Aftershow passes should be based ONLY upon how loooooong someone has been visiting satriani.com not how many posts they have made ;^) Just kidding of course! Any1 who can find there way here to try & get to meet Joe backstage should have a chance. If they weren't FANaticS they wouldn't be here AT ALL.
I agree with the idea of resetting the setlist choices before the poll is taken (to weed out those who never change their picks), & also that the choices should be limited to the approximate number of songs Joe would play in a show. I picked alot of different songs (like "THE FORGOTTEN (PART TWO)" & "SECRET PRAYER") but included some of the regular songs too because of the number of choices we could make. I tried to list only the ones I DEAFinitely wanted to hear & complete the list with multiple requests for "THE FORGOTTEN (PART TWO)" but it would not allow me to post a song more than once.
As far as people saying nobody can complain & request Joe play other songs for G3, such as "THE FORGOTTEN (PART TWO)"; I thought that was what this forum was all about, TALKING TO JOE. We are not complaining, we are HOPING to get the chance to hear some of our FAVORITE songs of allllll time, such as "THE FORGOTTEN (PART TWO)" for example.
BTW ~ have I mentioned "THE FORGOTTEN (PART TWO)"???

Hey 962...
My guess is that Mike Portnoy does the head~slap~thing to change the rhythm of his playing. Instead of doing a specific fill (which would fit perfectly) he plays some ghost notes on his head. Mike doesn't seem to like to play the same thing more than once, & when you play drums as wild~n~crazy as Mike does, it would be easy to repeat fills. The ghost notes allow him to alter them but still keep time. Then again, what the #@!! do I know.
BTW ~ have I mentioned THE FORGOTTEN (PART TWO)" for the Keswick Theater show??? ;^)

Can't wait for someone to post up the setlists for 2nite's show. Here's hoping for a few different songs for our live DVD collections.
"THE FORGOTTEN (PART TWO)" for example!
"Secret Prayer" would be another nice addition to a live DVD!
Guess I'll have to get the "Anthology" disc now. I figured I already had all of Joe's songs, so why buy it. But I don't have "Slick" yet so I better start saving up some $$$.
Good luck 2nite Joe!!!

Hey Joe...
AWESOME show last night!!! You guys were really on! Loved all the improvising. Wow!!! What can I say? Thanx 4 the signatures after the show. VERY cool of you & Steve to spend a couple minutes with all of us FANaticS hangin' by the buses. Too bad Yngwie couldn't take the time to sign anything for us UNlucky FANaticS who couldn't get backstage passes. Was hoping to get all 3 Gs to sign my ticket, but glad to get you & Steve to sign it. Saw Yngwie MANY years ago & really hated it, BUT I gotta say... Yngwie was a cool addition to the lineup. He was rockin' & he really added a new flavor to the G3 concept. Amazing performances by all 3 of the Gs!!!
Next up, tomorrow night in Montreal ~ "Hammer Of The Gods", a Zeppelin tribute band with Mike Portnoy, Paul Gilbert, Dave Larue, & some singer.
2 Gr8 shows (5 if you count G3 as the 4 shows which you really get for the price of one) in 3 daze. Wow, when it rains, it pours. Speaking of pouring, MAN was it pouring on the drive into Philly for the show.
Thanx 4 the FANtastic show at the Keswick!
