted my folks. I dont want to bring it up.

My whole deal with Steve Vai was about opinions not "anger." Am I an angry person? What kind of a dumb question is that? TASTEY, Are you a dumb person? Maybe St.Anger should not be handed to kids like you.

sorry for the multiple post. Does it really matter? I dont get bothered my it, unless its some junk being typed in thats not music related.

TASTEY: Listen, most of us tend to look at the negatives rather than positives. So, I doubt you read my posts clearly. You extracted all the negative points really well but didnt bother about anyting else, right? So will you stop it?? Read my messages again and say whatever you want to. If I think Vai has no talent, thats my opinion. I was sharing it. There have been many opinions on this page, but I dont post messages disagreeing with them all. You get it or not? If you keep bringing this up, its your fault you are making a fool out of yourself, and did I actually say "VAI SUCKS"? I cannot find it man, maybe its something you believe too. Is that why you are so interested in brining it over again, because I say it best? If thats the case, thanks man.

EDIT: This is like WWF. Will there be awards? The greatest and most challenging fights will be pretty entertaining. Dont disagree that you guys arent having fun.

TASTEY: And why are you coming into all this? Whats your problem? I was having a heated yet peaceful debate with members of this website when you poked your nose in and started to ask me some of the most dumb and ridiculous questions I have ever been asked. "Are you an angry person?" You planning to pay for my "anger management" or what? Dont bring yourself into this, youre just bugging me with your "$%%#@" stuff you enjoy typing. What does that mean? You lunch wasnt good or youve been running loose with Diarrhea? Maybe you arent full of crap but full of piss too, as you just said it. Youre disgusting and a DUMB person who asks people the stupidest questions. Now get a life sucker!

You got yourself into this, you brainless buffoon. Get a freakin life if you can find one. I can send you one that comes out of the bottom of my "you know what", thats how much you deserve. Hee Hee Hee! >:-)

"he caught me at a bad time of the month" TASTEY, how bad is it? Youre on your period man? can I send you some of my GF's tampons? maybe that could fix your moodiness. I keed, I keed !!!

TASTEY: My opinion of Vai is my own. If you got all riled up over it, you could have discussed all that you wanted to. I would have listened. But instead you made comments about me. How stupid of you.

You dont need to call me "angry" and other crap like that. If you think my posts are angry, just let it be that way! Is it bothering you? Is it not giving you sleep or causing you a diarrhea? Get lost moron!

The grammy remark is MY OWN. Does it take a genius to understand this? If you are such a retarded loser to not let me voice my opinion, I wish I was born with more middle fingers to throw on your face.

Maybe I do say it best, you jackass. Maybe I am better than you because not even one post directed towards me has made sense. Get it? Reading your posts yells that you are unintelligent. I am not going to shut up unless you shut up. If you have a problem with me and my posts DEAL WITH IT!

Delfino pile: Thats an opinion. Please teach Tastey that. She/He/It is a proven loser and seriously retarted.

Do the Stu: I will shut up, but some people are too self righteous here. I cant keep quiet while I have an entire crew bitching at me, for only making a comment. Looks like some of you could have fit the time when catholic priests were burning the smart only because they could not understand them. God damn your righteous hand!

Stu Not boo Clone: You know if you think membership time gives a person more credibility, you can kiss my ass. When I call Vai talentless and at the same time I say I like tender surrender, you guys NEVER observe anything positive. So you want me to say I hate tender surrender??? In order to mot be a hypocrite. Go eat shit with Tastey shit. If all this pisses you off, stop coming here. And you have no sense of humor. You cannot understand SARCASM which is too complex for your feeble mind. I am sorry you have no experience with life.

Clarky: I am better than Steve Vai. In fact Steve takes lessons from me nowadays? Does that make me stupid or simply superhuman? Maybe the question you asked was rhetoric? I dont know.

JoeMan9: Whats up! Looks like you're lookin for some "extra" stuff with Tastey since you stressed on the fact that she is a woman? What a lame way to hit on her. The whole thing about the burning guitar was a joke....GET IT OR GET LOST MAN! HOW DUMB ARE YOU ??? The burning guitar was something Jimi did, and I poked a little fun on Steve that he may end up doing it too knowing what a crazy player he is. See your doctor!

I just saw this dream: I see a rush coming. A rush that's filled with self righteous people throwing spears and guitars on me. Tastey is their king. These people have no sense of humor. They dont understand sarcasm. And they all look like Justin Timberlake! This cannot be happening ! They cannot speak for themselves and only focus on the negative. This is messesd up. My weapon is a guitar and I am shooting metal riffs and they are all shooting white stripes and Steve Vai riffs...ugh!

Ovation: "Jazz_Man: Here's some sarcasm: When you've served your great country (like myself) and have been around the world protecting little scum like you, then I will take notice.... Grow up!! " I dont get the sarcasm. Protecting little scum like me? I dont understand. After all, why bring yourself into this? I would like it if you gave comments on SVai or something music related. I dont think many people can understand.

Also, honestly....how many of you are enjoying this little battle? Better than the Janet Jackson case? Beats it.
